LG pulled the plug on the leaked video of the LG LB40, claiming that it violated its copyright. Well, yesterday LG actually released the official trailer of the LG LB40. The trailer video looks impressive with all the bells and whistles. Enough with the legal front, here are the specs: 5 megapixel camera on board, 800×345 touchscreen, HSPA, WiFi, GPS, and so on. The recent rumor about LG wanting to open their own app store, this phone will be set for movies and games download from it to be app store. It is expected that the price of the LG LB40 should be competitive with the current iPhone 3GS from ATT and the Palm Pre from Sprint. So we can safely assume that this phone should be in $179 -- $200 price range, and of course with a two year data plan contract. So when buying this phone or like any phone that comes attached with a data plan, one must consider the monthly package plan instead of the price of the phone.

Updated from July 15, 2009 post: Likely, the LG LB40 will be seen first on the Verizon network in the USA. It is a replacement of the out going LG Chocolate model, and the LG LB40 will be available in the third quarter of 2009. From experience, it is more likely will be out in the fourth quarter for the holidays, more likely around late October to mid-November.

the current rumor is that the american version has been completely slaughtered and no longer sexy.
