ok, so im in the market to get a new phone. i've been looking at the Nokia n97 and the Nokia N900, but they are too expensive for me and i will probably get them next year. so for this year, i'm considering the HTC Diamond 2 and the Samsung i900 (yes im bring up the battle again! ohmy.gif). actually im pretty torn between the two. both phones have their advantages and disadvantages. Here is what i like and don't like about each phone:

HTC Diamond 2:
pros:
- thinner than Samsung i900.
- better design.
- "better" design of windows mobile 6.1/6.5

cons:
- small built in storage capacity (about 500 mb... boo)
- no multi-touch
- camera has less features than i900

Samsung i900:
pros:
- huge storage capacity (8GB/16GB. DAMN!)
- better camera capabilities
- more "app pages"
- opera
- "mouse pad"

cons:
- hella ugly (ish?)
- no stylus slot (sometimes the buttons are a little small too press)
- small QWERTY touch keyboard.

so, my question to all you super-tech soompiers is : which phone should i get? if you have used either of these, please share your experiences and recomendations. thanks!

how come no one ever helpes me? T.T
wahbahwaah
i have touch diamond 2

-storage size shouldnt be an issue, i got an 8gb for 20 dollars on ebay.
-and it doesnt have multi touch, but the samsung doesnt either
-camera is ok, no flash and low quality videos
-the qwerty screen keyboard is pretty small, had it for 2 months now, still have mistakes here and there when typing, but it will work flawlessly if u use the stylus, but u gotta sacrifice speed... the samsung should be same since its the same screen size
-the diamond has twice the screen resolution
-the thing that bothers me about the diamond is that the screen is a soft plastic, with the display deeper inside. its responsive, but the plastic cover starts to distort after a while, but it hasnt affected performance so farr
-you cant use your own headphones, since its an htc jack

both phone are bout the same, but i would personally get htc, since its about a year newer

^^^ thanks! great help! anyone else willing to put in their opinion?

Are they the same price range or something? I think there are better Samsung phones (i.e. Omnia II, Omnia HD, Pixon, etc)... I don't really like the HTC Diamond II (I don't know, the design's kind of bleh for me) so I'd get the Omnia since it's a little bit less ugly (but still ugly lol). Plus I'm not really into the Windows mobile...

^^^ yeah both phones are $300-$450 about.

i dont really want to spend all that much money on a phone right now. so im going for the cheaper models. i dont really want to have to spend more than $500 dollars on a phone. next year im planning on somethin more expensive ($1000+) so something cheap for now is fine. just want to upgrade to a better phone than he one i have now. I've had the touch diamond 2 and if you text a lot, i don't recommend it because the virtual keyboard is too small and its not capacitive screen.

only great thing is that it can be updated to windows 6.5

yep, windows mobile is crap.

the HTC Diamond 2 looks like it would weigh a ton compared to the Samsung.

really not a fan of HTC phones, I think theyre ugly.

from the pros and cons you've listed, I would think Samsung is the better phone.

thanks guys. i just talked to a local phone store and they said that the new AT&T HTC Pure is pretty much the exact same as the HTC Diamond2 and it costs less. i think the Pure lookes better too. so i think i will just get that.

My friend have the i900. He loves it a lot. He loves to flash it and mess around with it where you can change the interface and everything.
