I see what reason there might be for the top 10. After that there are those that I don't have an idea about. Whatever this list is based.

I am happy, however, that Kenshin is in the top 5. I'd like to know what they mean by "top." Like most popular? Well known?

I fail to see how speedy racer is an anime, Its more like a cartoon than an anime!!! smh whoever make that vote can't tell the diff between an anime and a cartoon.

^ Technically anime is japanese cartoon, which is why they probably did that.

Haha I agree with some of the people IN the list, but maybe not their placings.
I was surprised but pleased they put in like Totoro and Pikachu. Haha

But they really did manage to snag the epic-everyone-knows-who-they-are characters.
Minus a few characters, but yeah.

If you just ignore the rankings, I think they had a nice mix of both new and old characters, popular and classic series. Also I think it's good how they chose creatures like Totoro and Pikachu. Although it's hard to argue how Pikachu cannot be in the top 25. His thundershock attack has sent several children into epileptic seizures. If that's not top 25 worthy, then who knows.

Wth the guy who made this list is like a shonen fan...

anime and cartoons are the same thing
the only difference is that anime comes from japan (although that's changing)
but if you watch alot of Disney and cartoons like Betty Boop, Charlie Brown and Felix the cat....the differences are not that big because that's where anime drew inspiration.

I had this deep feeling that Shinji Ikari from Evangelion was going to be in the top 25 chart. He's so popular! Lol Totoro, I thought that too. It's a well-known character! I never seen the Code Geass anime before, but that Lelouch Lamperouge looks hot ;] LOL his name is Monkey D. Luffy?! I didn't know that... I didn't know his name, so I just called him ONE PIECE :X Wow.. Vegeta from Dragon Ball Z?! You've got to be kidding me... Yes yes I agree that Ichigo Kurosaki deserves to be in the TOP 25 Anime characters! He's so hot T0T;; Eh... what did I had this feeling that Haruhi Suzumiya from "The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya" was going to be in here.. I don't really like her though! Well it's not like all my favorite characters will be in this chart, lol.. my boyfriend likes her though! Ohhhh Light Yagami from Death Note, agree agree to be on the chart! He's cute ;] And he likes to save the world by killing all the bad people! Lol I know a lot of my guy friends that likes Vash the Stampede from Trigun, especially my boyfriend! I didn't know his name was Vash the Stampede though >__<;!!

ERM, I never heard of Ninja Scroll before... Not even Lupin III? He does look like a monkey though 0_0.. hmm I never heard of Vampire Hunter D before too, but that anime looks cool o__o! Motoko Kusanagi is hot lady ;] So it's agreeable to see her on this chart! Never heard of Akira before~ LOL REI AYANAMI is sooooooo popular in Japan, it's crazy! I didn't really like her character in that anime though >__<;;

Sailor Moon was everyone's favorite back then, so it's understandable. I don't know now though o_o! AWWWWWWWW PIKACHU!!<3 lol.. yeah Edward Elric.. even though I didn't know his name, but his face is so familiar, seen him a lot in Fullmetal Alchemist! :] Naruto on 6?! Eh.. I never really liked him though.. I wonder if Sasuke is in the chart O_O!

Wow I haven't seen Rurouni Kenshin anime in awhile... Himura is on top 5?! NO WAY!!!!!! O_O Ichigo should be higher than Himura!! LOL Everyone loves Spike Spiegel from Cowboy Bebop... but top 4?! DANG ._.;; Speed Racer is 3.. hell no.. I so not agree on this, or maybe cause I didn't grow up watching it. The movie "Speed Racer" was good, love the story plot and the casting, Christina Ricci was so cute! LOL ASTRO BOY COMES IN 2ND?! HHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA Well there is going to be a movie about it soon in theaters.. or wait it already came out I think @_@;

Lastly, Goku is no. 1... yay!! He deserves it. I remember I fell in love with him, well infatuated of course XD

Speed Racer definitely looks like an anime, btw. A lot of the older anime are styled pretty much the same.

I thought it was interesting (and pleasantly surprised) that they had a mix of old and new. Some of the rankings might be questionable IMO, but their reasoning made for a nice read. I was expecting more "classic" characters like Captain Harlock or Char Aznable though. Admittedly, I think this type of list is pretty difficult though, since everyone would like to see their favorite characters and stuff XD

Meh, I think Naruto and L should switch places. In no way is Naruto better than L.

if so, I think the list is pretty accurate (in terms of who's in it).

This list is 25 all-time classic animation stars, AKA POPULAR.
So I think Naruto does deserve that spot, so quit complaining. As much as you hate the character or anime, you can't deny the popularity of this anime & character. You guys also have to keep in mind this is a list based off American (?) audience. If this was a ranking by the Japanese, it would be much more different.
