LOL my family eats this dish almost everyday in summer.

LaPetite
Hate to be the first one to give this a bad review, but I ate it before and it was really nasty.
Mines was red though, although it wasn't spicy or anything huh.gif
CHEWDY
@LaPetite; haha really?

i love it, but my family only has it once in awhile smile.gif

I LOVE THIS!

It has such a great crab taste.

I had it in Vietnam last year, they use rice paddy crabs (they are small and grounded).
How were you able to replicate them here in the West?

OMG I LOVE THIS DISH. I went to Vietnam this summer but there were so many dishes to eat that I forgot about this dish!

I've never even heard of it...but I'm not viet, so that makes sense. What's in it?
kiralz0mg

I love them. I don't know why but I love all "slimy" vegetable: purple yam, rau đay, okra...My family grows rau đay in our garden and we freeze them so it would be available all year round, or just until the next harvest.
shinhdeplol
^you eat it with okra? wow~ it's the first time i have ever heard about it LOL

My family never had this, I guess considering my mom is from Nam...
I'm guessing this dish is more often made in Bac, because my grandma (dad's side who is from Bac) always makes rau day.

Eh, so is it a Nam or a Bac dish? huh.gif Conflicting reviews... lol. Anyway, I kind of agree with kissez* - the pic isn't that appetizing - maybe it just doesn't do the dish justice.
dorkafied!
i THINK i ate that before, i probably didnt like it that much huh.gif

No, what I'm trying to say is that okra falls under the slimy vegetables that I love to eat.
butters

~.Linh.~

canh rau đay nấu với mướp! we eat it all the time since we grow them. i don't exactly like them, but it tastes good. we never have it with crabs before though. usually with dry shrimps.
country_pumpkin
Wow! it's my fav food. But I rarely eat it cuz I dunno how to cook. My mom does it well
kei_mina
This is my mom's favourite food biggrin.gif And so am I ( since she cooks it so frequently) But the dish in that pic doesn't look good, it's look different from what my mom cooks.
Anyway, that's a Bac's dish smile.gif) ( 'cause my mom from Bac VietNam but my dad from Trung VietNam and when my dad's niece visit us, she can't eat it at first)
meow!
i've never eaten this but it looks soo good. i want to try
Hitoro
Oh! i've eaten thus before. i hate that sqush thingy! but apparently it will cool you down on hot days. We don't put that crab meat in there it mostly minced pork or mince shrimp. "canh" or "soup for rice" are not really considered restaurant menu items.
