i dunno how many ppl here go to ccsf, but theres a sprinter 86 that usually parks around campus and today, i noticed he took the same route i take home. i got cutoff by an old guy in a fit so i lost him in golden gate park. anyone know around where he lives? wondering if he lives nearby me

The owner is REALLY close in terms of looks for a replica, down to the tachometer, interior color, and steering wheel in the amine. Performance wise, it's got a 20V swap with I/H/E done, and relatively light suspension mods. He's also got a Wangan Midnight Devil Z that he's beginning to work on.

im just curious if he lives around my area. i always figured he was in CT or sunset and i never got to get a good look at his car since i only see it on and off. he has a custom license plate, PANDA 86. it's not really an ID clone, hes got a sprinter wing and custom wide fenders with wide ass tires.

A few of my friends had AE86's....

Complaints:

Not enough power
ALWAYS something needs to be fixed
After it's fixed, if it isn't right.... probably will need custom fab parts
Rust demons
No wheel choices
Overpriced
Too many things that need attention.

One of my friends sold his AE, picked up a s13 instead
The other ..... i think he scraped his, his was a real POS. He had trouble going UP the mountain.

I think he eventually scrapped it and started a EG6 project.

I agree with some of this and disagree as well. Yeah they are a perennial money pit, but overall they're a fun choice for projects (for us Canadians anyways), I've seen the standard 20V put in, but there's someone here with a Lexus LS400 V8 shoehorned into the engine bay, and wheel choices are easy at the 4x114.3 15" range' 0 offset wheels, deep dish, and stretched tires.

How hard is it to spot it at city. The parking lot is only SO big assuming you're talking about the one at the bottom of the science building. I don't think I've ever seen a panda trueno, but I have seen an ugly teal one. =] Just sit in the parkinglot, you're bound to find him one day.

i think they made that panda from nyc if i'm correct.

there is a shop around here that makes many of them and sells it.

Im pretty sure ive seen him on Clement before. I recall the driver was a young asian guy. Not that i didn't know that already before I saw him.
