It comes with 3.7-inch display, 5.0-megapixel camera, slide-out QWERTY keypad, SD card expansion (16GB included), GPS, and Bluetooth. Priced at
$199 with new service plan.

This phone is going to be the mini cooper.
I kind of want it now, after buying my new Hero I got 3 months ago.
But I must not be tempted.
Anyone who has Verizon is john teshing lucky to have this phone on their network.

With that big of a display, I think this phone would be better without the slide out keyboard.

i think its cooler with the keyboard, and more convenient.
however this phone design is lacking some glam.

The keyboard is great to have, but the feel of it is really lacking.
Will buy it anyway.

hello moto!
got my Droid today. this thing is *super* fast, gawddamn! resolution is awesome, enough *useful* apps anyone could ever want. haven't tried to make a call on it yet, so not sure of voice quality. the keyboard seems to be the biggest downfall right now. it's *tiny* - keys are flat and pressed up right against each other. haven't had much use for that hugeass gold button on the inside - IMO, it takes up way too much space that would have been better used to make the keys larger.
i'm liking this phone right now and as i get used to it, i think i'll like it even more.

I'm thinking to buy this phone.
But what's the monthly payment for it? Anyone know?
With the data plan and everything, it must be a lot.

This phone is awesome! My bf got it for us this morning and I have no complaints at all so far! Yeah, the keyboard is a bit small but it really doesn't bug me at all but it may be that I also have small fingers. I love that I can customize everything compared to my old env2 where I could barely do anything, but then again I've never really had 'techie' phones so I'm still absorbing all these features.
Oh, and I just posted this from my phone!

24hrs into having this phone and the internal keyboard is REALLY getting on my nerves. i have long thin fingers and they feel cramped when txt'ing/emailing long messages. the phone seems very top heavy while using the real keyboard.
call quality is decent. i don't like the fact that there is no physical 'call end' key on the main screen. you need to go into the phone icon first and then hit the call end button.
question for those that have one: have you found an app/a way to get auditory notification reminders of email/txt msg/pict msg/etc?

i want to get this phone soon!
i do agree that the four-way rocker isn't of much use and it'd be better if they used that space to spread out the keys a little... but imagining the phone without the pretty gold button, it isn't as pretty

haha.
is there a phone charm hole!? if not, i hope they make cases for the droid that do ;_;

the "my verizon" app doesn't even have an option to change notification settings.
HOWEVER
i found one that does! it's called "missed call" and you can change VM, SMS, etc settings for notification via ringtones, LED light, and vibration.

i got my droid lastfriday!
loveit loveit. i bought the storm 2 on the release date, and absolutely HATED it. so i kept it for a week until the droid got released

they keys are really flat...its hard to feel what key you're on. you get kinda used to it after a while.
other than that, i'm pretty happy about it
