hey, I like to write songs but so far they have all been done with acoustic guitar and piano.
I want to try out doing some stuff that's more... upbeat? think g-dragon's solo album style...
with synthesised beats and stuff like that (:

but i'm a total novice when it comes to this genre,
so what do I need to get started?
do I need a special kind of microphone, keyboard,

and MOST of all, which music software is the best?
i know i need SOMETHING to edit stuff, but can the software also generate music or do i have to record it separately and then edit it?
yeah.. i have no idea what i'm doing...

best results, easy to use, can download online are my priorities when looking for a program
can anyone recommend please?

oh, and please move this topic if it's in the wrong place ^-^"

first thing that comes to mind is FL Studio. you'll have to get another person's opinion on that suggestion, >_>' cos i gave up on trying to figure out how it works. there's a bunch of tutorials out there so, there .

FL studio can edit. generate. record. i think.
o0' but yeah... get someone else's opinion on that. it's pro software, that much i know.

i guess there's also garage band and that other one. _ that kinda software?

Musescore if you start by writing score. It can play back your composition with instrument libraries that you install called sound fonts (tonnes out there). It can also save out a MIDI file that you can read into other music softwares.

Other than FL Studio, you may want to try out Ableton Live.

If you have some cash to spare, you may also want to get one of these, these or these. Such controllers are the playthings of musicians everywhere now (I wouldn't be surprised if G-D owns one, if not, he needs to get one ASAP to stay in trend!), and you can get a decent sounding electronic loop out of them pretty quickly.

Pure Data is also a really cool software for electronic music creation, but it needs a bit more theoretical knowledge to drive.
