Is there anyone that is majoring in Communication or has a Commication degree that could give me an insight of what it is? What is the Communication major?

I am trying to write a personal statement to get in to a University majoring in Communication. Can anyone suggest or pin point some things that I could possibly write about so it will help make me stand out from other applicants?

Hey, I'm a Communication & Journalism major. One important thing to point out is the current progressive-state of "Communication." The academia of Communication is shifting towards a much more digitally-aware era. I guess "Communication" is a very broad major. It depends on what study you're going towards.

Because of such a change in communication due to the Internet phenomenas of Twitter, Facebook, Myspace, etc., (and of course...soompi), communication is travelling faster than ever before. Everyone has access at anytime of the day so it's a field that is shifting towards progression. It's important to study in the field of communication because it keeps us more aware of why we communicate with others in certain ways and why perhaps the digital realm is much more popular than ever before. The study of communication is currently changing into a digital one and that alone makes communication such an exciting field to get involved with. There's a lot to accomplish and a lot to still learn. In the communication field "journalism," we're at a time where online news is getting to be more popular than the newspaper and press rooms are closing down. It's amazing to have the opportunity to be a part of this digital era and study the phenomena of communication.
