Hey, guys! It's been awhile since I posted on here! Don't ask, it's a really long and painful story about how my other account just totally died on me and how the email address attached to it is totally NOT right when it says it is and argggghhhhh.

Okay, anyway. I am back with a cover of Gee by SNSD! Somebody on youtube requested I sing this a REALLY long time ago, and I finally did it.

first be first I don't think this kind of cutesy songs fits you at all but i also have to say you pulled it pretty well. That's cool since you can still sound good even tho it's not what it comes better to your voice. Like...a challenge, ya know?

Mixing is good. I thought i was listening the original on the talking parts (i always loved your talking. remember those talking lines i coded you once for naman barabwa? now you know the reason why) and also the whole gee gee baby parts. You got better with volume levels too, those can be a pinkberry as you know :3. Verses, choruses and harmonies are cool and clean sounding. I would say the highlight is the bridge tho =).
The biggest problem i have with this are the final adlibs. I don't like them at all. I feel there's no color to them and that they sound sharp. It makes it sound like you are not at ease while recording them but I honestly think it might be because the song doesn't fit your voice to start with.

mmm have you thought about recording a capella for this? I think you could do something very interesting out of it.

minnilu: I think I know what you mean. I wasn't entirely enthusiastic about the recording, I have to admit. =X My voice is not quite cute enough for the song, so I think that the fact alone that I KNEW that was causing me to be lazy with energy. So I think I know what you are talking about there.

Eider: rofl, I'm glad SOMEBODY likes my talking in songs. It's good reassurance since I always feel really stupid while I'm recording it. I'll start talking, and then I'll stop and laugh and be like, "This is stupid!" xDDD But I guess it pays off in the end?
Yeah, mixing volumes kind of sucks. I don't think I have a problem with it in my solo mixes, though. That's mostly in collabs and stuff, because then microphone qualities and singer qualities are thrown into the mix. And that's where everything starts getting weird.
I understand why you don't like the adlibs. I don't like the adlibs either! xD I think I did them in, like, five minutes, and I really wish I had spent more time on them. Then I could have cleaned up the pitch (because I was actually flat, not sharp, during Taeyeon's adlibs), and added some flavor to them. Bleh. =X

Kyo Hanjin: rofl, I honestly have no idea how to make my voice sound "less refined". I think it's just because I'm trained that way. xDD I'm programmed that way!! O.O I'll have to work on un-refining myself for certain songs.

Yeah, getting consonant emphasis down has always been a problem with my korean. It just hasn't quite clicked yet with me, I guess? But I'll be working at it!

Hmm... you sang nicely on this (well... the adlibs on the last chorus was... hmm... not that good), however, like everyone said, you were lacking some of that cute-ness in it at times. There was something about your tone not fitting this... but again, it's SNSD. Havtah' be those cutesy high-pitched girls. XD

But hmm.... hoping to hear the acapella version of this soon.

Krazim: Yeah, I totally know my voice doesn't fit this song. Sometimes I force myself to be cute for songs like these. >> But then, that can damage your voice, so I'm desperately trying to refrain from that, no matter how easy it is to do by accident.
