*Sigh, looks like you gotta sell the car.
It's a complete goner, the title is now ruined too.
Why would you let something like that happen!?

If you read it correctly, he/she was in Costco and some SUV hit him/her, WHILE he/she was in Costco.

Mr. Calculator, you are too smart.
So smart, you didn't sense my sarcasm.
To the OP:
Option A: Call your insurance company, pray you have comprehensive, go get a quote, fix it, ask for instructions how to settle the bill.
Option B: Fix it yourself, out of your purse.
I am a rocket scientist.

Your car is screwed. I suggest you just burn it up.

Don't claim, your insurance will go up or you will not get a yearly reduction on your insurance policy.
You can get it fix for approx 300-400$.

Don't claim it, fix it out of pocket if you don't like it.
I think my Corolla has a scratch on the bumper thanks to Dad.

I gave ya advice already. This was something Google could have answered in less than the time you probably needed to type up the post. It's alright, im guilty of it too, sometimes.

depending on how deep the scratch is, it can be repaired cheap and by yourself.

dont leghump - thats just desperate.
ruthie just get scratchx or something. if youre under 25 i wouldnt claim it. comprehensive isnt supposed to raise your ins. payments, but companies tend to shaft younger drivers.

is your car dented in?
if it's just scratches did it get through the primer layer?
if it didn't you should go to AutoZone and buy "Rubbing Compound" made by Turtle Wax. It's only 5 dollars. If you guys only traded paint a bit then the rubbing compound should do a really good job taking care of it. I always get random scratches on my car at school (College ppl suck at driving) and usually rubbing compound takes good care of it.

I parked on the streets and went to get my hair cut. When I came out someone had taken out my left blinker and left me some nice scratch marks too... they apparently suck at parallel parking. Unfortunately, there were no cameras so I never found out who did it. I haven't fixed it yet but I'm not going to call the insurance company I'm just going to pay for it once I have enough saved up to fix it.

dont file claim. just pay a shop to do it. unless you know who did it, your insurance will increase your rate. its more worht it just to pay the shop to fix it. say your bill was $500 a year. to paint the whole rear of an SUV would probably be $400-$800 (depending on quality, layers/coats, and where you go). but if you go to your insurance to fix it, they will pay for it (maybe only some of it) and they will increase your rates to maybe $575 a year. since you have no one to blame, they will blame you.
