Hey folks,
Has anyone tried to beat or whisk an egg in the food processor?
It is to make mayo, I'm following a recipe from Gordon Ramsay and he uses the food processor but I'm not sure if he is using the plastic disc (for beating eggs) in the food processor or the normal blade (knife to cut everything).
Guys, I'm asking because i lost all the extra bits that came with the food processor such as the plastic disc that is supposedly used to beat eggs.
Well if you're interested, the recipe is
300 ml oil
3 egg yolks
salt and pepper to taste.
Egg first but slowly pour in the oil (should be a very thin line). First 30 seconds is most important he says. Finally flavor the food (do not flavor it first).

I don't see why you can't use a food processor, if you have a blender you can do the same thing.

I've made mayonnaise in the food processor before, and it turned out just fine. My only caution is that I had to make more than originally intended because there just wasn't enough to beat...the mixture was a little below the height of the blade.
