What's the worst job you've ever had?
Was it the work itself? Co-workers? Boss from hell?
I can't think of one.
Honestly, every oddjobs I've had I've actually enjoyed :T
YUNA!

You're so lucky to have a job you've actually enjoyed. Especially all the jobs you had! My worst job ever would be my position as a junior consultant at an environmental consulting firm. The work itself was great and the pay was meh but I had the WORST COLLEAGUE EVER. I hated her so much I asked my cousin in tw to grab a cockroach, name it after her, and burn it alive. >=). Our offices were the only offices on that level of the building and we'd ALWAYS argue and fight over every little thing. My boss would tell me to do this; she'd go ahead and cancel those arrangements and do it her way JUST to get me in trouble. Anyway she'd make me cry every single john teshing day and one day I couldn't tolerate it anymore and I just told her to deal with the incoming external clientele herself (note: her English is horrible) and in tears I grabbed my purse and stormed out. Gawd, I hated her guts. I eventually came back two days later and I quit.
The funny thing is one of the clients that I was dealing with asked for my phone number days after I quit, and he finally got ahold of me and asked me for dinner. It was kind of awkward.. haha. Actually there were a lot of creepy clients that I dealt with. ugh. I'm glad that's over and done with. ^3^

Working the corner for some cash

Dressing up suure was fun though
Besides that, I have liked most of my jobs. Probably working as a Tech at Dodge, because after that I never really fixed my own car and hated working on cars after that lol

I haven't had a REALLY bad job but it really sucked working at a bakery. Having to work until 11pm and the next day they'd make me open and work from 6am-2pm. It kind of sucked. What was even worse was that the manager began depending on me to do almost everything. She'd go get her hair permed and stuff during her work hours which really pissed me off.
Not only that but the customers were just as annoying. They'd ask for baskets for the bread when it was right in front of them. They would complain about just about everything and anything. Not only that but they'd always make remakrs like "Paris Baguette always has cake boxes" if we ran out of boxes. I can go on forever...

i've only had two jobs so not much to choose from. xD
but i really disliked my first job. it wasn't the people nor the job, coz they were alright.
it was the rules of the company that made me dislike it so much.

By far, my current job.
Ive been there for 2 years and that store has been through 4 managers in less than a year. =/ My current manager is a pushy person, even though we don't get commission or any kind of incentive. It's also hard because we're such a small store, everyone pretty much has what we try to sell them and may not benefit them at all.
and the pay sucks.

Anyone else been a residential advisor in the dorms?
Back in college, I was an RA for a year and a half and i quickly realized that no one is normal. They may LOOK like it and ACT like they are OK in the head, but once they run into a problem, things go bat ass crazy.
Kinda ridiculous how at 22, I was in charge of 55 residents who were on average older than me by 2-8 years.
I've had to deal with:
people getting into a fight and breaking a beer bottle over another person's head
being the mediator between boyfriend/girlfriend relationships
finding a hamster that ran loose and could squeeze through the bottom crack of the dorm room doors
naked people running around the floor
theft & vandalism
underage drinking and drug use
having awkward talks about refilling the public condom basket with some residents. (Imagine having to health services and asking for a supply of 500+ condoms to the nurse. "Um. I'm a RA" "Ok here they are (sure you are creepy kid..)" haha
Ugh... it was a nightmare most of the time, but it really helped me realize that everyone is unique... even though that might not be a good thing. haha I have some crazy stories about my days as an RA

Calling alumni asking them to donate to the University. This is all good and fine, except for when they have cancer, or are dying, and you still need to ask them FOUR times to donate. Or when they just lost their job and is losing their home, and you STILL have to ask them to donate. All you can say is "oh, well I completely understand your situation, if $200 is too much, would you be more comfortable with $100?". It's like, no, I DON'T understand your situation because I a) don't have cancer

isn't dying and c) don't have a home to lose.

LOL that is hilarious.
My worst job was working at Tim Horton's because I had a stingy boss who didn't follow the rules. I think there was a rule in the contract with Tim Horton's that if you work more than 8 hours you need to have at least 8 hours before you start your next shift, but he had me working the night shift until 12 am, then schedule me for 6 am the next day. He'd also schedule me on Sundays, when I put it down in my availability on the application, clearly told him during my interview, and constantly reminded him that I had church on Sundays. He didn't give us our full breaks and he didn't even do anything when a girl burned her whole arm with freshly brewed coffee because the coffee maker was faulty.
Ugh, so glad I don't work there anymore.

My 'worst' job was far from nightmarish for me or something I dreaded, but it certainly fit the categories of 3D. For about two months between jobs I worked as a turkey catcher, just because that's the only temporary job I could get that wasn't in the fast-food industry. It was so bad that the boss had permanent ads in the papers asking for workers, as more than half the people who tried it didn't last a week, and some of his regulars weren't very reliable. The crew normally had 8-10 people, and I had more post-grade 10 education than all of them put together. To say the least, most of them were stuck in that job for a reason.
The work wasn't just physically demanding, but really wore you down over time. Often barns were poorly ventilated and it was hard to breath, conditions were often really hot but we still had to wear protective cover-alls (b/c of avian flu), my clothes always smelled of turkey mini cooper even after washing them, and my hands always hurt and felt cramped. After I left the job it took more than two weeks for the cramps in my hands to go away.
I was glad that I was able to prove to myself that I can do tough manual labour, and a job that many people just can't hack; however two months was plenty long enough. How I pity the guys who may well still be on that crew with no better employment prospects available.
The job I genuinely loathed the most was my first teaching job in Korea. Over Chuseok I was in Incheon and had some time to kill, and took a stroll down to where I used to work. They had downsized from two buildings to one, and were in the smaller building. That really made me feel great.

Most of my jobs have had positives and negatives, but I suppose the job that had the biggest negatives was a job I had during undergrad in the library of my uni. I won't give the specific job title being that it's a job that's essentially one of its kind (our university was the only university that had a library with this particular division in the country), and giving the name would give away the job, as well as potentially me in particular. But anyhow, I spent around 6-7 hours a day alone in a dark, damp old warehousey room shelving objects (again, can't say what they were) listening to sing-songy 50s pop music (the only station the radio would get) quietly going insane.

All the jobs I had in the past were pretty bad. It was mainly the managers who made me dislike them so much, but by far the worst place I have worked at was at the movie theater. It was my first job, too.
Aside from working part-time, I was taking summer school because I had nothing better to do. But rather than giving me part-time hours, they gave me almost full-time hours by making me work almost everyday. It started getting out of hand when they started making me work alone on opening nights on Fridays --" I worked at KFC/Taco Bell, and I had to ring up the customers, serve them, as well as cook at the same time. The worst night was when I was alone on an opening night when two big movies came out. In the end, I quit because they were forcing me to work when I already told them I couldn't. When I told them that I couldn't and that I have told them over a week in advance, they merely said that it's just too bad. Heck, I had a paper worth 20% of my mark and they expected me to prioritize the job instead (pfff).
The second worst job was at a lottery call center. I never liked lotteries since I feel like I am robbing people off their money (despite the fact that it is their own choice to buy it or not). I applied for outbound (where we call the clients), but they kept on making me work inbound. Inbound was annoying as hell because the phone automatically picks up, so it was like no break at all. Not to mention, the computer had no mouse, and it was one of those blue with white font screens. I got quite a lot of attitude from the disabled who called companies to tell me their information. The longest phone call with a disabled client lasted for 35 minutes - most of which where they kept on giving me the attitude for not typing everything (name, address, number, credit card numbers, birth date, etc) at once --"
The third worst job? Let's just say that I don't suck up to people so my manager didn't like me much. Not to mention, everyone else were females and since I was not the perky type who enjoys gossiping, or drools over ever male customers, I was an outsider.

Retail in a general department-like store. I did everything, worked in every section and basically had to do whatever the customer said. I always get ... when ppl ask for my official position when I worked there since I worked the jewelery counter, cashier, customer service, women's clothing and stock lol.
But if I had to narrow it down, doing the customer service desk in a retail setting is the absolute worst. I'd taking being a general sales associate any day.
