He made a lot of hits for SM Town gasoos. I don't know if theres not YYJ work, what place that HOT, FTTS, SES were in hearts of fans and the position for BoA, DBSG, Super Junior in Showbiz now! Let's give this thread for the greatest singer/composer of K-pop in 1990s and so far...may be over 20 years

i agree...he's an awesome composer. he's given H.O.T, SES, BoA and DBSK no. 1 hits. i know he's written for Shinhwa and FTTS...just not sure if his songs for them hit number one.

i remember there was an article last year on how BoA couldn't decide which song to release as her title song for her 5th album, cause she was getting so many offers from songwriters....and at the end, she chose, 'Girls On Top!!' which is by Yoo Young Jin!! no surprise.

I agree, Yoo Young Jin is an incredible composer. He knows how to make classic hits. He's also very consistent. Nearly every one of his songs have been number one singles. That type of consistency just shows how talented this guy is. He hasn't lost his touch at all over the years.

There was also that other SM composer Jang Yong Jin who made awesome hits back to back as well. He made HOT's Candy, Heng Bok, etc. He also made Choi Chang Min songs, OPPA songs, etc. That dude was also awesome. It's too bad when he finally came out as a gasoo though in a duo with his brother, they did horrible and he just vanished. These two helped launch K-pop for what it is today.

He is like the best composer ever. All the songs he has written for other artists (mostly to SM artists & himself), every single song is like really i mean extremely nice. His lyrics are to die for. My gosh, it's like inexpressible. He's a really good composer, I mean the best.

He's great. Every song that's by him, I like. Especially his I YAH!-HOT and Love-SES. Almost every song, if not all, became No.1 hits. He just beats anyone.

he's very hard to catch in pics, but you do see them once in a while--mostly on his SM page. I don't think he's been in any of the SM MVs in a long time, either. This is the only pic I have of him (linked because it's the same as mine). It's not new, but he doesn't look any different. He did compose Scandal and Good Vibration for Kangta & Vanness. He's a great composer. Sometimes it easy to identify that those songs are composed by him. Upbeat and most are computered electronic music. Get what I'm saying?

I feel sort of odd bumping this thread up, but he's the producer for Zhang Li Yin's "One More Try" song! And she'll perform it January 21st in Beijing!!

He also composed Purple Line, Don't Don and Man In Love all great songs

He looks familiar. Wasn't he in an old SM Town mv? I remember seeing someone that looks like him, it was an old winter mv like in 99-01 or something. But yea, he really is a great writer. Those songs he made for Dbsg and Suju, WOW. Great stuff!

I only found out a while ago that Yoo Young Jin is the composer of my fav songs, because my friend told me. its really wonderful to know that the man behind all these awesome songs its him.

he's truly a genious. i love the classic background songs mixed with pop/rock and the rapper rock from the 90's.

SM Entertainment’s hitmaker Yoo Young Jin (38) praised BoA and TVXQ in an interview with Yonhap News and said that the former has surpassed his expectations and how hard-working TVXQ is.

“BoA’s special ever since I gave her her debut song ‘ID;PeaceB.’ I made that song and although I let her listen to the demo track, I hadn’t arranged how it was going to be interpreted. We recorded the song 3 days later and the result was beyond what I had envisioned. BoA’s ability to interpret a song is excellent. BoA is still evolving,” Yoo Young Jin said.

“TVXQ’s been flying back and forth between Korea and Japan and in a year, they get to rest for only a week. The group’s vocal abilities have improved quickly considering how tired the members are,” Yoo Young Jin evaluated.

He also shared during the interview that he occasionally teaches TVXQ members on writing songs and advises them that writing songs is not about wanting it to be the title song of an album.

yeah. have to agree he is wonderful. DBSK's hits are mostly composed by him.

we're not supposed to ask for files but pm me and remind me--I only have his 3rd--and your case is kind of 'special' because he's not a gasoo people usually spazz over regularly--but he deserves to be heard because he has a great voice of his own, too, added to his incredibleness for songwriting.

This guy can be described with one word- absolute genius. I don't think there's a song that he wrote for DBSK, BoA, Zhang Liyin, HOT that I don't like.
