Throughout TV show IN2D, he has gained his nick name "HER-DANG Seung gi". Thesedays this 4 letters nickname is one of the most hot gossip among the people.


With interview in the afternoon on 5th, he had a cast on his left index finger. During the shooting on 23th of the last month in Jeju Island, he had a broken finger falling down to the lawn field. "It happens a lot. It could be with men's playing" He's smiling saying like this.


"During the filming, 20 cameras is working for 40 hours and recording our every single action. So it is impossible to calculate something or act pretending. We recognize the cameras only for 1 hour from the start. And then... We forget the cameras."


"From the beginning (first shooting), I even put on make up right after getting up in the morning" But not now. He naturally shows his bloated face and hair in mess without hesitation. Who's the most interested in appearance? He said KHD. The first question he asked in the morning "How about my hair? How do I look?" But really funny thing is that he never wash. "Even though we have a shooting 2n3d, I have never seen taking a shower or washing his face."


First time, he thought sleeping outdoors under heavy snow or strong wind is just program concept. But that was sorrowful fact in that site. He was shocked that this is real not fake. They are really working hard and feel exhausted but everytime standing in front of camera they get the powerful energy again.
"I couldn't have experiences that field trip or travel with colleagues in my campus life because of my entertainer works. But throughout this program, I can blow that sorrow.
The last episode part, the producer forced him to make a long term contract 2020 half in jest, half in earnest. "By that time, I will be 34 years old with my Jr. her-dang (his baby) in 1n2d. It will be really good for us to join together with the rest of member's babies into 1n2d"


He said he couldn't help showing the different aspect between Singer LSG and HER-DANG SG. "When I'm on the stage, I should concentrate to show my everything only for 3 minutes with well polished look. But in 1N2D, I can have a space to show my nature aspect and not polished part. There is a natural person in it. These both aspects are also me."

first, one of our problems here is his information. none of us knows korean and the forum cannot survive without the latest news update. i asked my friend for help and waiting for her answer. hope she will help us.

Thank you for all the effort in putting up those song links. I listened to probably half of them, didn't want to hear all cause I want to be suprised a bit too. But so far as I listened to the songs I can already hear Seung Gi in my head singing them. He chose well and they have his style and 'feel' written all over them. In some of the songs I already think he'll do a better job and sound better than the original, well I'm biased =) Can't wait.

As for the forum, I'll definitely support it and visit and join in on the discussions when I can. It is a valid point regarding double posting though. If it's mostly going to be the same people from this forum then there is a risk of repeating comments. But on the other hand, this can help draw new people who are interested in Seung Gi. Like the ones who do Google searches and wish to know him better. It would be a one stop for pics/news/videos, etc. I would like to help if I can too. Unfortunately I don't understand Korean so I can't offer help in that area.

^Thanks Vanny for the mv. I also was a little disappointed. No doubt he looked great in the photos but I thought the acting looked interesting in the interview you posted before so I assumed it was an acting mv. All in all, I think the concept that we're not given the details of the story is pretty good. It's like we'll all see something different and interpret the photos and sequence differently. And I guess this may generate interest?

It looks like a preview though. Look at the last picture w/ the date. Maybe this is just a promotion for his cd? Or maybe because he's putting out another album later in the year which will have a longer mv? I hope so.

Ok, I'm in the minority here but I like the new MV. It does remind me of the Sak Je MV (which i love also). It's totally a departure from his cutesy image. It's edgy, a really grown up Seung Gi. It's dark, but the cinematography is gorgeous. I like that he did not make a 30-minute story. This is more of reflective of the MTV-generation. His vocal is perfect. It's my favorite song of the whole album. I guess people either hate it or love it; both for good reasons. Hmm, still trying to figure out the story behind the MV though.

Thanks for putting up the YT links for his albums. Boy, I think that our Seung Gi is a closeted K-drama addict . Cause there are like 3 songs on there that were featured in dramas. I think almost everyone in Korea (and soompii here) knows by heart track 12 (The Lovers in Paris theme). It's an interesting choice. Wonder why he chose that. Can't wait to see him perform track 12 live. I bet it's going to be a really fun and crowd-pleasing performance. I like his song choices in this album (track 8 is another favorite). They're not all ballads. Hmm, wonder how that rock ballad going to be like. The album really shows his range and versatility which only few young singers in his generation have. It's unbelievable to think that he is only twenty one years old.

Re: forum. Unfortunately, I'm the most computer/tech-challenged person that you'll ever meet. I will definitely be more than happy to post but i can't do more than that. Boo hoooo. So sorry. I think it's a good idea, but soompi is still the best and largest gathering of his fans outside of Korea. It probably is good to increase his fan base here first (i.e.: more active posters) before you move the discussion to another forum. I think you may want to wait a bit to give him a bit more exposure. His popularity is on the rise, especially with new drama coming out. Then you can move the discussions to the forum. That way, with more people, the forum will be much livelier.... Just my humble opinion......

^bedifferent, for me, I just do a search on naver.com and find the videos there.
For the videos above, I've provided the direct links to the videos in the post. When you click on it, and it's your first visit to mnet, you'll need to install something (I think it's an ActiveX control? I'm not too good w/ computers either ). Then the video should work. Sometimes you'll get an error message when you try to play a video and I just refresh a couple times until it loads. If you still have trouble by tomorrow, I'll take some screen captures at work to show you.

Those videos above are about 20 mins each so it might take a while depending on your internet connection.

To start a discussion, what do you think LSG's MV is about? I don't think there are any wrong answers because it only highlights different points in time (not necessarily shown in chronological order) and anything can happen in between. And since there's no "story," there's no "character", only images.

o51029, here are my thoughts about the MV. (wow, posting 2xday is a new thing for me. Seung Gi is special ).
Hey, i didn't hear HIS album. I just saw the YT links that you've posted for the original/other artists. I commented based on those versions.

I know not a single word of Korean (or is it Hangul?). Well, maybe a handful ... most of them are like items on menus. So I'm guessing until I can see a subbed version of this. I went back and saw the original artist's version and compared it with this. And you know what, the two MVs are very similar; almost identical in theme. Someone corrects me if I'm wrong, please.... cause that's the first impression that i got from watching them. I think the Jo Kyun Man's version depicted a couple running away after a botched bank robbery ... or at least some sort of shaded event that have the cops following them. The guy (is he the singer , btw?) did speak English; but it was very hard to hear the convo completely over the music. Maybe someone can decipher them for us. The end showed that, after the argument, he let the girl go with the bag full of "stuffs" (can't make out the contents). He then sped away ... followed by the police ... then we see him get shot at the end... and the girl is safe. We did hear the gunshot at the end with her silhouette in the frame. That's all i can get from watching it, folks.

Soooo, Seung Gi's version is very similar. But seriously, couldn't they at least find a better looking actress for the video? (am I being mean or what, but can't help it.....Sorry). But the story is out of sequence. We can tell that there are two events since their clothings are different. There were scenes of them running from someone (like the above video). But from whom.. we are left to wonder? There were scenes of him leaving her (.. for her own good i think) and of him anguishing over the decision. Then we see cuts of Seung Gi preparing for some sort of confrontation, following chair throwing on the rooftop then getting shot as the result. Bottomline, he did some sacrificing for girlfriend. Boy, am I making sense at all, people? OK, now, it's you guys' turn to intepret the MV.


BTW, there are a few versions of this song out there. It's very popular. So I'm sure comparisons will be made - whose version is better, best, etc.... My personal opinion is that this is not the most vocally excellent version - is that grammatically correct? hahaha. I think that Jo Kyun Man's rendition is the best. However, Seung Gi made the song his. I was surprised that he did not belt out this song; cause we all know that he CAN. He gave a softer version. One that i think is meant to accompany a piano performance. You know like the "Because you are my woman" piano rendition of his in 2006. Too bad that his finger is messed up. I really can see this being a performance accompanied by his piano playing. It would be so romantic. The girls would go wild. I hope that we'll be able to see him performing that live someday.

regarding to the MV, i'm kinda glad this time they didn't make a music drama again. not that it's bad or something, i always love his acting, but sometimes a so long MV could make people get tired for. but how sad, they made it like this instead >"< but i am hoping it's just a preview or teasing, i can see the date at the end. i remember when i watched the preview of his MV White Lie, they also shew the date. hope this time is similar, or at least it should be a preview for his 2nd MV of this album...

well...about the plot, everyone has the own thought and it's just up to how you take it. i think it's the purpose of the MV they want? unclear persons, unclear conditions, we don't know who is him, what he is doing, where he comes from, like he's just a random guy we can catch somewhere in life. we don't know if something happened to them, who did it and who he fought with. from the start to the end there was only him. he threw the chair into no one, he hit the stick at nothingness, but he fought with his inner mind, seems his rival was himself. at the end he got shot, don't try to find out who shot him, you'll get no answer. take it as a metaphoric image. this type of MV could be hard to understand perfectly.

I also agree with the posts above about the girl. I actually thought she was playing a teacher character and he was a student. Why? because the setting seemed like a school so that's what I assumed.

Bedifferent - Oh, I didn't think to watch the original video. I actually got the opposite feeling of you that LSG is protecting the girl. I thought the girl was protecting LSG when she walked past him. I can imagine that her face after may have showed sorrow and regret. When she was hugging him from behind, I thought she didn't want him to go (and get beaten up and shot) and then she cried hard because she couldn't stop him.

Women envy Lee Seung Ki’s beautiful skin!

The skin care specialist company Gowoon Sesang Networks conducted a survey in its homepage from March 13-19 and asked which entertainer’s beautiful skin women are envious of. Out of 800 participants, 288 (36%) voted for Lee Seung Ki, which made the singer rank on top of the pack.

He was then followed by movie actor Jo In Sung (216 votes; 27%), Jang Geun Suk (117 votes; 15%) and Gong Yoo (45 votes; 6%).

Additional thoughts on Seung Gi's MV: I give him credit for taking a risk. It's always nice to see him grow as an artist. It must be hard to outgrow the teenage wholesome image. I'm glad that he finally takes the step. At least he's giving the ballad genre a personality boost (bringing a couple of younger fans with him in the process). You all know how boring ballad MVs could be. BTW, on second viewing, I like the video even more. The execution of the theme could be better; but it was very nicely presented. Some of the pictures could belong in a magazine spread. Hm, I wonder who the photographer is - that was nice work. It just occurred to me that Seung Gi is actually very good in front of the camera. There are models who just can't, even if their lives depend on it, exude life into the photographs. You know the type that model the clothes, but disappear behind them. No intensity whatsoever. He actually makes the image pops. I've always loved his profile. But some of his frontal shots were right on. It was all attitude, guys. Good job, Seung Gi.

Was glancing through them and saw a (really long) clip of him on a mission (for BOOM i think) to a school... something like that (I watched without understanding a single word..). It had me in stitches. Those school girls are so crazy. He looked really scared at some points. But was really gracious and a good sport for doing all of that. It was hilarious.... hahahaha.

oya already hear his song....mmmm but I think his voice just so so....I am a big fan from him..dont get me wrong..but I think the original version is much better than him, although he can make the song just like seung gi's version....

I wish someone would upload Xman #27. Too bad there's no sub for it but I thought he was cute in it. Spoiler: He is Xman in this episode!

The song you're talking about is the current song? I don't mind smooth but if the voice is too rough I don't like it as much. A little rough is best though. I haven't heard the first album so I can't say if I like his sound there or not. I have to admit I got to be a big fan of him first, because I thought he was funny and cute in xman and then second, I thought his voice was pretty good when he sang on xman. So I guess I became a fan based on his personality on shows. Maybe this is opposite of other people?


I can't wait until I can watch Happy Together. Only 1 more hour until it finishes downloading Vanny, the preview looks really fun. When he was dancing in his sunglasses, it reminds me of his short skit on heyheyhey. Aww, he reunites w/ his fellow xman regulars.

Like now, I'm thinking about that the girl was in a man's? shirt and no pants, but I don't think that Seunggi wore something like that in the video. So I'm wondering who was she with? And the intimate pictures with her in it, you can't see the face of the man...
