Hey, for once, I think that the album's version is actually better than the live one. Probably because LSG looks slightly nervous in these. It's not the same tempo as in the album- it's more rock ballad (to accommodate LSH I think). Gosh, his stage presence has improved so much since those early days. His duet with LSH is so sweet. You can tell that she has this maternal pride about him. It shows every time they sing together. Collaboration on stage probably requires a lot of give-and-take between the performers. It takes off not only from the chemistry but also the generosity between the artists. Both harmonize very well. BTW, that song is so 80-ish.
I have a cousin in Korea who told me that she heard LSG and his managers purposely decided to do remake albums because they really wanted to make him stand out as the youngest ballad singer, especially because he isn't a showy, sexy dancer/singer like an Usher. And, PART of the reason LSG's done remake albums is because he doesn't have the time to focus on working on original stuff at the moment, and also, Psy, who was hugely instrumental in the making of his first album, has been in the army...so hopefully, LSG won't be only doing ballads for too long?
Thanks for further translating his message. He's such a nice guy. Also thanks for the above. It confirms my guess about the album. It does feel kinda rushed. It just didn't have enough of the LSG-oomph. BTW, your mom would probably enjoy the above LSG-LSH "Dear J" clip.
glitzyglam: I was just kidding. I know they don't sell those stuffs on yesasia.
Track 1 (I'll give you all) was sung by JDG in All About Eve and by Rain/Bi in Full House. That was an easy one, girl! (Man, should I be embarrassed at all that I know these trivial facts ....)
ivey79: I looooove his radio performances. I think he's definitely more comfortable being off stage. He's able to concentrate on the songs more. And less on being cuteeee (Not that all of us particularly mind that!). Plus, he's able to wear all those cool street clothes!
So you actually prefer the ballad version of "Dear J"? It is very pretty, but his rock version in the album is not bad either. It's more rock than rock ballad like the above. It shows off his "old" voice really well. I'd love it if he does a couple of duets. With either female or male singers. But if it's a female, can I request Younha? I adore her.
