w00t.gif w00t.gif o51029: You're amazzzzing! Can you walk on water too? LOL. Thank you! You're so kind for digging up all these LSG oldies. They're great. Remind me of why I love this guy's voice.

Hey, for once, I think that the album's version is actually better than the live one. Probably because LSG looks slightly nervous in these. It's not the same tempo as in the album- it's more rock ballad (to accommodate LSH I think). Gosh, his stage presence has improved so much since those early days. His duet with LSH is so sweet. You can tell that she has this maternal pride about him. It shows every time they sing together. Collaboration on stage probably requires a lot of give-and-take between the performers. It takes off not only from the chemistry but also the generosity between the artists. Both harmonize very well. BTW, that song is so 80-ish. biggrin.gif (Well, you can't get any more 80's than a blue pleather jacket tongue.gif )

QUOTE (eequeezee @ Apr 1 2008, 01:04 AM) *
I have a cousin in Korea who told me that she heard LSG and his managers purposely decided to do remake albums because they really wanted to make him stand out as the youngest ballad singer, especially because he isn't a showy, sexy dancer/singer like an Usher. And, PART of the reason LSG's done remake albums is because he doesn't have the time to focus on working on original stuff at the moment, and also, Psy, who was hugely instrumental in the making of his first album, has been in the army...so hopefully, LSG won't be only doing ballads for too long?

Thanks for further translating his message. He's such a nice guy. Also thanks for the above. It confirms my guess about the album. It does feel kinda rushed. It just didn't have enough of the LSG-oomph. BTW, your mom would probably enjoy the above LSG-LSH "Dear J" clip. biggrin.gif

glitzyglam: I was just kidding. I know they don't sell those stuffs on yesasia. wink.gif I'm in Southern California. Love your side of the state though.
Track 1 (I'll give you all) was sung by JDG in All About Eve and by Rain/Bi in Full House. That was an easy one, girl! (Man, should I be embarrassed at all that I know these trivial facts ....)

ivey79: I looooove his radio performances. I think he's definitely more comfortable being off stage. He's able to concentrate on the songs more. And less on being cuteeee (Not that all of us particularly mind that!). Plus, he's able to wear all those cool street clothes! biggrin.gif "Hope and Desire"=love.

So you actually prefer the ballad version of "Dear J"? It is very pretty, but his rock version in the album is not bad either. It's more rock than rock ballad like the above. It shows off his "old" voice really well. I'd love it if he does a couple of duets. With either female or male singers. But if it's a female, can I request Younha? I adore her.
eequeezee
glitzyglam!!! you're Korean! Bahng-gahp-tAH!!! You're so lucky you live in the bay area where there are a lot of Koreans and Asians in general.
And bedifferent - you live in LA --- the city I know I will move to eventually and live forever --- AND you're just the coolest person.

I was born and raised and live outside of NY, and while there are Asians in the city, it's definitely not like SF or LA. I don't have many Asian friends because I'm one of THREE Asians at my entire school. I'm on the volleyball team (I'm pretty tall...) and the only junior captain on the team, and I still am sort of an outsider (sigh). If I didn't spend my Summers in LA, I'd die! glitzyglam, you will have to come down to LA this Summer after you get back from Korea and the three of us need to meet, and the two of you need to hang out with my mom and talk K-dramas - my mom watches just as much if not more dramas than you two HAHA!
Do you guys watch High Five before 1N2D? I want a High Five hooded sweatshirt SOOOOOOO bad!!!

o51029 - thanks so much for the vid. and bedifferent you're right about my mom liking the clipt haha --- I just woke up my mom to show the vid - she thought there was an emergency and was all YAH!!! when she realized I woke her up to watch a youtube clip haha - but then when she realized what it was she was so happy! thank you thank you!

Quick personal note about LSG - there was an episode of 1N2D - the one where they go to MC Mong's house to get the pots and pans for their trip (remember?). Anyway, while the guys were on the road, LSG started talking about how much fun 1N2D is. He said that after they tape the show, he watches it when it airs, and then watches it again like 5 to 7 times! My mom thought that that was SOOO cute - and that's when she really started to love him. Isn't that random haha.

Ok - off to sleep. Stay warm all!

'1박2일' 은지원-MC몽-이승기, 가수 맞대결

박재덕 기자 avalo@joynews24.com

but where's the 싯가 싯가 - sitga sitga from? i don't remember that?
okay, i feel like such a loser for looking it up;; lol, but i was curious..
it was when he was writing his contract and i guess they were negotiating with the PD (about the contract) and he asked for it??
lol, i don't really get it though because i don't know what 싯가 is sweatingbullets.gif

i found a blog with a list of all the funny stuff that defines lee seungki as 허당선생 so i'll do a little compilation of it later when it's not 5 in the morning sleep.gif;;

I've searching or Seung Gi vids a LOT lately and there's still more I haven't seen! =) Thanks for finding this vid. This is my favorite song of his from Remake 1. I haven't found a lot of live performances of this so I really appreciate this. Is it just me or does he sound particularily good on radio? The way his voice echos is wonderful. Thanks!
it's my favorite too! And yes he does tend to sound even better on radio~ live in general!

hehe i'm currently watching 소문난 칠공주 right now.. and it's so funny how much they advertised for his 1st remake album in that drama!! hahaaa they keep puting songs on in the background.. and they have scenes in which lee seungki just sings songs from that album... smile.gif

and I like the rock version better too.. it really gives a nice twist to the song and does emphasize his husky voice a lot smile.gif
lol, for some reason, you mentioning Younha just keeps reminding me of the when the 1N2D cast was watching TV and MC Mong was imitating her Wheesung's performance of Let's Get It Started...
lol, the part where they're like.. "Just shake it shake it shake it" &&Mc Mong totally distorts those words and makes it so hilarious... haha;;
sorry.. so random~

and aksorpa - sorry i can't do a formal translation because it's like past 5 and i don't even know why i'm awake, but it basically talks about how Eun JiWon, Lee SeungKi, and MC Mong are all coming out with music.. like Lee SeungKi with his 2nd remake album.. and MC Mong will be coming out with one.. and Eun JiWon will come out with a digital single...
and so it's basically saying how they're all friends and competing at the same time! smile.gif

Hi glitzyglam -
I was thinking about going to the Hollywood Bowl this year, but even with the star studded lineup, I'm not itchin' to go since LSG won't be there. MC Mong is supposed to be at the Peace Concert, and I'll be in LA then, AND it's at USC, the school where I want to matriculate come fall '09! I am 80% sure I'm going to the concert.
If you go to NY to visit your sister, PM me for sure, and we can meet!

My mom and I LOVE Jo Jye Ryun! She's great! I like HyunYoung in small doses...but she's cool because she's Kim Jong Min's lady - I miss Kim Jong Min! High Five is an enjoyable show - it's a nice appetizer before the main course that is 1N2s hehe.

Hope everyone's having a great week!

I think we kinda discussed his MV a couple of pages back. These were my thoughts back then:

QUOTE (bedifferent @ Mar 20 2008, 11:01 PM) *
It was not his best vocal. But listening to it a second time, I think he intended to give it a different spin. The song is meant to be a confession; a resigned one in fact. It's not a love declaration. If it was, the voice would have been stronger, with more conviction. To me, it feels like it's a man confessing, at the end of all ordeals, how he had given it all to the woman he loved. That he had risked and lost all for love. And he is tired. No? That's my take.

Yup, I miss his old voice too. But isn't this rendition sung in a similar tone as his later versions of "Hope and Desire"? Very subdued and fragile.

The song grew on me. Honestly, I was disappointed with this rendition (which I still think is not quite on par with Jo Kyu Man). It would have been perfect if Seung Gi sang it using his voice from Vol.2. But this version has a soft conversational quality to it (though some parts were lacking in power). It's still lovely in its own way. I respect that he gave it his own style. BTW, this song NEEDS to be performed via acoustic guitar. Especially with his voice.

Hmm, quiet thread. Just for fun, since we're being nostalgic with all these old video clips. I'd love to hear you guys' opinions on his Vol. 2 (Crazy For You). To me, it's the one that really give rise to LSG's voice and started all these mayhems ... ooops ... excitement among us- the twenties and under.

I like CFY, second only to his live concert album. I adore his voice in the concert. It was a clear, strong voice delivering the emotions and power perfectly. Crazy For You is notable for its range and really marked how much his voice has changed since debuting. It's a very distinct improvement. Three things that stood out for me regarding the album: (1) the album cover, (2) the variety in song choices and (3) "Words That Are Hard to Say". Nice head shot, I think someone mentioned "Beatles-like". A classic cover. The songs really show how versatile Seung Gi is. My favorites are Paradise, I Shout, Shapes of Your Lips and of course, Words That Are Hard to Say. That single is amazing. How he changed octaves in the middle of the song, after the first verse(s), is very impressive. The song is beautifully composed. He starts off low and deep, slowly builds the notes up to a soaring crescendo before ending where it all started. He made it look easy. w00t.gif

- REVIEW written by fan at Dong gook University (from .cafe.daum/leeseungki) -

That day in the afternoon...

As I was in my class, some friends told me sg was also at this place this morning.

I really feel depressed to hear about that.

I couldn't see sg at all...

foolish....

And then, I was waiting for my friends somewhere in college.

At that time passing by three male students leaving their class, I could catch big news like that

"I happened to see someone who I think resemble lee seung ki. But he was real LEE SEUNG KI."

I quickly run to vending machine right after hearing the information to give him some sprite.

I was not sure whether I can see him or not.

But I did it.

A few minutes later, real sg come out.

I went to him with sprite.

I said "Hi~ "

SG also said " Hi ~ " with smiling.

Then I gave him sprite..

He said "Thanks ~ " and disapeared with saying "Study hard ~~^^"

I don't remember the color of his outfit was dark brown or black.

But he was wearing leather jacket and jeans and in cap deeply,,,

and carrying a shoulder bag on the side.

2. the review by another fan.

- At the fan signing event (date : 9/2, 2007) -

(In sum up)

Oh, I finally met him in the signing event!!

.

.

When I gor his autograph, I asked for this message to sg in front of me.

"Yoon Jung.

Study hard and We should marry after 2 years !!"

Showing my memo, he was looking at me with laughing hard.

I feel so embarrassed but I was really happy to see his smiling by me.

So I was laughing with him together.

Finally.

He wrote this.

"Yoon Jung,

Study hard and We should see around after 2 years!! KK"

I can see his great sense of humor wirting this word "KK"

And.

the last step.

Shaking hands!!

When I shook hands with him.

How warm his hands are ~~!!!!!

Really comfortable feeling...

I couldn't explain just by words.

I was really really happy at that day.

Thank you. Finally got a chance to see this. That was great. The beginning was a bit shaky but once he adjusted, he never lost control. The last 1:30 was classic LSG. Perf definitely not the same as the MV/album. Much much better (even with the poor audio). This version is very close to the original. Very nice. His live is going to be awesome. Can't believe he's twenty-one year old. His voice has so much depth and rich timbre now.

To be honest, I did cringe at some parts ... it's mixed emotions for me with that album. Still, the sincerity in his voice just make you smile. The potential was definitely there.

Okay, here are my thoughts now that I've digested (yummy tongue.gif ).

The negatives: The first time I listened to the album, I was very surprised at his voice, especially with the first few songs. And those songs really colored my perception of the rest of the album. I was never a fan of the 2nd song "Moth's Dream" though I really like his drawn out power notes in it. I'm just not into the melody of it. I think someone here mentioned that his "rough" voice seemed forced and wasn't his natural voice. I agree with that after listening to that second song and a couple of other songs. It somehow didn't seem natural. I also thought that in some songs he seemed almost...monotone? I don't know if that's the right word to use. He didn't showcase his range in some parts. Those were my thoughts on the first listen sweatingbullets.gif

The positives: Listening to the album as a whole, overall, I have to say the songs are more my type of songs. I don't typically listen to ballads a lot. I'm more of a rock person and enjoy faster music. I don't know what it is about this boy that I'm listening to his ballad music laugh.gif The songs themselves are good. I definitely prefer this type of album over the slower ballad albums. I agree with you, he showed a lot of potential in his first cd. I quite like the album now.

^^ I like the 3rd song (except for the rap part, it just doesn't fit!). It sounds fun smile.gif
I think "Because you're my girl" definitely stood out and was a good title song for him.
Is that him rapping in "Father"? I know he rapped the parts in his concert but I really can't tell with his voice. It really sounds like a different person!
"Sak Jae" I like it okay ^^ I think that had to do with seeing the video though sweatingbullets.gif I think I like his live performance better.
I thought "On the road to vacation" was a little monotone but I liked the last minute or so of it. It was a pleasant song.
"You inside of me" was boring.
"Music Time". I think he had a...youngish voice here. It wasn't perfect vocally but it was alright.
"Dear J" was a pretty good rockin song.
The last song, I really really really like smile.gif Really good song. It's just...BIG, like the whole orchestra and chorus.

< SG's message >

Nice to meet you all, AIREN ~ This is Lsg.

I'm so sorry. It's been a long time to say hello.

It has been spring here. How it going? You might be busy thesedays. ^^

Finally, my new album is released~~~

I already have got the new album but I think launching activities of brodcasting will start on April.

That's why I leave this medssage the first of this month. ^^

Accidently today is April Fools' Day.

I feel better with this new remake album than any other one.

There is no specific reason but I'm in the state of clear mind to everything I have.

Furthermore, there is so great supporter AIREN that complete and surpport me physically and spiritually.

and that makes me feel so good.

I'll return your affection and appreciation with ever green attitude from the start and improved aspects of myself.

Let's keep it up to make a great success with this album "When a man loves a woman Vol.2"

by hand in hand together~!!

DAE-BAK!!! (= Hit the jackpot), This Album !!

DAE-BAK!!!( = Hit the jackpot), "I'll give you all" !!

Always thank you, AIREN... ^^

---------------------

(my comments)

I think this is a really strong promotion message. ^^

Yeah. It could be or might be frank statement...

He really emphasizes "Dae-Bak!! (this means "Hit the Jackpot" or" Big Hit" ).

So cute.

his MV just got 5th place in KBS CHART..I think it's just good for starting blush.gif

hey, o51029, thanks for making it real. It's ok, you should not have to like all his songs. It just make him human. I was bracing for a oh-my-god-he's-so-fine-he's-so-mine kinda review. Thank god I was wrong. You didn't disappoint. hehehe

I agree. I'm truly not a ballad type of a person either. What makes LSG different (or perhaps intuitively smart) is that he picks the right songs for his vocal. His ballads are catchy, slightly edgier and always compliment his singing ability. So you end up not hearing the same run-of-the-mill mainstream ballads. Good example is his Remake #1. A lot of people actually like his reinterpretations more than the original works.

I thought volume 1 is almost the total opposite of his Remake #2. It's a lot of unharnessed energy; not as much finesse and control. Remake # 2 is, on the opposite, all emo! Too much emo in fact. Re Vol.1: I like the raspy voice in some of the songs, but not in others. In some songs, he did sound a little too ... loud. You're right, he does sound flat in a few songs because there were a slight lack of emotions in them.

I like the 3rd song also. Rapping is his, song is fun.
Because You're My Girl: love the music video so it's definitely a thumbs up. He sang well in it.
Sak Jae is better sung later in the live album. He was able to hold the notes longer there. There were more control with the higher notes in the concert.
Dear J = teenage garage rock band. It's highschool-ish, appropriate for his age.
The last song is interesting. Almost movie soundtrack like with all the background instruments. Not quite sure of its intention. Glad you like it. Though it did not quite go with the rest of the album.

Overall, the album is a pretty good 1st album for a seventeen year old. One with some powerful pipes. It was different enough and make good use of his vocal. It's good but not excellent all the way through. But I like it for its sincerity. He gave it a good try. Maybe trying too hard at times like you said.

Thanks for the conversation. I really appreciate your YT uploads. They're awesome works. **clap** biggrin.gif

Lee Seung Gi - 다줄꺼야 (radio live)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s4et3hEWBvA

Wow. This is the first live performance I've seen from his remake album. It was nice, interesting. He's definitely attempting a different singing style. Very soft and subtle. As pretty as it is, it also drives me a little crazy though. It feels as if he's holding back is voice and all the while I'm dying for him to let it out. What I've always appreciated about his voice is the way the melody just comes out so smoothly and easiy as if there's no resistance. But this type of singing style is soo... restrained I guess. I was happy towards the end when he was able to let go a little more for the higher notes and climax. Bedifferent, your right he is amazing for being 21. His tone, richness, range, and control is more like someone who's sung for 10 years. Overall a nice performance and it's always soooo good to see him on radio. His eyes are always closed with intensity and concentration as if he's in his own musical world.

I'm very very pleased with is haircut =) And thank you for the two fan accouts. He is such a friendly, down to earth kinda guy. I can imagine it what it would be like to come up to him and say hi. He so shy and courteous. He's pretty witty too. That was smart of him to change up that girls message for him to sign. He made her happy without having to write something so awkward. Smart, cute, talented, and great fashion sense too... what a perfect guy, no? =)

My my, where to begin. Thank you so much for the audo files. I have been in search of a lot of these for a long time. This thread has made my night. And I did notice his finger too. In the radio link above, I noticed while he was singing and holding onto the mike stand the finger wasn't quite aligned with the others. It would always be a little more bent or pointing out. Poor boy, still healing I guess. It'll probably take some time afterall he did need surgery to patch things up.
His outfits do look awesome =) The leather jacket is his I believe since I've seen him wear it a few times.

Hi to all - hope everyone's healthy and happy ~~~

o51029 - thanks for all the links to the vids!
bedifferent - you should write for Rolling Stones! Totally agree with your thoughts about Give You My All - that it's a resigned confession, so the style in which he sings the song isn't his best vocally --- I do think he's purposely sacrificing the masterful vocal for the emotions he is trying to project.

In one of the vids recently posted (the Mnet 2 parter) - he was asked what he likes better - singing or acting:
He said that he has always wanted to be a singer, and he launched first with his singing, so he's partial to singing, but he understands that acting is vital to his singing because...
Older singers have told him that to really sing ballads well, you have to have experienced the wide spectrum of emotions that love elicits from a person, and he believes that this is true. However, for him, whose experience in love isn't vast yet, he has to really act as if he has, and the acting while singing is crucial, because after all, he's not a dancer/singer, where the body's performance is really crucial. So what he does is watch a lot of sad dramas and vicariously experience what the characters experience, and channels their emotions when singing...

I thought that was kind of funny. And I thought that the above was a really honest admission from LSG about not having gone through a lot of the emotional hardships that his songs are about. It also tells me that he's a fantastic actor, because I believe everything he sings (and acts)!!!

4:25am here. 3 hours of sleep before school - but it's FRIDAY!!!

Peace and love!
Shout out to aksorpa for the pic spam! I don't know why, but I laughed out loud when all that was posted was "enjoy" and then there were ALL THESE PICS haha!
Shout out to glitzyglam unnie just because!
And shout out to bedifferent just because too! Are you currently attending UCLA? Or did you go there? I am also going to apply there, and will consider attending if I get in, but I feel I would get lost there, if that makes sense... I've toured both campuses and there's more of a school feel at USC for me, again, if that makes any sense. Anyhoo - who knows, maybe I won't have to go to college if I marry LSG and have his children!!!

ROFL. Shhh, not too loud! Vanny and dindunz are still in the house. Even with them gone, you may have to duel it out with ivey79 for the above. And I’m not sure about that aksorpa either. She's the quiet one. laugh.gif

I’m a wannabe grad at UCLA - on my way out. Yes, you should seriously consider!

Happened to see this on my way out for the weekend:

http://youtube.com/watch?v=yZeNmTLjkpo

I'm going to be honest. I really wanted to love this performance. Really. I really do. I think he's a great guy with a wonderful voice. Yet in the end, I couldn’t will myself to love this one. unsure.gif

First impressions:
1. the performance: mainstream K-pop ballad. Not the LSG-special.
2. the look: mainstream K-pop balladeer. Still need to warm up to this new do.
3. the crucial missing one minute. Uh, What happened to my climax?

The stuffs that I liked:
Asides from a few (uncharacteristic) vocal mistakes, I was won over by his remarkable voice. It was just lovely hearing someone (so young) hitting the high notes so cleanly and effortlessly. It was not perfect but was nice. The delivery was sure.

The stuffs that I was not impressed about:
He looked exhausted. Older than his age. He over compensated the emotions in the song. Dare I say: too much drama. Once again, the passion is not there. He sounds very much like he does in the music video. I like his radio recording much better. Personally, the end of “I’ll Give You All” salvages the piece for me. It’s where he makes his entrance, where he nails the performance. It’s his signature close-up. The change in the ending took that away. I’m left with a disappointing “huh? That’s it?” It’s interesting how taking away one minute in the wrong place alter the impact of the song. That’s unfortunate.

Since I’m unapologetically shallow, I must say that I’m not feeling the outfit or the hair. Maybe I’m just missing the old signature black shirt/black pants combo. Maybe I’m just being nostalgic from watching all these oldie clips. That must be it.

I’d love for him to belt it out on stage decked out in his denim and leather jacket. With no reservation. No holding back. Put his whole heart into it. And have fun while doing it. It would have been a bit more real. I would have been blown away. Maybe others as well.

Have a nice weekend, everyone!

just like it has a darker part at his finger joint, and looks like swelling..it shouldn't be like that huh?? unsure.gif
it's kind of his left finger has infection inside..kind of festering (sorry for the uncomfortable vocab, I cant find the fit one)
omoooo.. maybe Im just too worry.. sweatingbullets.gif

LOL Dindunz, you and your extreme terminology . . . festering makes it sound as though there were maggots eating on his flesh. It is normal for the area that has been in plastercast to be darker in hue (colour) due to the fact that there are dead skin cells because that area has not been in contact with water and soap, no washing at all. So a thicker layer of dead skin cell will form. Once this layer of dead cells (like those you find at the sole of your feet, the thick kind when your feet are too dry) peel off, you will find a new layer of pink soft skin (as soft as baby's skin) without any fingerprints yet beneath it.

Someone commented about alignment, when a bone fractures, bones do not join point to point. They actually overlap and tissues will bind around the overlapped area to hold it in place. Bones can never join back like the way one would weld 2 pieces of metal together. So it is still normal. As long as he has not lost the ability to bend the finger or lost the feeling of touch, it is perfectly alright still. See my earlier comment about injury a few pages back.

So all of you . . . PLEASE DON'T WORRY SO FRANTICALLY about his little mishap.

Wow LSG is such a good singer.
Bedifferent: Thank you for your input on the song.
I agree that this song is like a man's confession.
His voice has changed gradually throughout his albums.. but I think the voice that he sang this song with gave the song a quiet sorrowful and yearning aura about it.

I wonder if he will ever use his old voice (the voice of "Youre my woman") for a new song...

or if that is even possible...

What if his voice changed as he matured and that the boyish rawness to his voice is gone???

or..I think that all the singing practice and vocal coaching they made him do... was a factor in taking away the charming factor of his husky voice that we so loved from his first album. His voice is now very smooth and refined.
His new mature voice and style sounds more like all the typical ballad singers.

Nevertheless, I love LSG. I think I have a LSG addiction!!! blush.gif

Thanks so much for the YDH Loveletter links. I haven't watched the whole show yet, but I did get to the Youtube links. That was soo much fun to watch him do that PSY number. When I saw it during his concert I absolutely thought it was crazy/fun for him to have come with something like that to do. It thru me off guard and surprised me in a good way. The cute gestures, funny faces, in between dance moves, you can definitely tell his dancing has improved tremendously since his Xman "Ussoh" days =). I think the concert really improved his coordination/rhythm and confidence in dancing. The energy was just great in this number.

And I'm glad he did this other song here too. I felt this was one of the few songs on this new album that resembled what I think is Seung Gi's signature sound. The emotion (not over drama), the song style, and the climatic ending. Altough he wasn't quite able to hit the high notes like he did in the album, I remember because I was so impressed with that part of the song. I hope he continues to promote this song more because I prefer it over the title track so far.

And Polaris: the issue on his "original/raw voice" is a long standing talk now. It would be nice to hear that rawness again, but as some have said that may not have been his "true" voice to begin with. He's gone through so much training and there's really no avoiding changes in singing style and growth as he continues with his career. It's true his voice has gotten a lot smoother, but I do believe that rawness is still there if he wishes to use. Some think it's less original and some think it's more beautifull depends on how you like it. I think verything he's learned is still with him, but he may be still trying to find himself and what he wants to sound like. Only 21! It'll be fun and interesting see him on his musical journey, we may have differences of opinion but in the end I think the journey is his take and we're just fans who are tagging along with him. =)
o51029
^ You're welcome happy.gif
I also prefer that song over the title track. The only thing is I wish I didn't listen to the original before hearing LSG's version. I think I would have enjoyed it a lot more because I kept thinking that the original sounded better. I still like LSG's version but my thoughts were a bit tainted.

Polaris, that was exactly what I was thinking. His voice in his first album sounded young, like the teenager he was. On the second album his voice matured I think (he was 19 then? Wow still young). I think vocal coaching will change his voice because he'll learn different techniques to sustain it.

He's back! biggrin.gif Whew, these just totally made up for the earlier performance on Music Bank. Sheesh! Thank you for the uploads.

The People Who Make Me Sad fits his large voice perfectly. I actually overlooked this song in the album. The ending is like amazingly difficult. He almost pulled it off. For a minute there, I was holding off the comparison to Park Hyo Shin (which automatically prompts the thought of whether he'll perform track 5 - Yearning- live). That was so real! I love it. Yay, black again. OK, I'll stop wishing for him to wear blue from now on. Never. Ever. Ever do that again, bedifferent!

Celebrity was so much fun. Looks like he enjoyed performing it as much as the audience like watching it. Love the stage charisma and showmanship. I really needed that. To see the guy rockin' the stage again. I must have the biggest grin on my face watching this perf. biggrin.gif

Thanks again. You're a sweetheart for doing all of this.

^^ oh, it's the voice issue again? If he continues to branch out like he is right now, singing up and down the spectrum of musical genres, he will use all of his potential. My only care is that he uses all of whatever "voices" he has built up in his arsenal over the years. And to always surprise us with his talent. I think that it's us who probably are surprised at his range. (Or maybe it's just me, not all of you). I don't think he is. One thing I love about the guy is his fearlessness. He seemed to be the type who enjoys the challenge. I remember reading somewhere that they think he is a perfectionist. That's good, cause he'll never be lazy and settle for singing just ballads. Good thing he's so young. And so talented.

Lee Seung Gi - I'll Give You Everything (Jo Kyu Man) YDH LL
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0nANwx9Cu5w

So much different than the Music Bank perf. Beautifully done. I even like that it was not perfect. It's a performance from the heart. No drama. It's literally was his I.will.give.you.all to the audience. As always, his live performances make all these songs come alive. I think it is so wrong for me to expect him to always deliver. Yet he never failed. That's just so amazing. I have never been so happy to eat my words. **go back to listen to the album again**

Side note: Can I just say how much I like YDH LL? It's my favorite music venue. The atmosphere is personal and inviting. The stage is not overwhelming. I love its simplicity. The band rocks. The audience is respectful. No fangirl seizure attacks. No balloon fest or signs. It's just the performers connecting with the music and the audience. Even the camera work is top-notched. The way the lights picked up as he dived into the chorus part of the song is awesome. It's not a coincidence that a lot of great performances happened on this stage.

Thank you for the upload again. Wow, a lot of people are parking on this thread tonight.

At this rate, maybe we can listen to all the songs on his album live happy.gif

bedifferent, I think fans always want (and expect) the best for the artists they like. For one, they want to enjoy the performance. 2, they want other people to like the artist too and hope that the artist gains more fans.
I think I said it before that fans are often the most critical of an artist because they pay the most attention.
Hehe, our critiques are done with love happy.gif It just means we're passionate about him.

It was the first time I watched YDH LL straight through rather than watching clips. I agree it was awesome. Very impressive. And I like that we're given time to enjoy and get to know an artist, rather than just one performance, then the next person/group comes on. This time we got to see other songs performed. I must admit that White Lie and Why... got tiresome after the first few times he sang them sweatingbullets.gif

^^Awww, I really enjoyed this week's episode. The usual heart-warming rapport among the five casts was there obviously. I almost cracked a few ribs laughing from watching their rehearsals. OMO, I can never get over how huge their comforter is. It spans almost the entire width of the room. To me, the gem of this segment is the Korea Sings part. Not necessarily the 1N2D's performance, but of the town people's. That was sweet. It's nice to see how music and entertainment can affect people lives for the better. There are always disagreements in the idea of reality shows. Some people love it, some despise it. However, when it is done right (like in this episode), it touches you with its candidness. I can see why Seung Gi did not want to leave the show. I wouldn't either.

This song will forever define the 1 Night 2 Days group of misfits for me. It's uplifting, cheery and just plain happy. Just like their friendship. Thank you for the upload.
