just watched the FIELD TRIP EPISODE. OMG it was SO SWEET
Here are some of my thoughts and explanations. I think that some of this will definitely help you guys better understand what went on, and I think (I hope anyway...) I'll give you guys a bit more context to some things in addition to the subbed episode (when it airs).

THE "WORD" GAME (KKOONG KKOONG DDAH)
The idea is to say three syllables that make up a word that makes no sense and has no meaning whatsoever. The next person has to say the third syllable from the previous person, then add two more syllables to create a new word that makes no sense and has no meaning. If someone thinks a person created a word that makes some kind of sense, he yells out "time!" and calls that person out...

KimC said REE KKOOK PPAHK, and EJW yells out "time!" and says that KimC said MEE GOOK MAHL, which means "English" in Korean. Everyone tells EJW that he heard wrong, so EJW is proven wrong.

LSGeun says AHL SSAH PPANG --- MCM needed to say PPANG blank blank, but instead he said KEH KOH KAHK, so he messed up. The guys make fun of MCM, saying that he had his three syllable word ready to throw out as soon as it got to him, but he forgot to keep in mind the simple rule of the game.

KHD says KKOONG AHL PPONG, and LSG calls "time!" KHD laughs because he has no idea how LSG is going to make sense of the word. KimC is really interested to hear LSG's explanation, which turns out to be really funny. He says someone kicks (KKOONG is the sound of the kick) someone in the balls (AHL is slang for balls in Korean) and the persons balls burst, making a PPONG sound. KHD says that that makes no sense and calls a vote, and they all agree it makes sense (more because they just want to support their little brother).

Hope this explains the game...

I'm not 100% sure about this, but I think EJW, MCM, and KHD were going to have to sleep outside (without a tent), and LSG, KimC, and LSGeun were going to sleep inside a tent. The Producer said that if one of the three (L, K, and L) ate what's left of the roll KHD made, then everyone would be able to sleep in the tent. MCM pleads that someone do it, as he has his comeback performance that evening (and doesn't want to risk getting a cold? losing his voice?).

KimC the DAL-IN
Okay, here's the explanation of DAL-IN. KBS has a sketch comedy show called GAG CONCERT (the show LSGeun is a castmember of). On the show, there's a castmember Kim Myung Ban (a very good friend of LSGeun) who plays DAL-IN, which means "a person with a strange or unique ability." This is a takeoff on the hysterical character that Kim Myung Ban has created.
Here, LSG is saying that KimC the DAL-IN cannot at all taste or smell anything fishy.
If you guys remember when LSGeun ate a lemon, KimC introduced LSGeun the DAL-IN as someone who cannot taste anything sour, and another time in an earlier episode, LSGeun introduced KimC the DAL-IN as someone who can spin around constantly but never get dizzy (only to have KimC fall immediately after spinning).

LSG DANCING
LSGeun tells LSG - "Seung Giya, you really danced well...been meaning to tell you...saw you on (YDH) Love Letter...I was totally surprised..." The guys chant "Show us! Show us!" LSG goes into his routine and after a while, LSGeun says, "Now that I see it up close, he really CAN'T dance...he seemed so cool on TV."

While sleeping, EJW complains about his back hurting so he goes and sleeps inside his entourage's van. He SUCKS! Sleep in the tent!!! I know he's supposed to be KID-JW (Eun-Cho-Ding) but he's LAME! LAME like that girl's song you rap in. WHY EJW WHY?!?! That song is so BAD! UGH.

LSG WASHING HIS HAIR
This part was pretty funny because he says that all he needs to do is unruffle the parts of his hair that are out of place from sleeping (literal translation is "...just need to press down the birds nests..."). Then they tell us how 7 months before, LSG would wash his hair even with ICE COLD water but somewhere along the way, he started to wash his face with a mere wet tissue (haha), to which LSG says, "I would have never thought of washing (my face) with this...(my house is right there) I NEVER imagined I'd be using a wet tissue in Seoul (this clip was obviously taken from the Lemon episode where they went camping in Seoul - not some far, remote place). The cut ends with LSG in his white beanie, with the sub reading, "LSG resolves everything (his hair issues) with a hat"
(Glad LSG is shedding some of his girly-ness. This is a must before we marry. I cannot get married to someone who preens himself more than me!)

MCM and LSGeun AS WAITERS
They were SOOOOO funny. MCM introduces himself by saying he guarantees booking!!! Booking is when waiters at nightclubs bring guys over to girls' tables and girls over to guys' tables --- it's so not kids related! --- oh my gosh that was so funny!!! LSGeun asks the kids if they have cars to valet! LSGeun not being able to get the plate of sweet and sour pork from KHD because he's short! MCM eating some of the kids' noodles!

MCM and MINI MONG
MCM - are you going to be sad when hyung leaves?
MM - we're not going to see each other again... (this was really a sub for what the kid was thinking - I didn't see or hear the kid actually say that...)
MCM - Punch in your phone number in here.
(MCM - stop trying to steal my heart away from LSG!!!)

KHD WITH THE KIDS AT THE END
The boy in glasses asks KHD who he hates the most out of the cast. KHD says he loves everyone and then asks the girl who she thinks KHD hates the most and why. The girl says, "Seung Gi oppa, because he's good looking." (HAHA!) Then KHD asks, "Seriously though, am I not better looking than LSG?" An easy NO from the kid haha.

EJW redeemed himself A LITTLE BIT by giving the girl a piggy back ride. I'm surprised he didn't complain! I'm not being mean to EJW - I just want to be clear. I'm giving him some much needed tough love!

Hee hee. thanks eequeezee, your summariese are always a joy. And this bit about the hair is really funny. It's good to see him let loose and be natural, but at the same time I LOVED the hair washing parts. It was always amusing to see how he does, how he reacts to the freezing cold water, and how everyone else makes fun of him. One of my favorite parts was the ep where after he washed up he walked in barefooted with rolled up pants, a brightly patterned hoody, and ultra urban gear bag which evently had all of it's exposed. I've watched that bit over and over too. Ok, well of too see the latest ep. Check back in later.

oh and jymldaisy, is that a recent pic of Seung Gi? Is it the angle or could it be true. No scarf, bow tie, neck tie, hankerchief, etc? I hope so. =)

Lots of news regarding schedule conflict between 1N2D and Iljimae for LSG. The fight for our guy apparently has begun:

With Lee Seung Gi cast in MBC’s Iljimae (not to be confused with Lee Junki’s drama on SBS), rumors are swirling that he’ll quit his current role on KBS’s variety show 1 Night 2 Days. Producers are saying talk of his departure is premature; facts are as yet unknown with Iljimae’s production schedule still unreleased.

This could possibly turn out to be a high-profile production of which, no doubt, endless comparisons will be made. Plus it involves bragging right for the two stations that are at odds with each other. Please, MBC, make it worth the hype. I think Seung Gi will probably have to make a choice between his love for variety show and his desire to be an actor soon. I don't know if it's easy or rewarding to leave the K-pop music environment where he's so well-liked to enter the competitive cut-throat world of K-drama. I guess it is where his future, his longevity, as an entertainer lies. I hope he's ready for the challenge. I'm already feeling uneasy for him. I just wish that it's a different type of drama. (Still can't get over the fact that it's a historical/fusion sageuk. What a way to debut as a leading man.) The end of the year promises to be filled with many good dramas, one of which is the highly anticipated KBS' remake of cult-favorite Hana Yori Dango. Please don't let his series be going head-to-head with this one. It will be ugly if it does. I wish him lots of luck. Wahhh, I would definitely feel the loss if he's gone from 1N2D.

I couldn't help it. I agree that IT has a life of it's own. But because of your words I went back and gave it a second shot and I'm glad I did. It was so crazy watching the rain and wind and Seung Gi's hair flying all over the place. LOL. He did such a stand up job of keeping the song going even though I know he coulnd't have felt that comfortable on stage. Even with all that, he sounded terrific and probably put a little heat in more than one fan girl's heart out there. He is a profesional. And I had thought the weather was getting better in Korea. They were wearing T's and shorts already on the latest 1n2d. Speaking of which, this was another fun and funny episode. Those college kids got a free show. What an cool idea to visit a university. Eeqeezee if your reading this, I would love a little clarification on the intro. Seung Gi was talking up a storm and then they all started bowing. LOL. Don't know how, but if I would if I could. Does that mean I get to touch him too? hee hee. me bad. Anyways, It would be such a huge loss for the show if he left. I kinda feel it's inevitable if the drama does start filming. When would he get to rest if not? For his sake it might be the best thing, otherwise it would just be too draining. I'm dreading it though. I really need my weekly fix you know. I might go into withdrawl otherwise and end up doing a marathon of old Seung Gi game shows to ease the withdrawl.

Bedifferent, in regards to your comments on Seung Gi and acting. I also agree with you in that Seung Gi's future and longevity should lay in pursuit of a career in acting. Although he is gaining popularity through 1n2d's right now, I don't really believe he would get much further than he is currently without pushing for something new and different, especially since he's a ballad singer. As with most musicians these days, acting is a sure way to reach a wider audience and all it takes is one good role to achieve a level of stardom thats hard for musicians to reach. I too find it a little awkward to have your first major role in a saguek, but who knows. Could be a real success. I just think it's a good idea he's taking new risks and changing things up a little. I will also pray MBC puts some serioud effort into this production. It's already got a few odds stacked up against it. But I have a feeling Seung Gi won't disapoint. He's got potential as a real good actor and he's never disapointed me before. Well except for the recent fashion fiasco, but I'll just commit myself to continue to believing it's all the stylist's fault.

Just so you know, I've recovered from yesterday's emotional meltdown after watching the KBS Open Concert. Don't worry, I'm sane now. This post will make more sense, I promise.

While I can barf at the bow-tie, I wouldn't know how to better LSG's dress...

I really really really hope LSG doesn't leave 1N2D. The show has hit such a great stride once the cast settled in and developed its chemistry (remember when they would bring on a guest to go the trip each week?). That kind of chemistry is so hard to find! Look at what's happened to MUAN DOJUN after Haha left for the army Though I do think that 1N2D can recover if LSG left the show...

eequeezee: hehe... You're pretty close. No, I'll be in the Bay Area this summer. 1N2D will be fine. It's a lovely show.


IMHO, LSG’s Volume 1 is semi-rock with a twist. You may find songs there that appeal to your taste. Whereas the first album was one that introduced his unique voice, Volume 2 does a good job showcasing his singing range. I think it’s the album that gave him recognition. These are my personal favorites:

Volume 1:
Track 10: To J (totally rockin’ tune)
Track 9: Music Time

Volume 2:
Track 5: Mask (which had very little play time due to the Britney Spears’ legal woes)
Track 7: Once
Track 10: Beautiful Girls
Track 3 (Shape of Lips) and Track 13 (Today, The same night) are more rock ballads

I’m sure others have their favorites also. Hope this help.

By the way, do you think the scarf thing is his signature style for this album? Like that jacket with the bottom half dangling was his signature costume for the previous album.

OH thank you o51029 for this performance. I really really enjoyed it. It's so rare to get to see Seung Gi do rock and stretch his voice like that. Since I just recently started listening to Korean music please forgive my ignorance, but I didn't realize Lee Sun Hee could rock like that. She sings ballads with such a gentle voice, it just blew me away to hear her power through those songs (although it was a little loud at times). I can definitely see where Seung Gi gets his training and influence. The huskiness, the emotion, and even the way they hold notes. He did a wonderfull job too, but you could tell he was trying really hard to match her. She seems like a really great mentor. You could see her always pointing in Seung Gi's direction and trying to give him more of the spotlight, just trying to show off her pupil =). I think I thoroughly enjoyed this flashback mainly because it reminded me how strong and how wide a range Seung Gi's voice really is. His own songs are great, but sometimes they have such a similiar style that he doesn't get to show off all the other things he can do. Thanks again

o51029, thank you so much for the two clips. I watched both back to back and was not even surprised at how much I enjoyed the former over the latter. It's my second time seeing both Ms. Lee and Seung Gi performed Arirang; the Hollywood Bowl perf was the first. It's always special to see both together on stage. I totally agree with ivey79. We miss seeing Seung Gi letting loose and belting out these rock songs. I like the guy but can't help but cringe a little when I saw the Mnet Super Concert clip. Oh boy! On the other hand, the LSG/LSH clip totally rock my sock. It's nice to see that talent and potential again. Definitely reminds me how much of a wonderful guiding presence Ms. Lee had over his career. You can see an obvious change in his public persona and stage presentation after she was gone. I simply adore them when they're together. You can FEEL her maternal pride and SEE her generosity. It was truly a blessing for LSG to have been at the receiving end. She helped to shape LSG to be the entertainer that we all come to love. This LSG is the guy that I hope to see once in a while. I miss that natural unchecked enthusiasm, the free emotion, the unrehearsed stage presence...the wonderful voice. He must have been nineteen in that clip and couldn't have sound any better. Or look better. Looking back, I think that particular year, 2006, was a great LSG vintage year. (Ah, the nostalgia)

Woot, ivey79 - you're going to have a great time at the HB! I'm jealous. Please do watch out for fangirls... uhh, and fanboys! You have to post pictures when you have them, yah? The selfish part of me wants him to stay on 1n2d while the rest wants him to stay healthy and succeed in his acting (and therefore leave 1n2d). I hope the Iljimae schedule comes out quickly so the producers of 1n2d and LSG can prepare for it.

Oh o51029, I LOVE you. Those clips of Seung Gi, Jung Rin, and Lee Sun Hee were awesome. It's very common for trainees to live in dormatories provided by their companies, but how rare is it for a mentor to actually take in their pupils into their house and home. THAT'S dedication. And LSH has a beautiful home too, simple and clean. Seung Gi and Jung Rin were so cute, like obedient little children running around in their auntie's home. I think this was the first I actually felt that Seung Gi felt like a teenager/child. Bedifferent, you are right though, Sun Hee is more than just a mentor, she is a maternal figure. Guiding Seung Gi along his musical carerr, but also teaching him how to be a person both on and off stage. He is an extremely lucky boy and no doubt we all miss her influence in his singing. But as much as I miss the old Seung Gi, a part of me really likes the Seung Gi now too. He's matured and the confidence and freedom he has while working the stage is much better than it use to be. Wit the exception of the slow ballads, when he sings the fast or more uptempo songs he's seems more comfortable, relaxed, and shows a little more cheekiness than he use to. Of course this is probably what you gain with experience. Fashioin/look wise, 2006 was definitely the best year.

By they way, perchance are you a Shinhwa fan bedifferent? This may be the wrong place to admit this, but before Seung Gi there will always be Shinhwa. Shinhwa was my first love and the ones that got me into Kpop. I'm particularly excited about going to HB just because of Minwoo (freakin awesome performer!) and if you haven't heard any of Shinhwa's stuff lately...yes... you are missing out, cause it's going to be a loooong time before you'll get a chance to see them make music together again. As for HB, I had already planned on going last year and was crossing my fingers Seung Gi would go again, but dang that stupid SBS and MBC really killed any chance of that. 2 straight years he goes and just when I can he doesn't. but the latest news about MBC going to film IJM, same title as SBS version....i'm a bit worried for LSG....

SBS has already started filming for it......unless the drama storyline by SBS version is not well-received by korean viewers, they(the viewers) will definitely compare MBC version(which will be filming at a later date) with SBS Version...
Being the latter, MBC & LSG might suffer setback like what Goong S is experiencing.......

(haha as you can see, they are not exactly too updated about the korean entertainment circle) and i was pretty annoyed to hear LSG's name being read wrongly twice in the video too. haha.

SM town did a remake version of this song too, can be found on youtube. yea, i think he should hold another concert soon too:D if he does i think i'll really fly to korea just to watch it:)

Just watched 1N2D - This episode was MAXIMUM!!! (my Japanese friend always says that haha). SO MUCH FUN!!!

OPENING:
They start out talking about KHD winning the Entertainer Of The Year Award at the 44 Baeksang Arts Awards. MCM says that this is the first time that rather than a human, an animal (pig) has won the award, and that this now gives someone like him (monkey) hope (ha). LSG talks about how he realizes just how influential an Entertainer Of The Year is. KHD asks why. LSG says that not just anyone has the balls to keep a hundred people (production staff) waiting as he changes clothes, puts on makeup, etc. KHD gets on his knees to "beg LSG to not ruin his reputation and tarnish his image" - LSG lifts him up and says that LSG isn't trying to hurt KHD --- he's just saying that it takes BALLS to do that.
The guys all bow down together after KHD says that although he received the award, it's all because of the 1N2D team, so he says "We'll all strive to make 1N2D even better" and all bow. This was so awesome because KHD hosts shows on MBC and SBS, but I think he loves this show the most (that's what I'm gong to believe until KHD himself tells me otherwise!).

THE EPISODE SETUP - it's pretty self apparent, but the guys are told that they can do whatever they want in the designated place they're going to. They can choose their own basecamp...they just have to spend the night there and they're free to go. The condition however is that they have to travel in the two small cars. One has a full tank of gas and a bit of money, the other has very little gas and no money...
EJW immediately goes over to LSGeun becasue he knows he won't have to drive (since LSGeun always drives haha). Then LSGeun says "whoever's with me is going to be able to sleep (since I'm driving)" - so MCM goes over there (haha).

Before they're about to leave, KHD says, "KimC you can play the guitar and LSG you can sing (to make money) but what should I do?" LSG says, "dance," and then says, "bounce the soccer ball with your knee" and they laugh. The fact that KHD actually does that was too funny - especially when he kicks the ball too high and loses it!!! (HAHAHA!!!). That whole scene was hilarious, starting with KimC coming out of the car and then making sure that they bring the ball (ha!)
KimC opens the guitar case LSG says hi to the crowd and then KHD LOUDLY says: Introducing Korea's best singer LSG!!! (Does KHD know how to enliven a place or what?!? How about when he arrived onto campus and just lit the place up!? That was SOOOOO awesome!) The rest of the scene is hilarious:
LSG - Everyone, we don't have a hidden agenda or anything...we just wanted to sing everyone a song...
KHD - Is this a guitar case? (HAHAHA!!!)
KimC - yes it is!
LSG - You're supposed to have this open right? This has to always stay open(HAHA!)
KHD - He's going to play guitar, he's going to sing, and I'm going to kick a ball (HAHAHA!!!)
KHD (as he dips into his pocket) - This song is killer! (Then placing a coin into the case) Yah, you sing great! (haha that was so funneee!!!)

EJW questions if the guys are going to show. LSGeun says that their hearts will pull them to join them, and the EJW says "He'll show all upset and stuff." (This is great setup on the part of the guys isn't it - just great stuff!).

BEFORE KHD/LSG/KimC arrive, MCM says:
Please continue to show 1N2D your love and support...Even though it's just us three...KHD, KimC, and LSG (crowd goes wild).. Wow see, Seung Gi needed to be here (calling back to the MCM/KHD phone conversation - so funny!).

HOW GREAT WAS KHD WHEN HE SHOWED UP? He brought the house down!!! KHD saranghae!!! And when everyone was dancing side to side as LSG and KimC were singing - let's just rewatch that part everyone, and SMILE!!!

Guys, I'm so happy that you're with me on Mr. Lee's wardrobe these days. Are we bonding or what? I sense that LSG stylists are trying to inject some youth into his image. Funny how it's the opposite of what they were doing when he was younger. OK, I get that part. Yet somehow, it's a bit too maniac for me. Hm, fellow K-pop music addicts, I smell "Repackaged Album". Or at least a digital single release. Really, o51029, they played the song this week? I'm so behind with the 1N2D watch. Are we going to see this song being produced soon? Maybe?

Now that we had time to digest this album, was wondering how everyone feels about Remake #2. Is it comparable to Remake #1? IMHO, Remake #1 is the more appealing album. In both song choices and delivery. I think it's more diversed and less ballad-y. At least we have some change up in tunes, melody and pacing. Remake #2 was definitely less creative. It did not seem to be as well put together. Definitely not sung at the same level. Ok, those are my opinions. Now, it's your turn. What'ya think?
