How did all the coordination get done? email? pm? amazing what you can do when you put your heads together. One of the best eps just got a whole lot better. Ive only watched the first part, but it's like I'm watching new all over again. Just loving how Ho Dong and gang were giving him such a hard time for his seemingly innocent comments. They made it seem like he's the most inportant part of the show and it's popular and all because of him. LOL. It was soo cute to see him all perplexed and distraught. Especially when Ho dong got down on his knee's. He's such a gullable kid, but I loved how he ended it by going off on them. Ha ha. Go Emperor Seung Gi!!

eloise, thank yo so much for translating that article! It is so rare for me to actually get to understand Seung Gi's interviews and words. It's like I finally get insight on what he's really like as a person, hearing his thoughts and opinions. Although the article was from his early days it was still cool to know he really does like rock. Oasis, Van Halen, and sting? Very cool. Gosh, how I wish he would go that route for a future album. Regarding the process of making the subbed episodes: I PM Bee-unnie the translations, then Bee-unnie abracadabras it with help from Heather and Kaboom! It's on Youtube! That's how I think it all goes down

I love that scene where KHD and EJW play the prank on LSG. What's really great about it is that while they're giving him a hard time by saying he's some arrogant hotshot, they're actually highlighting just how much LSG is NOT those things. It's really quite endearing isn't it? KHD also calls LSG "Emperor/Ruler" throughout the entire episode, calling back to this first scene, which is funny too.

I can't talk enough about this episode. There's a stretch that is truly just wonderful. After the KimC/EJW contest, MCM goes nuts and drenches himself (HA!), then MCM realizes that he's out of underwear because he lent his extra pair to LSGeun back when they were on the ship (HA!), then they get outside where LSGeun tells us he's wearing MCM's underwear, EJW tells us he's not wearing ANY, and then KimC says he's wearing the same ones from the day before (HA!), and THEN we have the LSGeun tour guide scene (HA!) --- and of course, the last few minutes makes us absolutely love everyone.

Regarding the two songs you subbed: I think they're great. You've done a really awesome job of syncing the syllables (what's the word for that called?) so that the translations flow nicely with the meter of the lyrics. I think translating songs and poems are the toughest things to do, and whoever translated those songs --- my hat's off to them!

REGARDING TRANSLATIONS: I think I'm going to go back to the first episode LSG came on 1N2D and start translating that (I have no idea when I'll wrap my head around it and start). By the way I think that while I'LL CRY is on his 2nd album, this song is a remake...not sure though.

I'm thinking my pace will be about 5 minutes a night so that HOPEFULLY - you'll get pages from me every two/three weeks? I probably won't stick to a sched like this - and I'm sure you'll be swamped immediately at PhSchool... Anyway we'll see yeah?

eloise: thanks so much for translating the interview. Vol.2 was obviously notable for its rock and western feel - Crazy for You, Beautiful Girl, Mask, My Possession all had non-traditional K-pop beats. It's too bad that his singing style took off on the ballad route after this album. LSG's musical style now is far different than what his focus and interest were 2 years ago. I wonder what happened. It seemed like his musical career changed after Ms Lee left. Interesting to see that he did not end up singing the type of music that he started out or intend to pursue. I mean he did say that he wants some diversity and creativity in his music; yet, he has primarily been a ballad singer these days. I hope that he'll be able to return to those beginnings (singing with a back-up band, eh?)- cuz I think that he is way too talented to continue singing ballad remakes. Modern rock, alternative rock, indie rock, any of those would be a great challenge for LSG. So he did purposely loose the unique husky voice for the more refined vocal. Hmm. Would also love to see him continue to pursue an acting career - an interest that he has even 2 years ago. It's too bad that he still has not been able to do much in that arena. 1N2D is not really an acting gig. Hopefully, he'll get another chance soon.

Anyways, we hope you enjoyed Ep 44 as much as we did subbing it. The Jejudo trip will go down as a classic; has all the ingredients of what made the show special. Really dear to both eequeezee and I. LOL, I'm neither a magician or a psychic. ivey79, we PM each other as a way to communicate. I timed the episodes (which usually takes a couple of days - cuz I'm slow!!) then megaupload the soft sub. PM to Heather with the link for editing (grammar, spelling, timing check). At this point, she has the option of hardsubbing it or bounce back to me. If she sends back the link, I then hardsub and upload onto YT. Most time consuming steps are the translations and timing.

sarangaia: thanks for posting the pics. Hopefully we'll see more of the shoot on magazine spreads soon. Finally, a clothing endorsement! He looks mighty good there. Luv the wash of the jeans. Have always thought that this style fits him most.

eequeezee: I remember that you've mentioned once that you've roughly translated another earlier episode of 1N2D, which one was it? Do you want me to sub that one? I don't know if you want to spend more time doing detailed work or if it is worth it to work on it again? Take your time on the translation. We'll just play it by feel. Thanks for QC-ing the LSG subs. Subbing those is a challenge; definitely if I don't have the romanization of the lyrics. I go by feel a lot of the time. (BTW, thanks so much for all the prompts that you've included in the 1N2D translations. They're helpful! ) Hopefully, it makes watching his performance a bit more pleasant for others if they understand the lyrics. Interestingly, as I sub these, it really sinks in for me how odd that LSG chose to be a ballad singer. To see a young guy belting out songs about lost love and heartbreaks is somewhat out of place. It makes me want even more to see him sing upbeat songs. And just to rock it out on stage like anyone his age would... or should.

The 1n2d was sweet today. The show has been running for one year and they went back to the first place they ever visited. I'm looking forward to seeing it when it's subbed. Funny when they compared No Hong Chul signing autographs for food and his replacement Lee Seung Gi doing the same. Many other funny moments but I don't want to spoil for those who haven't watched it yet. I'm looking forward to next week. Too bad they weren't able to call Kim Jong Min though.

All right, I'm really happy today. I forced myself to wake up at an ungodly hour (ok, so I'm not really a morning person) today so that I could catch this week's 1N2D before going off to school to watch Psycho for one of my classes (you wouldn't believe how even the GUYS in the lecture theatre were screaming, LOL!!~~) Boy I'm glad i woke up early. It put me in a real good mood This week's episode is great! The yasaeng road variety show is finally back after 2 weeks of Olympics special! And I can't believe how fast time flies, they are already celebrating their 1 year anniversary! Like O unnie said, they went back to the very first place they started the show from, and visited the houses they went to a year ago. It was sooo sweet. And I just love LSG in this episode. He seems to really love kids! And I like guys who like kids, since I love kids I'm really dying to share with you guys about this week's episode, so here I am! I haven't got the time to translate line by line all the dialogue though, so I'll summarise and translate the funnier parts. Er, those who haven't watched the ep might wanna skip what I write next. Spoilers

So the show starts as usual with KHD's roaring scream and introduction. KHD tells us that the show is finally a year old, and the guys are really happy of course. He also mentions how they are back at the location where they shot their first opening scene of the first episode. SuGuen then mentions how when he recorded that first opening, he had a girlfriend, and now he is already a daddy. *flashback to the first episode where he's talking about his girlfriend on the car * Aww, that was sweet. It really shows how the guys have changed and grown, doesn't it? Anyway, in the flashback, Ji Sang Ryul very impatiently ends SuGuen's conversation asking him not to go on, he's not curious about his (love life) at all. JiWon remembers this and tells SuGuen, and LSGuen being the joker he is, said "Ah, I'm really happy without that person (Ji Sang Ryul) here!) LOL! KHD then reveals the theme of this week's trip. No surprise, its a celebratory trip down memory lane, so they are headed back to the place that they started the whole program with. LSG then mentions how they other guys always talk about their first trip as that of to YongDong, but he, MCM and KimC have no memories of that trip because they weren't on the show then. His meaning here is to say that he hopes to create beautiful memories during this trip of course, which we will later see. So the 1N2D special episode commences.

On car
KHD: Hey, back then.. what did we do on the first episode?
*flashback* [One year ago] [The 1N2D team were hungry and had no money] [Idol Noh Hong Chyul got off] [and begins an impromptu autograph session at their rest stop] [and they are saved from starvation by the townsfolk]
KHD: I remember..
LSG (cuts in loudly): AH! I saw that!
KHD: So we are going to do the same thing again this time...
EJW: Send Seung Gi!
KHD: Lee Seung Gi, Lee Seung Gi!
LSG then said something that made me choke on my laughter. He's so bluntly honest sometimes. And I must say that the exclamation marks the editors added in made me flip even more.
LSG: Hyung, but you know, for me, when I hear things like that (how high his popularity is) I will say Ah~~ No. But (secretly) inside, I feel really happy? Honestly. Honestly. But that became a burden from then. Like what if I don't get 1st? Or if my popularity is no longer 1st? If the popularity fades, I'll feel really uneasy you know? (He means to say that his popularity, or the possible lack of evokes a very uneasy feeling.)
[His inner worries]
KHD: Lee Seung Gi has now Korea's typhoon popularity (He's saying that LSG's popularity is taking over korea like a typhoon)
LSG: Ah, right! I know!
[EMPEROR]
Everyone cracks up. Ok, so we only see KHD cracking up
LSG: I know, and I'm really thankful for all of this, but it's a burden! This popularity, the popularity is not yet a typhoon! (aww, how humble. but your popularity IS sky high these days!) Really!
[What exactly is he doing, being humble or boastful...?] Haha, he's accepted his fame all right, but wants more But I guess the sudden surge in his popularity must trouble him sometimes. Ahh. How does he remain so adorable in situations like this?
KHD: But anyway, how long do you think Seung Gi's popularity will last? From my point of view, I think it will last 10 years.
EJW: 10 YEARS!
LSG: Ah really?
KHD: If Lee Seung Gi doesn't grow out of his personality (note here i think there is a double connotation to his words. He can mean on one hand "if LSG doesn't lose his real personality" or "if LSG doesn't outgrow his personality/image as a younger brother") If you don't grow out of it, I think your popularity will continue.
LSG cracks up at this. Cute
LSG: Ah, I'll be soo happy if my popularity is sustained for 10 years. I'll be so happy if i can do everything! (referring to being a multi faceted entertainer) Alone!
EJW: He's getting agitated again! (er, remember the ride he had with Jiwon and how he flared up for a moment at the beeping sound? Same word is being used here, Ook, meaning to get agitated)
LSG: Everything! (I want to) SWEEP EVERYTHING (that I can do into the bag). SWEEP IT ALL! Until there's no rival, no competitor or whatsoever in my work! (and his expression is soooo funny and cute here, with that hand gesture to suppress his supposed rivals. Ahhhh our boy is competitive under that gentle appearance isn't he?)
[Agitated Emperor]
KHD: You'll make sure there's no one else?
LSG: I'll do everything (related to entertainment) myself! I'll be so happy if it lasts 10 years. And then I'll retire from the stage!
They then finally reach the rest stop.
KHD: Everyone. This is the man amongst us, he's like the Fedor of combative sport, our Lee Seung Gi! Here, we are finally down to this. Last year, our Noh Hong Chyul held a signing here. Our 1N2D rating's leader.The owner. The brain. Our Lee Seung Gi, what kind of a result will he bring? Lee Seung Gi!
LSG: Yea?
KHD: DoChon! (err, it means challenge. I know they like to say it, like how they like to say fighting, but i have no idea why. haha)
Everyone cheers him on, and he feels really stressed.
Eun Cho Ding makes a comment that I can't catch, which makes LSG agitated again, LOL.

Seung Gi finally goes outside, and asks the audience to cheer (as usual). He flashes a smile and thumbs up to the guys in the car, and the guys are happy with the reaction LSG is getting from the people. Captions are hilarious. Seung gi's captions go [The length (of the line of the crowd) is okay right?] Eh, that was a big understatement! Seung Gi heads off to the table to start signing, and the crowd RUNS to form a line. Notice how the first few in line are not teenage girls, but BOYS? I'm finally believing that his popularity stretches to the male population too, and not just us fangirls. heehee. A really long line forms and we get a flashback to contrast the situation to NHC, who was so happy he got A lady to sign. He signs for some cute little boys (I assume they are much younger than me ) and one of them hands LSG a sandwich.
LSG: YAH!!! Sandwich! Is it really ok to give me this?
Of course it is. The boy replies excitedly to LSG, while the guys in the car look on. KHD notices the sandwich with his sharp eagle eyes. LSGuen pops his hand out to ask for the food, but Seung Gi doesn't see. And we get another contrast of situations, flashback to when NHC runs over to his hungry brothers in the car and gives them the precious food he's earned. The guys try calling for Seung Gi. But he doesn't hear, of course.
[Call for him... / and he doesn't look over]
LSGuen Caption [In that case...]
[Immediate takeaway!]
[When the situation calls for it / He is speedy with his bare feet!] LOL, I didn't even notice LSguen was barefooted until i saw the captions. The guys in the car are thrilled of course, and all begin to pig out. I love how LSG just laughs LSGuen's actions off. He looked so good natured doing that. LSGuen sprints out of the car again for a second helping. Back on the car he gives the guys an idea of the situation outside.
LSGuen: I can't see an end (to the line)!
Meanwhile, LSG gets some food from a cute little girl.
LSG: Is it ok to give me this? (eh, he repeats this like thrice to the little girl) Ah~~ Thank you!! Kiss! Kiss!
And he gives a kiss to the little girl. Ah~~~ So sweet! I like guys who have a soft spot for kids. Kids are the BEST!! Meanwhile in the car the guys are finally feeling some guilt
KHD: I feel sorry towards Seung Gi.
Well, they continue to pig out. Like REALLY pig out. I wish I could try those snacks too! Seung Gi continues to sign for people of all ages.
LSGuen: Seung Gi yah, stop (signing)! I'm stuffed! Seung Gi yah, stop it! I'm really full!
LOL. While The guys continue to munch on their snacks, LSGuen gets a surprise looking out of the window. Back to the table where Seung Gi is signing, we see a long haired girl in queue.
Girl: Hi!! (turns to the guy behind her) Oh, what should I do? I'm shaking! (Back to Seung Gi) I'm SuGuen oppa's cody (co-ordinator).
LSG: Eh? SuGuen hyung's cody? (he looks really surprised. I wonder if he believed it)
Back on the car. SuGuen sees his cody and gets all indignant.
LSGuen: Ah really, if there wasn't me, they wouldn't be together (on the show) too...!
KimC: Who's that?
LSGuen: Its my cody!
KimC: Really?
[This time its SuGuen's cody / She leaves her artiste she's helping alone, to go get Seung Gi's autograph!] HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
LSGeun: Ah, this is really..
KimC: What's this (situation) man??

Hello all! Just popped in to say hello. Looks like there's a bunch of goodies here in the last few days. Sarangaia, those pics are hilarious. photoshop is genius isn't it? Really loved the first one. Wouldn't it be awesome to see a ginormous poster of Seung Gi plastered on a New York billboard or something? Freakin awesome! Hee hee. The $100 dollar bill just made me laugh. When I saw the CF from where that pic came froom I laughed my head off. How did he put himself through the shoot? I guess that's what entertainers do if required of them. Even if it means making a fool of themselves. And thanks for the synopsis of this weeks ep. I am sooo glad you decided to translate that part first. I was dying to know what he was talking about particularly since he was so animated. I really do believe they forget the camera is rolling sometimes. The stuff they say! So honest and blunt, but dangit if it doens't make him more adorkable and endearing. Ho Dong has it right. People love him for his personality and if he continues to be who he is then he'll continue to recieve love from the audience. I don't imagine he'll stay this naive and innocent forever, but if he can continue to keep his enthusiasm and sense of purity about him he could be popular for a long time. Also given that he comes up with good pieces of work. You can't live off personality forever, you need substance too. Gosh, I hope he never changes, but thats kinda like asking someone to never grow up.

o51029, thanks for the latest links to vids. I'll check out the new Youtube site tonite and do a bit of fangirling =) I really love the pic of Seung Gi in that furry hood. The expression and the way he's holding his hands perfectly to the side is adorable. He looks like a cheeky kid who has sometime to hide. Reminds me how young he was when he debuted. Just a kid afterall. But you know, if he were to debut at 17 now, it wouldn't really seem that young anymore considering there's even 14/15 year olds out there singing now. Interesting how things have changed in a mere 4 years.

I actually start school this coming Wednesday --- SIGH. I can feel the pressures that come with school rearing its ugly head again ARGH! I don't at all want to mentally prepare myself for school just yet, so I've just been trying to keep my mind off it and spend as much time translating 1N2D as possible. I had translated parts of the episodes I'm translating now some time ago, so I'm going back and revisiting them. However, I realize that I've summarized a lot more than I had hoped, so each episode has a lot of translating left...but the bits I did translate help me move along a bit faster. I'm going to get you another episode sometime over the weekend, as I'm not going anywhere and just vegging. I want to get as much done as possible before school overwhelms me again

Dindunnie - someone's translating the episode LSG came onto the show? Great! Can you keep us updated? I'll make my way over to other episodes then.

I accidently found out that there is eng sub for Seung gi's performance in YDH's Music Show. and then I downloaded this show from yonnie's blog. This radio show is very interesting! Seung Gi admitted that he enjoys watching erotic movie!!!!:o He also sang 'Digger Bee' in a very cute way. I really like the way Seung Gi sings & talks. Very natural. In the show one fans even said she wanted to raise her child to be like Seung Gi!!! haha~~~ What a praise!!:)

hey all! shout out from sunny California! Enjoying a little vaca here in San Francisco with my sister. Funny to know some of you are probably not that far away from me right now. =) Well I just had to drop by and say ciao. So much good stuff here alread in just a few days. Bedifferent, it's funny that you mentione collecting all of YDH bits of Seung Gi. I was just trying to find all those last nite to watch. I was thinking to myself I how awesome it would be if I could collect them all with translations. And now like magic, you bring it here. The show has always brought out the best in Seung Gi. It's intiate and classy and really allows us as an audience to appreciate him as a singer. Also kudos for the latest subbed song. As always great to know what he's singing about too.

Ok, as for the latest pics. Honestly and comparatively speaking, the Busan clothes were not ThAT bad. I'd say he was in the top 3 or 4 best dressed for the whole show. I think eveyone was wearing marc jacobs for the show and there was many a hideous outfit. (Props to Han Ji Hye for keeping in simple). Seung Gi was fine from the middle up. But those jeans....I'm just hoping those jeans are a one time deal for the show, but corret me if I"m wrong I think we've seen him wear it already on the show? But thank goodness for the latest Edwin pics!!! Absolute LOVE! The clothes are classy and cool. Simple and modern, very age appropriate for him. The stylist did a great job with his hair too. Fluffed his bangs just right I'd say. But really the best part of the whole thing to me were his expressions and his eyes. Just the right amount of confidence and contemplation. Dugi, your gith he's defintely matured and gotten more masculine. Gosh, he's growing up so well it's amazing. Having been on the show for a whole year now with all these guys has helped him to mature and gain confidence. He seems to be much more aware of himself as a person and as an artist. Confidence is sexy eh? hee hee. Edwin is a clothing company right? If he's endorsing them, I pray he gets to keep these clothes and wears them often =)

Eequezee, this forum and Seung gi has brought me a lot of joy this whole summer too. Always brings a smile to my face and if I'm having a bad day I can rely on all these great vids to keep my mind of things. In no small part thanks to yours and everyone else's effort here. it is great to be able to see lee seung gi again. my laptop crashed so i could not go online until yesterday. the first thing i did was to catch up on all the 1 night 2 days.
i loved him and his flippers, when he had to swim to get the shirt to avoid running the marathon, also loved when he and eun ji won were playing the wii; and when he got angy at the car beeping. i still have so much to catch up on.
