Still have not watched the 1N2D 2-hour Chuseok special. But I did watch the X-File clip. Thanks Sunlight for posting. Whoa, the number of tapes and equipments that the crew used. Hats off to them. Yay, we finally see the people behind the making of. Such dedicated group who seem to enjoy and are proud of their jobs. I love the clip of Seung Gi studying on the boat. Very cute. Of course, when I study, it usually is far from an enjoyable experience.

Atleast he's been steadily making improvements lately. I take it he didn't very many clothes from Edwin. Darn it! Bedifferent thanks for the clips. Lots of hard work you guys are putting in. But honestly it's really special to actually understand Seung Gi's words. He sounds all that much more beautiful.

And regarding the anti's. They sort of a mixed blessing. Hate to have them, but it usually means your getting some major attention and getting popular enought to even have anti's. With Seung Gi's popularity lately from the show I wouldn't be surprised if there are some haters out there. Even popseoul has made some snarky remarks of his so called popularity as a "somewhat talented" singer. Ah well, people just jealous

Anybody know of any news lately with our boy? Album, movie? CF? Anything? Just seems a bit quiet. If he's not up to anything big hopefully he's getting plenty of rest and maybe just taking a break to study and what not. At least he seems to keep busy with lots of little concerts performances.

LSG is in his final year already? That's fast! I'm one year younger and I'm only into my 2nd year. Busy busy busy. Even so, I managed to find some time to skim through the BaekDuSan Chuseok special. Didn't watch it in detail, just kept fast forwarding and stopping here and there to listen to bits and pieces of the interviews.

I picked out some of the more exciting (IMHO) and interesting interview conversations as well as unseen footage to translate from the Chuseok special. Thought it was pretty well done, even though I'd have loved to hear things from KimC and EJW's perspective. For some odd reason they weren't interviewed. Schedule clashes I guess. It would also have been much better if they had shown less of the original episode and more of the BTS though. But I really have to give credit to these editors. 400 tapes of raw footage, which would translate to at least 400 hours, if not more, of videos to go through before editing, captioning, doing the on-screen effects and the background music. Kudos to them. They're amazing.

Early on in the video, the interviewer asked MCM "At which point of the trip was it the toughest?" and MCM's reply was "Is that a question you are asking me now? 4 nights 5 days was tough, coming back was tough too." Just goes to show how draining the trip was for the 6 guys.

LSG 's view on the boat trip
LSG: To me, that wasn't a boat (uh, ship would be more appropriate I guess), it was like a hotel. Because it was so comfortable on the boat (ship), I have no memories of suffering on the boat trip.

After that, they he washed up with EJW, and they had a conversation about their complexions (I think) and how the trip's wreaked havoc on it. Funny moment when EJW says "When you look at me at night, you can only see my eyes". He isn't that dark is he?
Then comes a LSG Huh-dang moment. He exits the washroom, only to have EJW scream for him a few minutes later.
EJW: Oh? YAH! SEUNG GI YAH! SEUNG GI YAH!
LSG: Yea?
EJW: SHAMPOO!
LSG reenters.
LSG: Hyung, but you have no hair to shampoo! Hyung you wash (shampoo) your hair?
EJW: Of course!
LSG: I thought people with very short hair don't wash (shampoo) their hair.
LOL. Then EJW pops his head under the hand dryer to dry his hair. These guys. They always do all sorts of non-conventional stuff.
When they arrive at the ferry terminal, LSGuen mentions how he misses his wife. Which immediately prompts LSG to say he misses his puppy, thus we have that cut of Sang Guen, with the captions "...Me?" That was really a cute one.

They then get on the bus, where MCM tries out his cellphone's roaming service and calls back home. Initially he just couldn't get it to work, but he eventually figured the problem out and passed on the info to LSG. LSG then calls his sister.
LSG: Hello? Soo Yeon? Are you home? Ah, oppa's in China now. We can see the North Korean territory from here.
Captions go [He calls his sister to brag] LOL!!

Anyway, LSG+MCM+KimC decide to get off the bus and walk a little so that they get at least a little stretch, and we see LSG stopping dead in his tracks suddenly just to say "The bus is coming". The guys ask him how he knows that and he says he heard the bus. The others refute his statement saying that he's just hearing his own footsteps. Turns out LSG was right, his hearing is quite sharp! The episode continues with the whole LSG scare fest thing, with LSG laughing sheepishly during his interview. Turns out that the guys were allowed to get off the bus to wash up and stuff.

EJW very aptly described his feelings while brushing his teeth. LOL he seems to have lots to say when he brushes his teeth.
EJW: I have no memory of the boat trip! We just took a bus from Seoul to China! I have no memory of the boat trip. Why did we take the bus?

The staff were all tired out, and many of them expressed their wish to go home. KimC talked about how it was really tiring and he doesnt see how they're gonna make it to Baekdusan, while Dae Ju was going on about how the bus trip is really the toughest part. Meanwhile we have LSG doing his self talk again, brainwashing himself into believing that he's not tired. LOL

Fast forward to the part where LSG talks about the climb (I'm sorry, I'm skimming through the videos as I watch too. I'll do a more detailed one when I get the time) He apparently had 3 big worries, which he revealed to the interviewer.
1. Would they really be able to complete the climb?
2. Would they really be able to see Heaven's lake?
3. I HAVE to be the first to reach the top!
He's competitive! Like really. So cute.

On EJW
LSG: His shorts were like hot pants! ...
Its then revealed through the convo the PD and EJW had that its EJW's first time on a mountain trip. The PD was like flabberghasted at that, while EJW was going "My first mountain trip, BAEKDUSAN!"

Well, I think with any celebrity, there is a need to balance personal and public personalities. Public image is somewhat built from the person's true self. I think it is hard to just be someone out of the blue and portray that falsehood day in day out. So yes, I think the perception that we see of LSG on 1N2D somewhat reflects him. Cuz we do see him changed over the course of one year that he is on 1N2D. He is more cheeky now. Still goofy and huh? once in a while but for most part, is more mature. He is definitely more self-awared of his celebrity status and popularity. If he is to take his career to another level, I think that it would not be intuitive to remain the huh-dang that he is now. So I do think that he will continue to change. There will always opinions along the way of whom he truly is. He has been widely loved by many for so long that it seems weird to consider that he has anti-fans. But I'm sure there are some, given the competitive nature of the business and the fan-obsessed environment that he is in. It's the price that you pay for being in the public eyes. Like deemei81 said, the measure of a man is reflected in the company that he keeps. That's all you can possibly take at face value.

deemei81 You're welcome! Anyway the song title is 너의 곁으로. Regarding the antis, they are starting to pop up already. Just look at the article Sunlight posted. I'm sure, very sure that people will start blowing the matter out of proportion and use it as a reason to start hating. I guess one just can't have all ups with no downs. With popularity, the antis will come, its like this universal law. The thing is I always believe that overzealous fans will bring about the crazy antis, since the crazy fans will rub the crazy antis the wrong way and things will just snowball from there. I mean, the haters can't just hate one-sidely, there's simply no fun and meaning in that for them (that's from my analysis of their psyche, LOL). I strongly believe that most of the time, its the retaliation that the fans engage in that fuels antis (which explains why its always wise not to react to them online, it just makes things worse most of the time. Even though sometimes its really hard not to do so.). Thus I'm of the opinion that because LSG's fans are relatively calm, orderly and well behaved (for now), the antis are probably not really hardcore insane haters too. Things might change though, considering the acceleration of his (and the other members) popularity.

You guys! I just watched the usual 2 hour 1N2D show again, and I realised to my horror how much missed out sooooo much because I wasn't watching it properly the first time around! I was just fast forwarding because I wanted to get on to studying. Now that I'm taking a short break from all that studying, I'm finally able to watch it without fast forwarding the whole thing. OMGoodness, it was so funny! The letter that MCM got from the mean kid, OMG! So funny!!! I just keep rewinding and rewinding to listen to it over and over again. Too bad they didn't read out what the mean kid wrote about LSG.

Opening
They start with MCM's whooting, and KHD's usual yelling. JiWon was complaining about KHD's voice, while KHD sends out Chuseok greetings to the viewers and asks them to eat dok soup and stuff.
MCM: Isn't dok soup (rice cake soup) eaten for New Year?
KHD: In that case then steamed rice cake?
LSG: Ah, but don't we originally eat rice cake soup too?
KImC: Rice cake soup?
LSG: You don't eat it during Chuseok?
They continue a confused discussion on the food they eat, and MCM cuts in.
MCM: The MC's lead in is like 80% about eating
KHD: All right, we've celebrated our 1 year anniversary last week, and now we are on to our second Chuseok.
PD: Yes, we know you have suffered a lot in the past year, so we've prepared gifts for you.
KimC: For us?
PD: Yes, one for each of the 6 of you
MCM: There are no conditions at all?
PD: No conditions at all.
LSG: This is not for Bok Bul Bok?
MCM: Oh this is great stuff!
LSG (to KHD): Wait a moment! Ah! Don't push! Hyung! Don't push, don't push!
EJW: Its all the same!
KHD: This isn't for Bok Bul Bok?
PD: Its all great stuff, presents for all of you.
The guys start comparing their bag of gifts. LSG was cute, he was hugging the bag to his chest and saying "Oh, there seems to be two in mine?" The guys then open up their boxes, and the gifts are all Chuseok related food items. MCM kept asking the other guys to keep away from his box (as usual) and not touch his presents, which promptly elicited a punch from KHD after his box got opened, leaving MCM sprawling on the floor. Anyway, they all coo over the food items in MCM's box and try to get their hands on them.
MCM: I'm going to give them to my mom!
LSGuen: But all the presents seem to be related to food?
It is, since its Chuseok. Anyway, they get down to introducing the place they're headed for in this Chuseok special, to which LSG starts laughing in uneasiness, and he later tells KHD that it sounds like something tough again LSGuen starts talking about the comments netizens have left him with, which cracks Jiwon up totally. Anyway, they are supposed to go without the car nagivator for this trip, and the PD essentially asks them to rely on their 6th sense. Of course the PD isn't going to give them enough time, but he makes concessions as well. The guys can pick anyone on the course of their trip to play a simple game (rocks scissors paper for example), and they'll get an additional hour per game they win. If they lose, they'd get no extra time, and would have wasted some playing the game. The guys decided to try to get an additional hour at the start of the trip. So off they went into KBS, where they met this guy who was just done with his morning radio broadcast and was having breakfast. They dragged him out, literally, to play a game. The rest just speaks for itself. EJW pretty much threw away their chance for an extra hour They then get on the car, with their targeted arrival time as 2:10pm

Mean Kid's letter
On the car, MCM excitedly tells his hyungs about his new fan.
MCM: Hyung, I received a letter from a fan in first grade (elementary school).
KHD: So are the contents what the first grader wrote interesting?
MCM: Because he's only a first grader in elementary school... he just criticized everyone.
EJW: Criticism about us?
MCM: Because he's my fan... He hates the five of you!
Suguen and KHD laugh wildly. I was ssunshineing myself too, when I heard this.

[Mong's elementary school fan who likes only him!]
They ask MCM to read out the letter.
[So what exactly is in the contents of the letter?]

MCM: From Jang Jin Yong. Hello Hyung! I'm in first grade in elementary school, and I really like Hyung a lot. Lee Su Geun... He's really childish! He's so short, I can't understand why he keeps mistreating Hyung. Out of breath Jiwon, he makes elementary school life look very wearisome, so I don't like him. Pants are too small Kang Ho Dong is fat so I don't like him. (MCM pauses) Hyung, please listen carefully to KimC hyung's one. KimC... He looks like a beggar so I don't like him!
Note: The kid actually refers back to the nicknames given to the guys back in the episode where they ran the marathon. Also, for poor KimC, the kid actually wrote 김C 는 거지 같아서 싫어, which literally translates into He looks like a beggar so I hate him. I later found out from my korean friend later that it can be quite vulgar, depending on the context.
The guys all laugh madly at the mean kid's innocent words. OMG, is this how antis are made? LOL. So funny!

The 2 articles reported that the shooting of 1N2D at the Busan baseball stadium had incensed some baseball fans. Here is a summary:

Apparently, this was an important match, with the Lotte team and the Du San team vying for 2nd place in ranking. Tickets were sold out within minutes, and many fans were turned away. However, they later found that there were a lot of empty seats in the stand where the 1n2d team was stationed. Despite the producers explaining that they had actually bought tickets for 50 seats, fans doubted that the vacant seats were more like around 100. They were also angry that regular fans have to queue up for 5 hrs to get tickets, whereas entertainers could get in, just like that.

The match was broadcast live by MBC ESPN that day, and it showed the empty seats compared with the full house in the rest of the arena. It didn’t help with the announcer sniping at whether this sort of situation could happen in other countries and whether the 1N2D team was there really because they were interested in baseball or was it just for their show.

Another commentator remarked that pro baseball is serious business and should not be turned into a variety show. He further accused “certain” people of piggy bagging on the sports popularity (think this is what he's implying) and causing inconveniences to real fans.

During the break, apparently, the performance of the song “Unconditionally” (the song our guys sang at the National Singing Contest in an earlier episode) also incurred the displeasure of the fans. Seems like this is the team song for the Eagles (another baseball team, I presume), and fans were saying how could the 1n2d team be so ignorant. The fans also blamed the pulling out of 2 key players, one from each team from the later match, on the half time performance.


Hence all the excitement in the websites: with name calling like Shallow 1n2d; Brainless 1n2d; angry comments like We have become extras for 1n2d; We won’t watch 1n2d anymore etc etc

eloise Thank you so much for your translation. I hope it won't affect the rating. Actually I can't understand why the baseball fans are angry at 1D2N. From my point of view, 1D2N went there to film their shows &to bring happiness to the baseball fans & to show their support for the baseball team. What is the big deal???? For occupying the seats??? For causing inconvenience??? I just didn't get it. I guess the so-called real fans are too sensitive & they're jealous that 1D2N can easily get the tickets but they can't. Poor 1D2N...

i do agree with you julia..i think they are just jealous and envy of the team bcos they can't get into the arena..I thought the team already purchase around 50 tickets alreadY in the 1st place???it's your own fault for not buying your tickets early.You can't blame ppl for your mistake.Korean ppl so sentitive in my opinion.

Sunlight, woah girl, cool down! Actually, I feel a little indifferent to the whole furor that's ongoing because of this baseball match. It seems like everyone is blowing things out of proportion (hey, my prediction in my post last night came true!). The 1N2D team made some mistakes in planning, preparing and executing this segment of the filming (think the theme song and empty seats hooha), but hey, no one's perfect all the time. Miscalculations happen, and it was just unfortunate that the team happened to lose. It wasn't like as if the 1N2D team was plotting and scheming for things to turn out this way. Even so, naturally the fans of the team that lost would be angry, who wouldn't? It made me think of the statement KHD once said, that everything is interesting (in sports) when you win. Here, its been proved that the reverse is true too. And when people get emotional, they have the tendency to commit fallacies in their arguments and make false conclusions. You can't deny that some of the comments that were posted by the irate fans fall exactly into this category. Their emotions are justified, but that may not be the case for some of the points they've made. Toss in a rival TV broadcasting station, stir in some overenthusiastic netizens and sprinkle some online news articles for relish and we have a perfect explosion of a storm that can't seem to be contained in the teacup at the moment. The thing is, I just feel that everything has just been overly magnified, scrutinized because its a very popular variety show in question. Had it been any other more low profile shows, the reactions might not have been so big. Then again, all this buzz now equates to publicity, and as the cliche in entertainment goes, publicity IS publicity, good or bad. This might be the thing to give the ratings an added boost if more people tune in to check out the dispute. The only definite thing is, this will blow over. It might take time, but it will definitely be over someday. Let's just keep our fingers crossed for the best.

Its interesting to think of the 1N2D issue in relation to the discussion on LSG anti fans we were engaged in prior to this. I wonder how things will go for him from now. Next week's going to be a really busy week for the boy, looking from his whole lineup of performances. I hope some new fan videos of his performances will start making its rounds soon. Always nice to hear something from him.

Information overload in the last couple of pages! I won't comment too much on this whole deal since pretty much everything has been said. Thank you Eloise for your translation. It clarified what was going on for me. But I am curious as to how this episode will do when it airs as it seems controversy, good or bad, definitely garners interest. My guess all this whoha will probably raise the ratings. The only thing that really annoyed me, was the bit about the newscasters snarky underlying comments. Talk about innapropriate.

The 2 articles reported that the shooting of 1N2D at the Busan baseball stadium had incensed some baseball fans. Here is a summary:

Apparently, this was an important match, with the Lotte team and the Du San team vying for 2nd place in ranking. Tickets were sold out within minutes, and many fans were turned away. However, they later found that there were a lot of empty seats in the stand where the 1n2d team was stationed. Despite the producers explaining that they had actually bought tickets for 50 seats, fans doubted that the vacant seats were more like around 100. They were also angry that regular fans have to queue up for 5 hrs to get tickets, whereas entertainers could get in, just like that.

During the break, apparently, the performance of the song “Unconditionally” (the song our guys sang at the National Singing Contest in an earlier episode) also incurred the displeasure of the fans. Seems like this is the team song for the Eagles (another baseball team, I presume), and fans were saying how could the 1n2d team be so ignorant. The fans also blamed the pulling out of 2 key players, one from each team from the later match, on the half time performance.

On the 20th, the producers of 1n2d issued an official apology to baseball fans and Busan citizens in its homepage. 2nd: In response to the criticism that there were members of the audience who could not get into their seats (think this refers to the 2 gentlemen looking for their seats in the clip that bedifferent posted earlier) the producers explained that after the spectators concerned made their enquiries with the usher, they were brought to the right place, where their seats should be. The notice further pointed out that the comments made by MBC ESPN then did not reflect the true situation. (I rewatched the clip just now. Think the MBC comment referred to here was: in what other country coould this have happened .... not letting fans get to their seats because of shooting)

The notice ended with the producers saying that irrespective of the truth on what did happen or did not happen, they took full responsibility for being negligent and humbly accepted all criticisms. They further undertook to try their best to prevent similar incidents from occurring in future.


According to the report, netizens are giving the apology a cold reception, commenting that the producers were giving excuses and the apology was not sincere. Anti fans are calling for the scrapping of the broadcast of this episode and this is supported by many baseball fans.




2nd article ‘1박2일’ 사직 자리점거 논란 반대 주장 ‘점거 NO!, 50석 맞다”

According to the report, a reporter from newsen got hold of 3 photos of the stadium during the event. The first 2 shows the seating during and after the national ceremony and the 3rd one during the 3rd round/inning? (sorry, not familiar with baseball terminology)
Analysis of these photos show a different perspective from those netizens were suggesting.


Going by the 1st and 2nd photo, it didn’t look like the 1n2d team was occupying the whole section. They were seated below the red line. The seats above them are usually used as seats for guests. Other than staff doing the shooting, the rest of the production team and the performers were in their own seats. However, the seats above the red line, which are for general spectators looked empty, and that’s the centre of the criticism.


The article also said that according to a source close to 1n2d, the 1n2d’s program notice board indicated a procurement of 50 tickets. Also in an earlier dialogue with the source? on the 19th, the reporter had been told 1n2d had secured 50 seats and that the vacant seats seen in the early part of the match arose from the actual shooting being prepared and undertaken.

Secondly, if one looks closely at the stadium, it’s not just the seats in the 1n2d section that were not filled up. There were quite a number of assigned seats, noticeably in the bullpen side that were not filled either, most probably because to avoid the rush, those spectators have made it a point to arrive a little later.


Thirdly, during the 3rd inning, the scene arising from the tickets in the problematic section, which was already filled up by the general spectators, seemed likely to be a misunderstanding.
(Think he was referring to the 2 gentlemen here. Think it's the report's very discreet way of saying that since the pesrons in question saw that their section was full, they tried to make their way to the empty seats they saw)


The report further commented that it was not just the photos that were at variance, but it seemed like the views of the commentators also differed.

While MBC commentator Hoe Gu Yeon, criticized the staging of the 1n2d performance, SBS sports, also broadcasting live, gave the presence of 1n2d a positive response. The reason given was that given that Busan citizens do not get to see stars easily, it woiuld give them a good memory. SBS even included footage of the 1n2d members in their broadcast.

The report questioned whether the image shown via the MBC ESPN broadcast showed a scenario before the match.


The report also quoted another criticism from MBC which complained that while they were not allowed to use the steady? camera they had prepared, 1n2d was allowed to use whatever the cameras they had including using the 6mm camera to shoot from where they were seated.

Watched this week's episode on video on demand. Finally for once that worked for me, and I'm watching the episode as it airs! Cool episode I'll try to recap as much as I remember.

We start again this week with a recap of last week's happenings.

Now that the first team's performance is over, we have the second team coming in for their performance. Funny moment when KHD is introducing the second team's members and deliberately changes their names Kim Su Guen, NG Mong and Lee C. The second team runs in and presents gifts to the audience before performing, and LSGuen continues with his funny dance for too long.
KimC: SuGuen ah! Come back, come back! (LSGuen snaps out of his dance) Ready!
They start their show. MCM as grandpa, LSGuen as grandma and KimC as the background music. They start a hilarious skit, with the two mumbling all sorts of funny stuff.
MCM: This body is old~ Should consider eating some tonics~
LSGuen Captions [You're gonna eat everything all by yourself??]
LSGuen: What about ME? ME?? If you take everything then what's for me? You rascal! *slaps*
Oh, that was BRILLIANT. The slapping accompanied by the guitar. These guys really know how to make things look funny!
MCM: Let's change (roles)!
LSGuen: Change (roles)?
MCM: I'm the granny! Granny!
LSGuen: I'm the gramps, gramps!
[They switch in 5 seconds!]
They start singing again, and i think MCM screams something husband. Or it could be old man. Not too sure. Anyway, LSGuen responds the exact same way he did earlier and slaps MCM. LOL. KHD then cuts in, laughing loudly and his captions say [That's weak! That's weak!] With that, the two teams end their performances. KHD tells the audience that they will pass out pieces of paper with KHD and LSGuen's name on it, and they are to mark the team they like with an O. The winning team gets to sleep indoors while the losing team heads for the wilderness amongst the lettuces. Another spot of humour here when KHD re-introduces the two teams and pretends he doesn't know the names of 3 in the other teams, leading to a few moments of awkward silence. The pieces of paper are passed around by the boys.
KHD: Please save me!
LSG also goes around with the voting slips, which ensured a few delighted shrieks from the women of course. Captions made me laugh. [Seung Gi's beauty trap?] Meanwhile KHD makes a move on the cute toddler, who doesn't seem too interested in him. All the same, KHD is happy playing with the toddler.

The moment of intense stress then comes with the counting of votes. No one wants sleep amongst the lettuces since it's madly cold out there in the night (as the plot owner already told them last episode) and they have to sleep WITHOUT a tent. Again, we have KHD introducing the situation to the viewers, about how the votes have been gathered and stuff, but the other boys don't care. They just kept stuffing themselves with the food on the table Aww, LSG was trying to finish up those watermelons, haha. KHD caught sight of the boys pigging out and sighed.
KHD: Sigh... My heart hurts!
KimC: Just let the kids eat before going...
KHD: Ok, there should be a total of 24 votes in all. We're going to look at the votes one by one now. Which of the team performance did everyone like the best? We'll count the votes and find out now.
PD: Ok, I'm going to read out the votes one by one to you. Now, first vote. Kang Ho Dong 1 vote!
The guys are hyped up and sit together closely holding hands. The PD continues to announce the votes to them. It was really tense, and we saw a banjun (banjun is reversal in korean) of sorts when LSGuen's team went from 2 votes to match and even up to KHD team's 6 votes. Things get even more nerve wrecking from then on, with each team matching vote for vote as the counting went on.
EJW: This is unbelievable, what's this?!
I agree with him. Just so you guys know, the PDs didn't mess around with the votes to make the situation so tense, it was all coincidental (I choose to believe the PDs). KHD calls for time out at 10:9, with 5 votes remaining, and the guys are a pile of nervous wrecks, all afraid that they'd be the ones sleeping outside. At 11:10, the PD prepares to open another vote.
PD: Oh! This! We'll reserve this vote for later.
The guys protest, but the PD insists that there's a reason for it, and reassures the guys that he'll open that particular vote last.
KHD: Really, you haven't messed around with the votes have you?
PD: I'm seeing this with you guys now too!
KHD: The KBS team swears this on their conscience?
PD: Yes, on our conscience.
LSG: Wow, this is really something. Hyung it seems this always happens?
The vote is read out and its 11 all. The last vote (not counting the one taken out by the PD earlier) is read out, and it goes to KHD, and they are really upbeat since the guys have effectively won the battle. If the vote that the PD took out goes to LSGuen, they tie. If it goes to KHD they win. If the vote went to both teams KHD still wins.
PD: Now I'll show you the last problematic vote. Let's have MC Mong reveal the vote. Show it to the camera.
We finally get to know what's wrong with the vote. The voters were supposed to mark their vote with an O. But this voter decided to do things his own way and marked his vote with an X. (By the way, Koreans generally go with the O and X system for yes or no. So the problem here is that they don't know if the X means no, or whether it just means the vote goes to KHD)
Of course the other team protests and insists that they've tied.
KHD: Does an X mean that he doesn't like us?
LSGuen: No, it doesn't mean he doesn't like, the X means that its NOT this team! (He means) Its NOT KANG HO DONG!
They get into a heated argument over the meaning of the O and X.
LSGuen: No, what the person was thinking was that 'Ah, Kang Ho Dong, this person is really (gestures a big cross) not the one!' Its like this!!
KimC: You can't possibly use an X if you like the person!
LOL. They continue to quarrel over this and team KHD's brain LSG steps out to argue for their stand. He says something wrongly though, and KHD pulls him back to stop him from going on. LSG protests and asks for a final chance at finishing up his debate which earns him a mock chop in his neck from KHD. MCM tries to argue that since KHD's name was crossed, he should head for the hills with LSGuen's team too. LSG argues in his defence.
LSG: Ok, let's just take it as the voter disliked (KHD) and marked it as an X. We acknowledge that X means the person didn't like the subject, but should that be counted? That's a null vote! (since the voter didn't follow instructions)
Team LSGuen have no choice but to accept the results, and head for the wild to sleep.

KHD and LSGuen then get voted into waking up early to pick up a couple of the locals to go to the lettuce patch the next morning, After that, we see that it rained while the guys are sleeping outside and they are woken up to move into the tents. The next morning the guys just go out into the patch to get some work done, while KimC and MCM whip up a meal for them. Funny moment when this old lady fails to recognise MCM. Cant' really remember much of the episode now offhand. I guess I'll have to wait for the uploaded episodes tomorrow then. Cya guys!

I watched the episode from two weekends ago, where KHD puts tape over his face. I loved the episode.

You know how the guys were given different Chuseok food items but then they were offered up as bets against extending their traveling time? Well it was clear that the show's intention was to give the food items away along the way to the mountainside.

MCM beat the city-worker in the card-flipping game, but was still given the gift.
The guys at the highway rest stop gave away the cans of tuna and ham to the ladies that worked at the food court.
The teacher at the elementary school lost to KHD in rock/paper/scissors but was still given the box of Asian pears.
And the Policeman actually beat EJW in Muk-JJee-PPa, but even if he didn't, I'm sure the guys would have given him the box of spare ribs. Also, I don't think it was coincidence that the most prized food item (the expensive meat) was given to the Policeman, who was working alone in the station during the Chuseok holiday.
And KimC's new song playing over these scenes was great wasn't it? I must buy the new album!

The joy these guys bring to people, and the wonderful memories they make in communing with them, and letting us all share in the experience --- is just wonderful. Makes me laugh at anyone who tries to hate on this show, and even I'm kicking myself for being overly critical about the past few episodes.

Don't really have much to write --- just wanted to drop by to talk about LSG's popularity. It was posted on the 1N2D thread that LSG was voted the third favorite singer in Korea this year, after Big Bang and Rain. I wonder how MCM didn't make it in the top 5 considering how huge he was this year. Regardless, it's awesome that LSG has become so popular and received the many CF endorsements on account of just one show (albeit it is a huge show) and appearances on only KBS variety programs. I think it's interesting how he's packing his schedule with mini-concerts --- it probably brings him closer to his fans and brings in a lot more money than going on variety programs (where I heard an appearance fee is on average only 350 US dollars).

Bee-unneE, thanks for the super speedy work on the hand-holding clip! It might be just me, but I felt like the clip dispelled whatever negative energy that may have been lingering from the baseball controversy. It was clear from the 1N2D thread that it made everyone who watched it happy

WRT to the new 1N2D smoking incident. Seems like the show is making the headlines every few days for something different. I can't help but wonder if its a publicity thing, to avoid the disastrous low ratings we saw on the Chuseok special. Or maybe the show is really at the height of its popularity, thus the close scrutiny on it. For goodness sake, the shot of LSGuen smoking was barely visible unless you go frame by frame with screencaps. Sheesh. I wonder if LSG smokes. I hope not.
