caroline: Thanks for the pics. I love what he wore today - dark washed jeans and a simple black T. I was trying so hard to find out the brand of his jeans. Rewind back and forth to see the back pocket designs at one point. Am I pervy or what? But nope, I can't make out the designer. Maybe it's a Korean brand.

ivey: the thing about stylists borrowing designer clothes to dress their clients and not able to damage the items might explain why his styles have been quite off these last months. Maybe those are clothes that cannot be tailored or fixed so we see him wearing clothes that are poorly fitted. That still does not explain the terrible choice of styles. Unless he's planning to wear just comp clothes these days, whatever they send him. If that's the case then he should be wearing more of Edwin designs since he is their models. Hm, just does not make sense. On a personal level, how are you and work?

I saw the 1N2D episode today. Really miss sarangaia's translations but was able to get most of it. It looks cold where they were going. ivey, Seung Gi looks nice today. Really like the combo of dark jeans and T-shirt, the puffy green jacket was fine. But I wish that he didn't go matchy matchy with the green shoes also. Funny how the color of his captions matches his jacket color exactly today. That feast they had was yummy looking. Mong is as terrible at skipping rope as before. I'm really curious to know what drinks they ordered. It could tell a lot about their personalities. Yup, am impressed with Seung Gi's Japanese. I think he's just one of those naturally linguistically-gifted. Like our sarangaia. hehehe.

I feel bad for the new PD. He got a pretty bad bruise. That game is so dangerous to your health. The game for the curry ingredients was intense. I like that they went back to the wilderness theme, it's a total test of their character, patience and friendship. I guessed right, EJW's song was featured today during next week's preview. It makes me kinda anxious. Can't wait to when LSG releases his next album. Soon I hope. It's been a while. Me wanna hear some new tunes. I miss his music show appearances.

Hello everyone! It has been quiet here for a while and me included, everyone just seems to be busy with school and life, which is pretty understandable. But like dugi said, I don't want to see this thread die either! It's brought me too many great moments and good discussions of our ever lovable Seung Gi =) I don't think I can be as thorough as bedifferent was above (how do you do that, i mean remember everyone and everything? amazing) but I just want to say thanks to everyone who's kept up with pics, caps, and fanvids. Caroline and pink-ki good job on the vids BTW. The baby pics were LOVE, he's just tooo dang cute as a kid. He looks prim and proper as always doesn't he? Even as a baby!

I saw the latest ep of 1n2d and really enjoyed it. I too really miss your translations Sarangaia, but good thing a lot of it was self explanatory. The one bit I had a question about was why did they get fed like? Pretty good lookin spread they got there. It was fun seeing them roughing it again and playing games (that finger flick game is eeeevil, you could see their red foreheads!), but my favorite part was seeing Seung Gi speak Japanese! What the heck is up with the is boy!? What doesn't he know? I believe he is a honest to goodness know-it-all. hee hee. I think I re-watched that bit like at least 5 or 6 times. Couldn't get over how cool he was. Total fangirl

Bedifferent, don't feel like a perv, you're not the only one who was stopping, pausing, rewinding to figure out what brand was on his behind. He looked great in this ep! Well, clothes wise at least. Still can't stand the curls, woudn't he think since he's on a reality show that long, curly hair is tough to keep up? He honestly looks completely disheveled when he wakes up now. Short hair would be sooo much easier to comb and make pretty. The curls are mop on his head now. ok ok, i'll stop complaining. But I'm glad he's doing what worked best for him on this ep...back to basics. The jeans were a great color with a dark wash and a slimmer, most importantly, fitted cut. The simple black T looked especially good when he took of his puffy jacket to jump rope. Notice how much bigger he's gotten in the chest area? I see muscles... But I agree with the green shoes bit. Too matchy matchy. I'm actually glad that it's getting cold again because I'm curious to see what he'll wear for the coming months. His burnt orange colored North Face jacket was such a hit last year, wonder what he'll bring this year. Hoodies and sweatshirts are my favorite for guys anyways so I'm happy to see more of this. As far his performance clothes goes... I really have no comment anymore. His hair combined with his trend of stuffy Winter suits is really aging him. I'm just hoping he's planning on some big style makeover for his next album, otherwise I'm going to be thoroughly disapointed if he keeps this look up forever.

Well, I'll try to pop in more often to say hi to everyone. I've been missing this thread and the people in it. Again thanks to all of you who keeps it alive with your news, pics, and vids!

Boy, Seung Gi is high-maintenance. Aww, no whip cream? Where's the fun? My favorite chilled drink is Starbucks blended Caramel Frapuccino with tons of whip cream. OH MY GOODNESS!! I totally miss this place. The past two weeks have been mad! Its the term essays period, now busy studying my head off for my finals. First off, so sorry for not following up on the translations. Can't believe I'm like 2-3 weeks behind in my 1N2D watching myself. I'll try my best and see what I can do!

My Korean friend got me tickets to watch this kpop concert with quite a few big names here, and I've come to a decision after watching it. I'm SOOOO flying to Korea if LSG holds a concert. And if I can I'll get better seats I realised that even the newer pop acts have substantial quality when it comes to singing, which really makes me anticipate hearing LSG for real! Please, oh please let the guy hold a concert soon!!! Oh yes, Chae Yeon was at the concert too, and I couldn't help thinking of LSG when i was hearing her sing, because I thought of a few of you here who likes the Chae Yeon+LSG pairing in Xman She doesn't sound as weak vocally as I thought though.

Green tea frappe!! I love that! I remember the first time i drank it, a late night treat from my friend when all the other shops were closed but starbucks. But whipped cream is definitely a MUST for me, tons of it, just like how B unnie drinks hers.. Haha. I want to drink it now!!!

Yes, welcome back Sarangaia! And what great things you have brought along with you. Gifs galore and a wonderful translation. What I loved about his message was how relatable it was. He spoked from his heart and from his own experience. Maybe becuase he's still a student himself, but he gave practical advice and put himself in the students shoes. Gosh.. it was sooo sincere it actually put a smile on my face. Not the typical 'do well, fighting!' message most entertainers give (not that that's bad per say). And totally agree with you on the concert stuff. I'd KILL to be able to see Seung Gi live The best singers always sound better life, there's just no comparison. I've been to a couple Kconcerts myself and your right when you say the quality of even newbies is not bad. I think it has to do with Korea's trend in training kids at an early age. Korean singers seem to have the whole stage thing down and practicing until perfection is really important. Especially when compared to say Taiwanese/HK newbies, Korean artists are really at a higher level when they debut. Well.. that's just my opinion. Anyways, good luck on your finals!!

I hope it means more encouragement for him to come out with an album soon. Dying for new material. I've listened to his albums wayyy too many times. But sadly, still no haircut. (Sorry to those that love his curls). His suit is ok. Somehow it still looks a bit ill fitting. Even though I'm sure he probably customized it for this award show. I'm trying to be patient, but he's only 21 yet he continues to wear clothes that people a whole decade older than him wouldn't necessarily wear. I really want to know what happened to all his good stylists.

Hi there stranger, sarangaia. You still sound busy busy. Make that 2 of you since eequeezee is probably in the midst of prepping for college. It doesn't get any better when you continue on with grad school. I think you're just immune to the stress. If you're like me, just aim low and you ain't gonna miss the target. OMG, you went to the concert. I'm jealous. I agree. Pay more and get the better seats. Since you're already shelving out cash, a bit more to make the experience better is not a bad idea. Cuz I always regret afterward whenever I go to events that I didn't get better seats.

Thanks for the translations. I think we got it easy here in the US. We have our SAT, PCAT, MCAT,DAT,etc.. to stress over. But they're not life-ending as in other countries. Like in Europe and Asia where a non-passing grade means not able to advance to college level. At least in the US, you are able to continue on, maybe not in a prestigious college of your choice, but other options are available. I thought his letter was quite brotherly. Like you said ivey, very personal; much like someone who's been-there-done-that giving advice to a younger friend. I chuckled at how he was able to include two things that seemed to be at the heart of almost every 1N2D show: food and keeping warm. haha. I think he's so into basic survival now that he's been whipped into shape by the show.

BTW, I meant to ask everyone: having watched E 27-28 as well as E38-40, what do you think of Seung Gi's change? Or perhaps I should say growth over the year. He definitely looks older now. He was sooo cute in E38 - when they were prepping for bed at the KBS station. How the camera girl kept following him and ignoring Ho Dong. hahaha. I don't blame her. I think back there, he was less conscious , coming onto a show not quite an outright star yet, of the camera. Now, he definitely is more awared and uses the camera time more. So I think the charm back there was really more hidden and natural.

caroline: thanks for the video. He's really a presence now on the red carpet. Remember the 2007 MKMF pre-show interview on the red carpet? He was slightly awkward, not fully comfortable doing the requisite reporter/camera photo session. Even the interview was slightly not smooth.

julia and Sunlight: Thank you for the pics. They were all over all the Korea search engines today. Seung Gi looks GREAT in that suit. Ok, I'm willing to forgo the checkered suit. I thought that it was at least slightly better fitted. The tie is nice, conservative; but nice - better than all the paisley patterns that we've seen lately. The only thing that might bother me is the brown suede shoes that the guy is wearing with almost everything these days. Overall, nice look. His hair is trimmed and the perm has toned down. He looks rested and happy. Oh yes, congrats Seung Gi!!

ivey, I'm OK with this ensemble. Do you know why? Cuz it's the best I seen x past god-know-how many months. And I'm pretty sure the next concert's look will be questionable. And yes, a friend of mine (who happened to be concert-quality professional singer) remarked at one time that Korean singers actually have one of the best vocal in Asia. It has to do with what you've said, a lot of emphasis on the arts in the school. And they seem to make it a priority to give children proper training and exposure if they are gifted singers. A lot of kids are encouraged to perform publicly at a very early age. I guess it has to do with the entertainment and K-pop influence. eequeezee you have to confirm this for me. Is it true?

pink-ki: I don't think that anyone will profess that they do not believe in a higher being. Even those who think they don't need it. So I think LSG's opinion in that field will change as he ages and faces obstacles that are bigger than him. It's part of his maturing process. Oh yeah, EJW song. It's interesting that he's able to get away with it when LSG got into trouble with his second album. EJW did state out right that his music is fusion so I think, that's why it's not a big surprise for me when we all hear the similarities.

I haven't posted here in THEE LONGEST ---
As you guys know, I, along with Bee-unnee, have been busy with 1N2D...

I think when the whole baseball game controversy happened, I felt compelled to do whatever I could to defend and support the 1N2D guys (which of course meant defend our SeungGi). I went on a translating spree, and ultimately got in trouble for spending way too much time with the Tivo. I've been struggling with school and life, like most others, and I'm just glad there's SeungGi and 1N2D to not only bring me laughter and joy, but also allow for all of us to connect over soompi.

The best thing to come out of translating the episodes was that I got to spend all this time watching LSG, and also falling more in love with the other cast members.

We've talked about how LSG has changed in the year he's been on the show, and while we may not see it on the show, I personally hope he can take the wonderful qualities of his hyungs and incorporate them into his being --- I believe that he is doing that, and I hope we see it when he comes out with new music. It's funny because aside from the show, there really isn't ANYTHING else he's involved with at the moment is there? Can he at least appear on SangSangPlus or something?

sarang-unnee - I, like everyone else, miss your presence here and at 1N2D, but I completely understand how other things can consume you. Just be healthy and happy.
ivey-unnie - I miss you commenting on my translations now that they go straight onto the actual video. Do you watch them?

top_seungri Hey!! My mac is pretty much back to normal I guess, after a week's visit to the technicians. But I haven't had the time to work on all the stuff I was working on 1N2D before my mac went into a coma though. I'll start doing so as soon as the exams are over

pink-ki I remember watching from YSMM that he converted to become a Catholic in his school days because he wanted to get closer to a girl that he liked. Not sure if he's still in the religion though. Don't worry, he seems quite a well-adjusted guy who should be able to deal with things as they come.

As for the japanese. My understanding of japanese is pretty limited to the stuff that I self learned from a book in elementary school (yes, I'm a weird kid, hahaha!!), but it was enough for me to understand what they were talking about. LSG basically asked them why were they in Korea (for a holiday), and which korean entertainer(s) did they like the best (Shinwa). Sidenote here, I remember my Korean friend talking to me a few months ago and wondering if LSG had picked up Japanese, because she was rewatching XMan and apparently LSG was trying to pick up Japanese from one of the other artistes (Chae Yeon if i don't remember wrongly?) So I guess he did, and it looks like he's good. LOL.

Ivey unnie! I loved his message too! I'm in the midst of preparing for my own exams, and the message came as a welcome encouragement (even though its for the entrance exams candidates). I guess a lot of us here in Asia have a do-or-die attitude when it comes to the exams, and its good to see his emphasis on academic results even with his entertainment career. What can I say. He's an all rounder!

When things are bad in one area, I just reflect on the mistakes and quickly focus on another. That's where I get my drive to translate too, I think. Goodness, I remember once upon a time when my seniors had to take the SAT in addition to the A levels to qualify for entrance to our local unis. They scrapped that in my year though. eequeezee Helloooooo!!! You've been spending so much time on 1N2D!! I feel bad for not contributing for so long. You're right, schoolwork just CONSUMES me at the end of semester when the exams roll in. Like you, I hope to see new breakthroughs in his music too! But i took a peek at the 1N2D thread and saw an article on EJW and how he said his voice quality has been affected by 1N2D. I think that's a practical concern for the 3 musicians in the team. They spend so much time yelling, laughing, screaming, talking, and eat all kinds of weird stuff, and their vocals cords are... well, subject to a lot of strain. With LSG's ballad genre, any change will make a lot of difference to the delivery of his songs. Hopefully amidst filming and album preparations, he takes good care of that wonderful set of pipes he has!

eequeezee: Your hubby is just adorable in the last episode. Him against the three guys were priceless. I was so proud of him at the end. Well, a bit nervous in the middle when KimC was paying for the price. But at the end, WOW, the boy is so unbelievably intelligent. One of the articles mentioned that he was an elitist perfectionist. hahaha. They're absolutely spot-on. Can you possible tell him to relax a bit when you see him in person next year? I always get a kick whenever there's quiz time on 1N2D. The way he reacts, jumping up and down when he knows the answers, always floored me. It's mega cute though.

I agree. I wish that he goes on more TV shows, whatever they are I don't care. I mean he's like took himself off the variety show circuit. He's doing more concerts (getting paid better for them I'm sure) but I'm not quite clear on the reasons for keeping such a low profile. If you compare to all his 1N2D friends who apparently are taking advantage of the show's popularity wave, LSG's approach is not very clear to me. Especially since he has expressed that he wants to act. Yet he remains off of the TV circuit? Maybe he wants to establish that he is not variety show material, but is aiming for something "better"?

sarangaia: welcome back. I love that last pic that you post. LSGi accepting the award. Handsome guy. Ah yeah, I was squealing along with eequeezee when the guy spoke Japanese. OK, can I just say that I am sooo ready for the next album? I hope that his inactivity means that he is gathering himself up for graduation works. He is graduating this summer, right? I was sooo bummed out when I heard that YDH LL was canceled. No!!! Where will LSG debut his next album. Gosh, LSG must have done over half a dozen appearances on that show and I love them all. I still remember how affectionate and supportive YDH was toward him when he debuted. That You're My Girl duet with LSH is still magical every time I see it on YT. Aw, I'm going to miss that show so. I hope Lee Ha Na's Peppermint will fill the void. She seems like a sweet lady.

sometimes I still get here to read, but have no idea of what i should post I don't wanna break in the continuous discussion of you guys ^^ such good raisers, this thread is growing well. I think we're going to celebrate the page 200 soon XD can't believe it's been one year, some things have changed, many new people come but don't see the old people get back. i really miss them and the old days...
a couple of pages back seems ppl still have concerns of his change. ^^ i have noticed it since the day I realized his popularity in 1N2D. used to be so sad with it. its like the higher the fame raises him, the further he goes away from me but i've been learning how to accept. if he really changes afterwards, hope he can take after mc mong or kang ho dong. smiles from heart to live, seung gi


Okay, now can i get into the point ^^



As you know, there is about 2 months till his birthday, Jan. 13. have you realized that till next year, it’s been 5 years since the day he debuted in 2004? So I want something special for him as a birthday present. Of course each of us can send anything you want for his birthday. But here I think it would be more meaning if we can do something together and send it to him. Dugi, Sunlight and I had a talk. And what do you think, if we send Seung Gi the videos that we sing happy birthday and say best wishes to him?

What am I talking about? I know questions from you guys are coming.


WHY we have to do it?

First of all, all of us want some birthday present for him, of course. Second, I’m not sure, but I think Seung Gi is just aware that he has fans in Korea and China [the Chinese are lucky. I remember when he was being told he had Chinese fans, he was surprised and said to her to send his appreciation to them]. It’s possible Seung Gi is aware of his overseas fans like us, but I’m sure he can’t know where we’re from and how we love him. Here I’m not trying to say we do this to let him know who we are. Because we all know it’s hard for a singer to come to the countries just for he thinks his fans are there.

But I as well as you, all want him to know the support we always give him, it’s not only his country Korea, but it comes from many places around the world. When you know there are some people always love you, support you, follow every your foot step in career, hope all the best things for you in life, will you feel happy? I’m sure you do. And if it gives him a faith, an encouragement to live and work well, will he want to know how are those people, where are they from? I’m sure he does.

And third, I always hope the overseas fans as us can do something together for a beautiful thing, for a nice person we all love. I really want something united between us.Yes, comparing to others, we are not many, we don’t have a large number of people, we can’t gather together to come and see him every day, every night, but I think it doesn’t matter. What matters is we all look one way, think of one person, and give one corner of our heart for Lee Seung Gi.


WHAT we are going to do?

Our video includes 2 parts.

Part 1:

In each country, we will gather all of his fans we know as a group. Together, we will sing happy birthday song for him and say to him the best wishes [no bday cake is okay, but better with it, right?]. You can do anything, you can say any wish, there are no pattern or rules for a sentimental work like this. It’s up to you guys at all. The cruciality for it is thinking about him while doing it and do it with all your heart because, girls, maybe Seung Gi will watch it and look at you.

There is no limit to the number of the videos, in the other words, no limit to the countries and the number of people in the videos, as many as good. Here is the list of the people joining this project up to now

- Indonesia: dindunz
- Mongol: Dugi
- Vietnam: Sunlight, Vanny

I do hope the it will be added more. Tell me if you want to be on the list^^


Part 2:

If you think it’s necessary, there will be a video enclosing with our videos. Okay, I have some problems with content. What this video is going to mean? What quotes will be inserted?

Right now I have got 2 ideas. One, it’s going to be a collection of his pictures from his debuted time up to now, to mark his growing up during 5 years of his career. Two, like a story, not about Seung Gi, but it’s about us, his fans. Such as how we get into him, how we love him, how we’re obsessive about him, etc… For this, I think it’s rather hard to do, though I think it also has meaning. But no matter what, the deciding factor is quotes. Good quotes make good story line. So we want to know your opinions. Do you have any good idea? Please share with us.


HOW to send it to him?

After finishing, we will write it to a DVD and send to Korea. Unfortunately, I don’t have a DVD burner and I’ve not known how to make files can be played by DVD player. Morever, to be honest, I can’t give all of my faith to the postal service in my country, very expensive but no guarantee. I got problem with it twice, my packages never reach my hands though my money was gone. So I really hope someone can take this work. After finish making the video, I will upload it and send it to that person, who makes the DVD and send it to Korea. This is the job of primary importance, can someone accept this mission? Please give us one hand.


WHERE we will send?

Right now, we have 3 addresses. Dugi have the one of HOOK Entertainment’s postal mailbox from someone at his official site. I have got the one of HOOK’s office, and one of Seung Gi’s mailbox from my Korean friend [she didn’t say what type of that address, but I don’t think it’s the address of his private house, postal mailbox instead. But she say if I want to send something to him, just use this address]. So which address we should pick? We want to know your opinion.


WHEN does the deadline come?

I hope you guys can complete and send it to me before 2008.12.20. It takes time to send it to Korea, and I think we all hope it can get there before Seung Gi’s birthday.

You export the file to *avi format, or any common format, such as *wmv or *mpg and good quality please You can upload it on megaupload and send me the link via my email: vannyle87@hotmail.com, because I’m the one making this video. [Or if somebody wants to take this work, just say your opinion here and we will discuss]. And please don’t forget to tell me, what country you’re from ^^

i did a search on yahoo korea with his name. its uploaded on two sites and they said it was him. but i asked Sunlight and she said she didn't think so. this baby doesn't look like him, esp the eyebrow comparing to his baby pictures that were shown in his concert. what do you think? Seriously, these are great clothes. NICE NICE tight fitting jeans/pants. And he looks great wearing them. The simple cut and styles of the clothes just work; you can even overlook the hair. It's what someone his age should be wearing. Unlike the tie in the above concert pics.
