Hey guys. I'm working on this week's ep as usual. Posting the first part here first, since I KNOW you guys will be interested in what LSG was saying in the convertible. Will post the second half later, with some other stuff when I'm done. LSG is UBER cute in this ep! I'm interested in hearing your comments on this episode. What do you think of our guy, after seeing this super cute side to him?

Here goes. Please don't take it out, since I'm going to be making changes to it and posting it on the fansubs blog when I'm done

KHD: Oh? Anxiety? Anxiety! Bye! Irritability? Irritability? Bye! Oh~! Worry? Worry! Bye!! Go away, the frustrations and worries of this world! This is where the best perk-me-up, the laughs and gags are~~ 1Night! 2Days!

KHD's newly invented opening line threw me off track for a second. Its a nice change though.

KHD: Where are we going for this week? Here lies the border of Korea's territory, so there's no more land if you go beyond this sea. Well, for the past decade or so, it hasn't snowed much in Haenam, but this has been reversed on our 1 night 2 days trip.

MCM: Its snowing today!
LSG: (It was hard getting here), we couldn't really see in front, our car...
EJW: Me too, I nearly died trying to get here! I nearly died!
LSG: But really, in winter, we must change our spare tyre. Why so? This is...
KimC: Spare tyre?
LSG: Isn't it spare tyre?
KImC: Its snow tyre!
LSG: Oh yea!

[He indeed is Huh-dang Seung Gi...]

KHD: Here, let's do this once again, today on the broadcast of 1 night 2 days, we apologize once more.
LSG: Hey don't do this please, don't do this!

LOL!! I didn't know there was such a big reaction by the audience. I haven't gone on the korean forums and sites for a couple of weeks now. Well, even though I ADORE LSG to bits, I was quite happy on one hand to see them leave LSG behind. It meant more airtime for the cutie! Oh, but the suffering he had to go through! Poor Seung Gi.

KHD: Are you guys cold now?
EJW: Huh?
KHD: Are you cold?
LSGuen: Is there even any way not to be cold (in this weather)?
KHD: I'm now...
MCM: (cuts into KHD's talking) Take it off!

The guys find out that KHD has piled on the clothes, one layer after the other, and he's even worn long johns beneath all the layers. Obviously he's going to be warm and comfy with all that protection!

MCM: (If I piled on the layers) like this, I wouldn't be cold too!
KHD: No, anyway, we are finally going to set off in the snow to our base camp at Haenam in a while. Its snowing hard today...
EJW: Hahaha! This is the first time I've seen someone wearing a scarf all the way to the chin!
[He has no neck so chin scarf(?)...]

Nice one, Eun Cho Ding! The snow starts making its way down furiously, and KHD proceeds to introduce their base camp today, in the hope of getting away from the freezing cold soon. Their base camp this week is at a traditional house with 93 years of history in Haenam's yoosongwan, where a couple of movies have been filmed. Its their 35th trip and they're headed off to the favourite filming location for a few of their local film directors. They provided the chinese name to this place, its 游仙馆, which is a really pretty name, fitting of the place. It literally translates to a place where gods and fairies play (in chinese). The guys call out once more and prepare to leave.

KHD: Let's do this in a cool manner before we go for our 1N2D trip!
(everyone yells)
PD: Ok guys, we've prepared two cars for you to get to our destination. We need you to split into 2 teams of 3 for this. There's no navigation device in the cars, so you'll have to stop and ask the locals for directions along the way.
LSG: But since (the place) is famous, isn't it going to be easy?
KHD: So we're going to split into 2 teams , take the car and make our way there ourselves, the team who reaches first is going to get something and the later team will get punished isn't it?
PD: That's the idea.
KHD: So what is the winning team going to get?
PD: The winning team will get to stay in the warm room for two hours just to rest.
KHD: How about the guys who lose?
PD: At the traditional house there's a beautiful lake.
[Could it be...?]
PD: Thus, the losing team will go for a dip in the lake.

The guys are shocked at this bomb that the PD casually drops.

EJW: We can't go into the lake! Really, we can't!
KHD: Totally (in the water) up to the head? Diving?
LSGuen: Diving
(the guys in the background say this can't be, but LSGuen shockingly agrees)
LSGuen: Call!
KHD: Hey, if we win, why would we care? (to KimC) Isn't it so?
KimC: Of course! Its ok as long as its not me.

And so, after a game of scissors, paper and stone, the teams are formed, with HoDong leading the two kids Huh-dang and Cho Ding, while KimC takes the two jokers, the driver and wild monkey.

KHD: Our cars... are they cars or buses?
PD: One of the cars is the compact car, which you guys have taken many times. The other car is an open top convertible.
[An open top car when the cold winds are blowing...!]

The guys groan. LSG jumps around saying they can't take the convertible I think he's flashing back to the first time he did that in winter, with KHD and KimC in that red car He goes over to the car to check if the fuel is topped up. Meanwhile, after a game of scissors, paper and stone, HoDong's team gets to pick the car that they desire. He starts playing around with EJW's scarf, while LSGuen calls out impatiently.

LSGuen: Hyung-nim! Hyung-nim! Please hurry up and pick one!
KHD: If we take the sports car and drive it in this weather, we're going to die (from the cold).

[The losing team picks the convertible]

LSGuen: We're going off!
KHD: Wait a minute, wait wait wait wait! Hey, you take the other car. Get out, get out! This is our car.
[Great! Our strategy...!]
LSGuen: Ah, really?
[The losing team runs off happily]
KHD: Wait wait wait! Why are you guys so happy? Why so happy? This makes me feel uneasy?
[HoDong is uneasy]

Of course the guys are delighted at tricking KHD so easily into taking the open top car!

[Eun Cho Ding gets into the driver's seat]
[Of course Su Guen is driving on this side!]

KimC: Let's get going fast. Get lost, get lost!
LSGuen: Excuse me, sorry but can you move and let us pass?
LSG: Hyung let's set off fast!
KHD: Stop, stop, stop, stop! Hey you three! Stop stop stop! You can't set off now!
[They drive beside the compact car]

Only Eun Cho Ding can say something so mean and come across as cute, even when its directed at our lovely prince LSG. He looks like a baby bear wrapped up in all those layers. I wish LSG had covered up a bit more, he looks mighty cold in the back seat!

[Meanwhile, following behind, the compact car]
LSGuen: Its warm here, for us...!

The guys let out evil cackles. Meanwhile our poor baby feels the icy hands of the winter winds.

[And at the convertible...]
LSG: Oh its cold! Oh!!! Its cold!!! Its so cold!!
EJW: Should we ask that person where to go?
KHD: Hi madam! Where do we go to get to YooSonGwan?
LSGuen: They're (asking for directions) here.
KimC: Let's just go ahead! We'll just go!
[They just cut ahead, the compact car]
Resident: Just drive straight for 20 minutes.
LSG: We can just drive straight all the way?
KHD: Bye madam!

KimC: I took that (the sports car) before, my head froze. Really, it froze!

[FREEZING]
KHD: Oh, what should we do? We have to go off on our 1N2D trip, but when I watched the news, they were warning about a cold wave!
[Its a cold wave alarm here]

[They have a chance to plot against the convertible]

KimC and LSGuen start trying to plot against the team in the convertible. They figure that they could make a turn into one of the alleys, and the convertible car would naturally follow,thinking it the right way to go. And since the convertible is likely to find it more difficult to get out of the alley, they would be able to gain a substantial lead. Very cunning guys. With that, the guys make a right turn at the next junction. Nice try, but EJW doesn't get fooled.

KHD: Wow, its really cold.
[Behind them, the convertible]
EJW: Oh? They are turning in? But we are supposed to go straight ahead.
KHD: Why why why why why?
LSG: We are supposed to go STRAIGHT!
EJW: Yea hyung, we are supposed to go straight, we have to just keep going straight like this!
[To turn or not to turn right]
[Just going straight!]
KimC: They went on!
MCM: They didn't get cheated!!
[MADNESS!]
[While the compact car team is in the midst of chaos]
[The open car team takes off leisurely]

EJW: Where did the (compact car) go?
KHD: Hi, do you know how to get to YooSonGwan? Oh you don't know?
LSG: Oh there's a guy on the lorry!
EJW: Oh, we can try asking the guy?
KHD: HOW DO WE GET TO YOOSONGWAN? Teacher how do we get to YooSonGwan? YooSonGwan!

Cutie pie tries to save himself. His brilliant idea is to try pulling up the covers while the convertible is moving. Oh goodness, he's Huh-Dang, no doubt about it.

KHD: He's trying to close the cover of the convertible now...!
LSG: Arghhhh!
[The heartbreaking sight in the convertible]
[The snow grows thicker]
EJW:Where are we?
KHD: I have no idea. Let's pull up at the petrol station and ask. The petrol station.
[They decide to go to the petrol station first]
[And ask for directions there!]
[Meanwhile in the compact car following behind]
KimC: Let's just go, just go!
[The compact car team decides to continue going straight, the open car heads to the petrol station]

KHD: Teacher! How do we get to YooSonGwan? Can we just keep going straight?
Guy: YooSonGwan? You make a right turn in front, just turn right in front!
[They have to make a right turn!]
[But the compact car went straight]
Guy: You will see a DaeHeungSa there and get get out there!

LSG: No matter what (we must win), no matter what!
[Seung Gi who has suffered much in the back seat]
[Must win...]
LSG: It feels like its hai hai hailing...! Wow, really I can't seem to do anything else but laugh (in the cold). Bring on the songs again!

2PM's 10 out of 10 comes on! Oh my god, that song brings back WONDERFUL memories of the Kpop night we had here a few months ago. I love the song! Meanwhile, Seung Gi goes a little nutty in his coldness.

[This... what's he doing?]
[I'm not cold at all... I'm really happy now...]

EJW and KHD start a conversation in the front seat, until EJW suddenly catches sight of a mad Seung Gi in the back seat.

EJW: Seung Gi's gone crazy!
[Seung Gi's entertaining himself alone]
LSG: 10 OUT OF 10!!
[And now]
[They slowly advance near YooSonGwan]
[Confident of winning, the three guys]
KHD: Haha, those guys went straight...
LSG: This is great, great!
EJW: Seung Gi yah!
LSG: EJW go, JW go!
KHD: Hey, the lake's freezing cold, the guys are gonna die!

Since they are in the lead, KHD asks EJW to go a little slower. KimC and guys on the car though, are worried since they see no one on the roads, and they get a sinking feeling that they're lagging behind. KimC tells LSGuen that he feels extremely uneasy, and they continue driving. Meanwhile, the convertible team has made some changes to their current positions.

[Meanwhile]
[Finally changed his seat, Seung Gi]
LSG: Is it in DaeHeungSa? Hyung, is it in DaeHeungSa?
[He's changed seats with Seung Gi but...]
KHD: Oh... there's a world of difference between the front and back seats!

I think KHD asks LSG to just do it on the way. As in on the roads. LOL. Su Guen's team are really worried by now, and KimC snaps at a driving SuGuen. The race continues between the two teams. At the open top convertible, a huge truck whizzes by, and annoys the heck out of KHD, as he experiences the cold first hand.

EJW: Hey, it hasn't even snowed once in Haenam has it?
KHD: Its the first time in 10 years, 10 year!
EJW: Look, the snow has covered the whole road! Its like a big lie (unreal)!
LSG: We are at the most southern part of the country now.
KHD: Victory is ours! The lake is for you guys!

On the smaller car, the guys are also talking about the miraculous snow for the first time in 10 years. Its funny when the car goes through a rough bump, seems the car is really not too stable, even with LSGuen behind the wheels. LSGuen also complains that its really hot in the car. They should really try the convertible for once. Anyway, LSG, KHD and EJW reach first as expected.

[Finally]
[Where YooSonGwan is]
[The convertible reaches the entrance of the DaeHeungSa]
LSG: Hi, is the YooSonGwan in here?
Guy: You're right it is.
[Its the right place!]

The guys are thrilled. But they have one more thing to verify.

KHD: Lee Su Guen and the other guys haven't arrived yet have they?
[How about the others?]
Guy: Yea, they haven't.
[They've not arrived yet!]

The guys let out a huge victory cry. I'm not surprised. After spending so much time in the madly cold convertible, they deserve to arrive first. Especially since they bothered to ask for directions instead of relying on instinct like the other team.

LSG: Then can we go in now?
Guy: Leave your cars here.
KHD: Huh?
Guy: Leave your cars here. You've come (so far) to this famous place, does it make sense for you to take a car up there?
KHD: So we have to leave our cars here? Ok. Let's go
[They have to get down and walk...]
[They quickly park their car]
[And make their way up YooSonGwan]

LSG: Wah, its snowing so heavily! Where's the washroom? I need to visit the washroom. Washroom..
[Continous pressing urge for the washroom, Seung Gi]

[But his hyungs stop and force him!]

LSG tries to ignore KHD and head for the washroom but is stopped by KHD.

KHD: No, No, no you can't! Seung Gi yah! You can't go!
EJW: Seung Gi yah, just go and come quick!
[Antsy]
KHD: Seung Gi yah, get there and go (to the washroom). Yah, the car is here, the car is here! Hurry, hurry!
EJW: OH! THEY'RE HERE!
[The compact car arrives just at the moment]
LSGuen: Oh!
KimC: Hey they're just up in front!

LSG starts searching for his 3 other hyungs who've just arrived.

LSG: Where? Where?

KimC realises that they've been discovered.

KimC: They've seen us, they've seen us!

LSG finally sees his hyungs and starts sprinting away, but in a dilemma, hahaha!

LSG: Oh, its them! Eh!~~ What's this!!~ Argh!! But I have to go to the washroom!
[They just start running away first...]
KimC: Oh, they're running, running! They're running!

wow its so funny...atleast seung gi still a normal human being he doest care if their filming or not he needs the washroom so badly ahh thats the effect of the cold wind he he.. i waited for your translation and now here it is, big hug for sarangaia your the best!

sarangaia: thanks for the summary. Seunggi is so comfortable with his image on screen now. He's becoming a little devilish in his way. The car ride is absolutely hysterical (all of them). The humor of the five guys finally rubbed off on him. It's a big difference from a year ago. Now, he's actually doing physical comedy and farce. He was so stiff in the first episode.

Sarangaia, thank you so much for the translations! I nearly died laughing reading your caps. I just pictured the whole thing in my head again and now with words it's just that much funnier. Seung Gi was undeniably ADORABLE. It's snowing where I live and about -2 C, so I aboslutely understood the cruelty of having the poor boy sitting in the backeat. But dang it, he was just sooo funny! Totally agree with Bedifferent, that he's super comfortable with expressing himself and speaking in front othe camera now. His true character? Part know it all, part air head, part pop star, part comedian too now? I think this episode of Seung Gi really showed the real him. Faced with forces of nature and extreme circumance I don't think you can hide much. Watching him go crazy with cold to the point of delirium and then his cry for the toilet... I just loved every bit of it! In the later half of the eppie, I was surprised a couple times with his boldness and comfort level too. He did some things that showed how much the show and his hyungs have rubbed off on him. He can bet a little tricky too and even knows revenge! Ahh.. our prim and proper little school boy has grown up so much. =)

In reflecting on this past year, this thread is without any question a highlight for me personally. I truly bless the day I found this place --- not only as an outlet to share in loving SeungGi oppa with others who love him, but I've gotten to know some truly great unnees, who I think about outside of this thread and pray for their success in everything they do. I'm so thankful for Lee Seung Gi not just because he's the Mr. Amazing we all know him to be, but I'm also thankful for Lee Seung Gi because...because of him I'm able to smile and be happy with you guys.

I watched Golden Fishery yesterday and Kim Gun Mo was on with super producer Kim Chang Hwan (great episode). KCH mentioned that a husky, rocker-ish voice is something that you have to work on to get. He played the first album of Kim Hyun Shik (who sang that song KHD sang on Kim Jung Eun's Chocolate) and his voice was SO DELICATE. Kim Gun Mo said that he had to basically "burn" his vocal chords for three years to get it to the way it is now...
Point of all this is that it made me think --- I think that LSG's voice in his 1st and 2nd albums took a lot of work and force on his part, and probably decided to discontinue carving his vochal chords in that direction and went on to develop his natural voice (which made sense since he went on to focus on ballads...).

btw, ohh so that`s the reason. And i also heard that if you force your voice too much to sing on a song too hard for your voice, it can hurt your throat. Good thing he hadn`t "burn"ed his vocal chords long. Now the only thing he needs to do is to release a new album with a new hairstyle. We`re waiting Seung gi ah!

I'm at baby level for Japanese, so I can't do much translating, haha. I only know the tickets cost 9,800円 (including tax), there should be around 2000 tickets/seats. The hall opens at 2pm on the day, concert/fan-meeting starts at 3pm, and everything should end by 6pm, but things are subject to changes. I may be wrong, not very sure, but it seems the concert will be held at a hall in Sunplaza in Japan. If my baby Japanese doesn't fail me, I think this is going to include a fan meeting (you know, the signing/handshaking kind) and he's gonna be showing off some stuff he likes to use? (Ok, confused by the japanese words). Application for the event is by the internet, they will send out some kind of verification email and upon verification, it will become formal and there you are, part of the event. Tickets will arrive 1 week before the event and if it doesn't arrive by 22 Jan you've gotta call up the people in charge.

They have some kind of restrictions for the type of gifts that are allowed in, but I can't read it. Its too complicated for me, haha. And I'm quite sure there will be official filming in the hall, even though personal filming and photography is apparently prohibited. Oh gosh. I need to hurry up and learn Japanese. LOL.

Finally a concert. So near but so far! Sigh~~
