w00t.gif Thank you so much! Definitely saving that link. I didn't get a chance to watch the Love Letter eps w/ subs, so those'll be cool to see as well.

You're welcome. I was happy that yonnie saved the files. Both of SGi's appearances (interviews and performances) last year on Love Letter were completely subbed by a couple of subbers. I hope you saw the whole performances. They were my favorite of all his music show appearances in '08. Lots of thanks to Eloise for the translations that were used in those cuts.

<< is it me or it seems seung gi could only sit with a half of his butt >< wasn't there anything bigger for the four of them?

HAHAHA. You're funnayyyy. The settings for those photos are pretty bland isn't it. I almost cringe when I saw the flowers. I like the first 3 Edwin pics. Actually thought that the third photo with the checkered shirt was really nice. He looks natural, happy and the clothes were appropriate for his age. He looks so much better in casual clothes. The clothes don't overpower or age him. That's a really good pic for a banner, caroline mommy *cough*. hehe

OK, I'm going to be direct here. Lucy, vest AND torn stonewashed jeans are both questionnable. Hm, I miss ivey and her fashion reviews. (where are you?). Beside the budget-conscious feel, the photographer managed to make two extremely attractive people looking awkward, stiff and uninterested. The photo promos are not giving the drama a good head start at all. Sigh.

Caroline, I think SGi hair looks better styled than on 1N2D. Imagine if he got the right clothes. hihi. I still love his 2007 Vol. 3 suit-look the best. It's how I got to know the guy. idk, maybe I'm just one of those people who take a long time to adjust to new things. IMHO, he is really photogenic but these drama promo pics just don't managed to capture the spark (by him or between them as a couple). The Edwin photographer has a much better feel for the subjects. SGi responded much better in the clothing ads.

Thank you PuPaE. I was totally serious about having a regular post on the blog for your pics. smile.gif

Hi there fellow SeungGi-shippers ~~~ it has definitely been a WHILE ~~~

Just wanted to post my two cents on what you had posted about LSG's career BeeUNNee:

I am definitely glad that he didn't go forward with Iljimae. Not because it was going to mean leaving 1N2D, but because frankly, I didn't want the comparisons to Lee JunKi that would have come with doing it. I'm not afraid that he wouldn't have done a better job --- it's just that for his big first project, I don't think he should have done something that was already done, and done so recently.

I don't think LSG has "outgrown" 1N2D. That actually makes 1N2D sound small (I personally think the show is bigger than LSG).
I don't think it's a shame at all if he's considering 1N2D's schedule when considering other projects, but I think that that isn't the case: I think that if there was a great project that would require him to leave 1N2D, he would do it (and I have come to terms with being okay with that if it were to happen. Really I have...).

What I DO think would be a shame is if this drama he is shooting now is the same tired stuff that (in my opinion) dramas are (just as most variety shows are round table talk shows). Obviously, we'll have to see how things play out, but I seriously hope that:
THE DRAMA IS GOOD, UNIQUE AND DIFFERENT. I hope that the drama is ABOUT something more than being popular. God forbid the drama glorify excess and snobbery and frown upon those 99.5% of kids who don't come from billionaire families and have it be the talk of the entire country --- I cringe at the thought of LSG being a part of something as misguided as that.
I PRAY THAT LSG's CHARACTER IS COMPLEX, MULTI-DIMENSIONAL, AND ORIGINAL. We all know that this relies HEAVILY on the writers, but I hope LSG can elevate the lines he is given... The only LSG acting I've seen is him in his MVs...completely different than dramas I would think...so..............FINGERS CROSSED.

onimgaganda83 - you were able to special order the 1st album?! That's the only one I don't have!

Sorry to cut your post.
I couldn't agree more. I don't think that 1N2D is a small show at all, it's one of the best shows out there currently. But I think it's really helping LSG become even more recognized =) On every variety show I've seen him on, he's a dynamic guest that doesn't fade into the background and it's the same with 1N2D too. So happy to see him on there ^^

Hey honey, you showed up here finally. I was thinking when will we get our old gang back. I stumbled back trying to make this thread the awesomest thread that it used to be. We just need a couple more missing players and we'll be fine.

Regarding Iljimae: I agree, it would be tiresome and slightly risky to remake something that has been done so recently beforehand. Especially when it is your first real attempt at a leading role. I guess you can apply the same concept to Jung Il-Woo. Yet the guy took the role and run with it. I think it is all in the will to just take the chance. It does not mean that SGi was any less of an actor for chosing not to take it. But in the same perspective, I tip my hat to JIW for having the audacity to take the chance. And the talent to make the role worked.

I do think that 1N2D is bigger than any of the six guys. You are correct. I have never said that the show is small. But the opportunities that the show gives to any of the men - those do have limits. It is a formatted show, given that there are unexpected things that happen every week. That's why 1N2D is a great show. It retains the familiarity that we love about it: traveling, playing games, the warmth, the humor, the friendship... yet, there is always something different, unexpected, and so heartwarming happening on each trip. However, I do sense that there are things that LSGi the actor and singer perhaps need that cannot be provided by the show. It's kinda like when actors say they use different acting muscles when they perform in theater vs. when they film movies vs. doing dramas. It does not mean that the show is small; it only means that perhaps LSGi needs will change. Both you and I know that I love the show; but I do retain some sort of objectives when I discuss about LSGi role in it. And I think it's great that we all have his best interests in mind no matter how different our opinions are. It also does not mean that you or I are always right. Or always wrong in these matters.

You are right, he is placing a lot of weight on 1N2D since the roles that are being offered is not good enough for him to consider leaving 1N2D. My point is same as yours; that he should not hesitate if the role is meaty enough. But if the time comes, I don't know if it is a good idea trying to do both. A shared attempt is not fair for either party. I do think that he would miss the guys terribly though. I don't think my eyes would be dry when the time comes that SGi has to leave 1N2D.

About A Dazzling Heritage or what is it now? Shining Inheritance? Uhhh, I have to check the title again. LOL. I don't know if I should be placing lots of wishful thinking on the drama. I think I'm more concern about LSGi performance and the materials that they give him. Good actors can turn those iffy roles into something more than it is on paper. But I seriously hope that is not the case for Seunggi. I want him to have solid scripts and a legitimate chance to prove his acting potential. I really do like all of his music videos. I thought he was quite natural in front of the camera, given his experience and age. I wish him lots of luck. Will be closely following this one. LOL.
ivey79
Hello gang! I heard there was a party and someone called? Thanks B (Bedifferent hope you don't mind if I call you that from now on, but I won't add an unnie after it like someone else =) thanks for calling me out. I've been a bit of lurker for the last few months and haven't really had the motivation to post for personal reasons, but since someone called I gotta answer right? I do reminesce those good old days in the summer with fangirling, daily chats and debate over questionable fashion, but then it's a new year right? Thanks guys for kick starting the forum again.

Eequezee, B it was really interesting your views on Seung Gi's career both on his choice not to do Iljimae and how 1n2d is affecting his decisions. After watching bits of Iljimae I can't help but be a little wistfull in thinking what it would've been like if he had taken on that role. What kind of actor he might've or could've become thorugh the experience. I too commend JIW for taking on the role. It was a big risk to follow up after such a high profile remake, but as we all know now he's made the role into something esle altogether different form LJK's version. I also see why they had chosen Seung Gi in the first place. This version of Iljimae is a coming of age story and has a rather elegant and refined feel to it. Seung Gi at that time had just those qualities. Sigh.. I can't help but wonder what he could've done with the character. But in the end I'm kinda glad he didn't take on the role. Why? Becuase as it's changed and matured JIL I'm sure it would've done the same to Seung Gi. I guess I'm a bit selfish in that I love Seung Gi for all his youth and cuteness and I want so much to keep him this way as long as possible. I guess I'm in a dilemma about this. For Seung Gi's future and for not wanting to waste Seung Gi's talent and potential, I want him to find bigger and better oppurtunities. But as I've watched him over the year I'm slowly getting more and more attached to every bit of innocence and youth, huh dungness that's left in him. I don't wish for that to leave any sooner that it has too. Fandom isn't as easy as it use to be is it girls? All these things we have to consider and worry about. I guess, the larger part of me wishes for Seung Gi to find the next step in his career, something that would really help establish him wether it be a singer or actor. But the other side of me is afraid that it would change him form what I love the most right now. In the end, I know I'll still love him no matter what. It's his core character and talent that I admire most afterall.

Now regarding fashion. Gosh, I have no words left these days for how he's dressed. I just sincerely hope, pray, wish that his cody will be fired, re-educated or shipped off to some other place that his/her fashion would make sense soon. I mean, the poor boy is dressed so oddly these days. Grandma sweater vests, fishing hats ( baseball caps work just as well for blocking the sun Seung Gi!), baggy cargo pants, and in the latest ep pants so tight their cutting off his circulation?! It was quite funny but even girls should't do that! After recently rewatching some of his first few eps on 1n2d, i remember thinking at that time how this what an ideal boyfriend should dress like. Super cute, young fashion that's simple and classy. The guy is slender, tall, and toned, that should be super easy to dress. The pics from the new drama shoot aren't really that bad if you consider what he's been wearing lately. At least it's cleancut and the white shirt looks nice. Loads better than what he wears for his own performances. I'm not sure how I feel about the hair though. It's better styled than flat, but I still think it's a bit top heavy in the front. Yeah, I too miss Album 3 stying. The tailored suits, fitted dress shirts and pants that fit appropriately. I thought he was the definition of GQ. =) We'll see how the drama and the fashion pan out.

Sorry for the rambling. It's been a while. Nite everyone!!
sarangaia
The gang's back! ivey unnie, I've missed you LOADSSSSS. Where have you been? I agree with you on the stylist. These days I'm too tired to point out his iffy fashion anymore. What exactly is the problem? Did the stylist not go to fashion school, or is she simply on bad terms with his clothing sponsors. Or could it be that she (I'm assuming its a she) just wants to keep the seung gi with a sleek image to herself and hates the idea of showing the world the handsome seung gi? Whatever it is, please please please go away! I hope they dress him well for the drama.

B unnie, this thread is still the awesome-est because you, alyssa, ivey unnie and everyone else is still here after so long!! I'm a little skeptical with his new role (just as I was skeptical of him taking up the Iljimae project initially) Anyway, what's with them changing the drama name so many times? Its confusing when they do that.

My take on the Iljimae issue is that I'm glad he didn't take up the project. Especially after seeing JIW in it. For me, it wasn't so much about taking a risk since he'd be competing with LJK's version or anything, but more of the timing. I'm sure LSG has great potential and talent as an actor, but at that point of time, his singer image was just too overwhelming, especially when coupled with his insane popularity on 1N2D. I'm not sure if it would have worked against or for him, his whole image as a singer, especially with respect to a role in a saeguk drama. The whole idea of popularity rooted in an image (here with him being a talent singer/entertainer of sorts) is kind of like a double edged sword when you think about it. People could love you when you deviate from the image and take up a drama role, and they could hate you even more for it. I was actually really afraid when he took up the Iljimae project, and I'll admit there were times when I thought it might turn out to be as nightmarish as when se7en acted in Goong S. I mean, I know LSG has acted in 7 princesses, and that sitcom and all, but his main focus has always been singing after all, and to suddenly plunge into a saeguk role would be quite a huge thing for viewers to start getting used to, especially when you're going to be compared with LJK. For JIW, there was much less of a problem here since he WAS a serious (by serious I mean main focus) actor to begin with. Haha, I can foresee a lot of people disagreeing with me on this already. The new role LSG's taken up seems to be less of a jump in image, and it'll probably be easier to ease viewers into being convinced by his acting. But this is purely my own opinion. That being said, I also feel wistful sometimes thinking about what could have been if he'd taken up the drama. LSG does have the refined, soft and quietly strong feel about him which JIW has (thereby making him a successful alternative portrayal of Iljimae), and I think he'd have done a great job too. But what's done is done, and there's no looking back.

But I'm with B unnie on the fact that 1N2D can be limiting to LSG's growth in some ways. On 1N2D, I tend to see him as just LSG. Not singer LSG, not actor LSG, not CF LSG, but just plain LSG as who he is (with a teeeeny teeeeny wee wee bit if at all, of scripting). The show gives him a chance to show us who he is as a person, the kind of random thoughts he has, the way he interacts with people, even the way he handles things at times. There is a limit to what he can show us with this. You can't see him emote in a role as he will in a drama on 1N2D. Even when he sings on the show (think the guerilla concert), it seems more laid back, casual, without the professional perfection he exudes on say, music bank. After 2 years, 3 years, or 5 years (if the show lasts that long) on 1N2D, there will slowly but surely be less and less that he can show us. This has nothing to do with 1N2D at all, its just that when you are in the same environment for too long, you will become stagnant, no matter how good or conducive the environment is. Its just how things are everywhere in life. 1N2D has managed to strengthen his likeable image and build his popularity with a wide base of viewers, and is no doubt a good supporting foundation for him to expand from, to add on to his portfolio. With this line of thought, I'm glad he's taking up a drama now. Whether or not its a hit or flop, he'd have gained something from it, and I'm sure it will be reflected in his music and his future participation in 1N2D.

One thing though. The character he's playing in the drama seems... I don't know. Could be a challenge. The character is 27 years old for one thing. That's kind of a stretch even for me to believe in, after seeing some of the drama stills. He looks like a very very very youthful 27 year old biggrin.gif The stills I saw weren't fantastic too. LSG and HHJ looked stiff and awkward with each other. I wonder if its the photographer, or that they simply just haven't built up enough rapport yet. And the plot, oh the plot. It sounds exactly like what's been done for the past few years in Kdramas. I'm not sure how new a spin they can put to a cliched plot like this. I'm definitely hoping that they can make it as fresh as CP was. Who's the scriptwriter? You'll realise I'm kind of iffy about things now, but I have my reasons. For one thing, if I start watching a drama with no or little expectations, its much easier for me to like the drama than if I have high expectations. And I really do want to enjoy watching LSG every weekend. Cross fingers.

Woo. That was long. Ok, I'll run along. Cya guys~~~

Hey hey, hello people.

Ivey: haha. Welcome back. Please do drop the surname unnie. I can't believe how my name has changed since I started to join that thread. Thanks Alyssa. Haha. Uhh, Alyssa, you're not mad at me are you? I'm sending you those blinky lights glasses if you are.

I really love your comments. I just realize how much I miss your take on things. Hmm, now if I could only get Eloise to post. And to post for more than just 1-2 sentences. LOL. Yes, yes. That is exactly my feeling when I read JIW interview on dramabeans. He is really suited for the role. The guy has this matured introspective take on acting and his role that makes me slightly uneasy. I don't know if that is his personality to begin with and Iljimae just brought it out more or whether the drama changed him to become this way. Overall, the interview has this melancholic and serious feel to it that is way too somber for me. I'm glad that JIW pursues his acting on that level. I don't know if I would like SGi to become like that right away. I see where all of you are coming from. My opinion is that I'd love if SGi could pursue some roles that are more in tune with his personality, but with a bit more weight and complexity. I think that would fit him at this time. Maybe down the road, in 4-5 years, when he is older and is more experienced, he could choose to pursue projects that challenge him more. Those tend to delve deeper into the human complex and be more risqué and complicated in terms of acting. There you go Seunggi, stay huh-dang for as long as you can, OK?

Fashion wise: I think his cody is a male if I'm not mistaken. Same one that he used during 2007. For me, the patchwork Raggedy Anne jeans and jacket PLUS white sweater vest (in E98) win the all time worst dressed award. I just could not believe my eyes when I saw that. Seriously, I have been watching some of his old performances during the I'll Give You All promo. I realize now that I'll settle for seeing those scarfs and lumber jack shirts anytime any day again. LOL.

Sarangaia: I agree with you. For someone who is as popular as Seunggi is at this moment, it is very hard for fans to accept change. His nice, polite, sweet guy image is one that a lot of people held dear. It is hard to deviate from it. The image gives him his visibility but it also makes it hard for him to take on another different one so soon. I think that could be one of the things that he and his management company are taking into consideration now when he chooses projects. In some way it is good, but I just hope that he does not let go of great opportunities because of those reasons. I agree that it is about timing. Once it is time for Seunggi to shed his current image and the need to reinvent himself is required, I hope that there are plenty of opportunities await for him at his choosing.

I totally agree with your analysis regarding 1N2D. The show is great in giving him the exposures that he needed at the time he joined it. However, as a person, he will change and his needs will change. He would want to try new things (which he always has stated that he wants to) that can be provided by other outlets besides 1N2D. I'm absolutely thankful that he was able to grow so much on the show. I think that he is very fortunate to have the opportunity to work on it. I also think that in the future, if he truly needs to leave, it would be amicable to both him and the 1N2D production. Waaahhhh. When will that be?

Caroline, thanks so much for those caps! Seung Gi on Golden Fishery and with Lee Sun Hee?! That's awesome. From the looks of embarrasment, there must of been some juicy dirt dug up. Probably from his trainy days. It's times like these I really wish I knew Korean. But personally I love seeing thse two together. The mentor-student-relationship vibe they give off feels so sweet and genuine. She seems like an incredible mentor and Seung Gi was very fortunate to have had her as a guide. As we've discussed in the past, I believe she really helped shape and mold the fondations for him early in his career both as a singer and as a person. What I love about LSH, apart from her obviously amazing vocals, is her ability to control her voice and the incredible range of styles she can achieve. Wether singing most softly in a tender sweet ballad, or rocking it out in her super husky booming voice, she is equally as convincing and well... fantastic! I think that's what caught my attention about Seung Gi's voice back in the early days or even in the latter Xman period. Because he emulated her singing style, he stood out from most standard balladers such as Tei or Sung Sy Kyung (although they both have amazing voices too), I thought. When he sang he didn't hold back. He projected, he was passionate, even at times sounded like he was doing a sing songy type of shouting/yelling, which I loved. I'm just really really happy that she was the one who ended up with a talent like Seung Gi. Too bad she's not still with him as a vocal coach. He's become much more refined, but I miss that oomph and rock in his voice. I'll have to see if I can dl this ep. Maybe there be a bit of a duet? Now that would be too cool =)

Now regarding the hair...still too top heavy for my taste. If the objective was to make him look older, then it's definitely doing that. But if not, may I ask for another trim please?

Thank you caroline. Time to search You Tube for that episode of Golden Fishery. More screencaps (Credit: ava/leeseunggi.ifensi.com)
I love them together. She aged so gracefully.

I remember posting these JUMP GURO pictures last year with watermarks. These are cleaner versions. Love the combo of pink shirt and striped sweater here.

"Please do drop the surname unnie. I can't believe how my name has changed since I started to join that thread. Thanks Alyssa" Are you mad at me for this?

caroline and bedifferent (I'm sorry this just doesn't feel right to me! HA.) - Thank you for those pics of LSG on MooroobPak Dosa.
First, I love how KHD was calling him Lee Seung Gi-ssi (formal and professional). It's like in the viewers trip where he was talking to Baek Ji Yung like his little sister and then on stage was talking to her with professionalism on stage. Also, you could totally tell KHD was so happy to have LSG on. Loved it when KHD went EELBAK! And LSG goes, "This is a bit...(awkward because they were at MBC).

LSG said that he came on because he was concerned for Lee Sun Hee, as she doesn't at all have a knack for variety (isn't funny) so he came to help her out. He said that they prepared some funny stories last night. Lee Sun Hee told one and it TANKED! So then LSG said, "we shouldn't tell them all" (HAHA!). LSG then started to get more nervous (feeling the pressure to help Lee Sun Hee - which was so sweet and the reason why I love him so much). KHD and Lee Sun Hee could totally feel his nervousness and Lee Sun Hee called him out on it, and LSG was like, "I should leave..." The funny came from nothing they had prepared haha. Isn't that always the best?

The behind the scenes bit was the Lee Sun Hee approached LSG about singing and LSG turned her down because he didn't know who she was (HA!). But then he went home and told his parents (who clearly knew who she was). Four Orange Exclamation Marks went on and LSG's parents made him call her immediately so LSG did, saying "I changed my mind I'll see you first thing tomorrow morning."

Anyhoo...

I kept mulling over LSG's acting over the past couple days, and I would have to say the following. Know that I'm saying this out of being (over)protective of SeungGi-Oppa. I haven't watched a single episode of either Iljimaes, so I really can't comment on the leads of those two actors.
Also, the only acting I've seen of LSG are in his MVs and CFs. So the only thing I have to go on with regard to how good an actor he is is his MVs (because he's just aegyo-ing in his CFs). I guess what I'm saying is --- I just don't know HOW GOOD his acting ability based on his MVs (even though he may ahve shown promise in them). What I DOO know is that SeungGi-Oppa is going to give it his ALL - so more than I'm worried about him, I'm worried about the writers, director, and PDs of this drama...

Hi PuPaE ~!~
ivey79
My dear Eequeezee, thanks for the summaries! I was sooo curious as to what went on in the conversations. They were all laughing like crazy and it was frustrating cause I wasn't getting any of it! So thank you. And I all I have to say is "awww" that's super cute that he's worried of his sunbae (is that the right term?). Guess he really wanted to make sure her appearance was a sucess. It seems everything turned out well. They all had good chemistry together and I loved the little stares and looks between everyone. It showed how close and comfortable Seung Gi was with both Ho Dong and LSH. And regarding your take on the drama and his acting, I completely agree. Not even for a second did it cross my mind to worry about his actual acting. I was just worried he wouldn't be given good enuf stuff to act with! Whatever it is, he will definitely give it his all. Afterall the camera loves him and I think he's a natural.

Bedifferent, eequeezee, sarangaia, ivey … I so enjoyed reading your thoughts on Seung Gi’s "career" choices, for want of a better word. Thanks for sharing. Hope it’s not too late to join in the discussion.

Here’s my take:

I think Seung Gi and his management company ARE making safe choices. And I don’t blame them. While popularity isn’t everything, it translates into how much you are in demand, how much investors are willing to spend on you, how much you can make, how much muscles you can flex, how many options you can have.

If Seung Gi had not erupted into fame the way he did with his first album, and consolidated his popularity as noonas’ dream with his 2nd album and Xman appearance, perhaps it would have been easier for him to take more risks. There would be less at stakes, less expectations all round. But things turned out the way it did and he is “trapped”. It would be unrealistic for his management company not to choose the safe route. It would also be near impossible for Seung Gi, still a teenager at that point to have a say as to what he wanted to do.

The entertainment world is harsh, and it seems like the K-scene is even harsher. K- entertainers seem to be paid much less, are subjected to more critical scrutiny by the public and it’s more the rule than the exception that their “shelf life” (no disrespect meant) is a lot shorter than their counterparts in other countries. To add to the pressure, new “artists” sprout by the dozen each month, all waiting for that one big break to get a bigger piece of the pie.

So, as an entertainer, unless you are solidly bankable either with a sustained streak of explosive popularity or a strong overseas market following, you are very vulnerable. The cruel reality is that it’s not as if you can decide which point on the continuum of popularity you can fall back on if your new project fails. Even bankable artists may not get another shot if 2 consecutive projects flop. The industry must be a lot less forgiving to the less bankable ones.

Seung Gi is up against all the threats, but he does not yet have the cushion to afford him the luxury of making a mistake. Before Seung Gi fans clobber me for saying what follows, let me declare that I’m a diehard fan. I’m not saying that Seung Gi is not popular. In fact I think he is easily among the top most popular male singers in the country right now, and that goes for his popularity level as a variety show co-host too. But I don’t think he is explosively popular - not when the music scene is all about idol groups as it is now. If he were, we should be able to see a continuous flow of news titbits on his new drama by now. Not just a photo shoot session that’s reported half a month after the event and a really brief teaser that’s sandwiched in between other reports. So I think while 1n2d gives Seung Gi the visibility and channel to showcase himself, hence helping to sustain/increase his popularity, he is vulnerable as a singer, which was almost all that he was before he joined the show.

So staying on 1n2d is a safe choice.
Dropping Return of Iljimae is a safe choice.
Not pushing out a new album right now is a safe choice.
Trying out his hand in a drama concurrently with staying in 1n2d is a safe choice.

Come to think of it, do they really have a choice?

Hopefully, Dazzling Heritage turns out to be the right vehicle for Seung Gi.
P-L-E-A-S-E ! Let it be the right choice.

eequeezee and sarangaia: I'm not mad at you silly. I'm just busy trying to get ready tp leave for my vacation. Yippeee.

Eloise, you spoke... haha. And what impressive thoughts they are. *doing the 108 Cho-Ding bows to you*

I guess SGi's management company does have his best intention in mind. Safekeeping the status quo for now. It's a rough business he chose to be part of. I'm happy that he does have Plan B, continuing with his study post-grad.

Just to add to your thoughts, many of us here knew for a long time that Seunggi will most likely never be like Rain. He would never be the idol in a mass-obsessed sense. However, his popularity is not one that is short-fleeting. I think the support that he has from his fans maybe considered low key to many; but no less loyal. In a way, I don't mind that he is not the typical idol; given all the things that he will face and have to deal with. There is always that fear by many that he will lose all the characters that make him special and dear to us if he becomes too mainstream. I like him the way that he is at the moment. Although Seunggi may not have a big piece of the pie, I'm actually thankful that he was spared of having the scars from fighting for it.

EDIT: whew, finished the 50-min Baekdusan cut. Really have to thank soonjap on this one, sarangaia. Those translations had a lot of references tied to them. She did the translations within a day! Random: I was listening to LSGi Vol.1 while I was subbing and then I saw these pics on the ifensi site. Thanks to juliapenn for reposting them. Aww, it has been a long time seeing these 2 on stage together.

Oh my, i couldn`t keep myself away from coming back.. All the discussions.. they are so much from the hearts.. i could feel just by reading it. Every sentences and every words, couldn`t miss any of it. biggrin.gif
But about the drama, i didn`t knew you were so worried about it. For me, i`m very much eagerly waiting for it. Even if it`s not one of those hot topics and all, i think It will be a very helpful experience for him. And that way he can be more experienced more respected and be in the business for a long time. smile.gif Anyways, I just wish he could sing some of the OSTs of the drama! That way in my opinion he can still have the image as a singer. A very multitalented genuine one.. ^^

And.. i don`t think i can be one of those to discuss.. On those serious issues.. smile.gif It`s just fun enough to read.
The thread wasn`t complete for a long time without all the readings... So onni-s! keep on discussing.. Don`t go anywhere. Missed all this discussions and serious talks you did! smile.gif Me, not interefering when the seniors are talking.
But Seung gi.. he`s very lucky to have these very loyal and caring fans to discuss every little thing he did, he wore and will have. It makes me proud. ^^

I don't know if my opinion will count or anything as I'm not a long time Seungki's fans or anything. Personally, I don't want Seungki to be super popular, the kind of DBSK or Rain popularity. I would prefer if Seungki is moderately popular but still able to maintain his personal space and privacy. Especially at such a young age, it's better for him to enjoy his youth as much as he can. While it's great to amass a huge number of fans and media recognition, he would unfortunately pay for it with his personal life. I want him to live as normal a life as possible. So for me, I'm glad that he is not (as of now) such a media sensation like those other idol stars (a Wonder Girl can't even go to class without people swarming around taking her pictures). This is not to say that I wish his drama flops, no, I hope his drama will be successful but even if it was just so so, it would be just fine for me.

I read your post several times --- THANK YOU for writing all these things that I was feeling but couldn't filter the feelings into thoughts, and thoughts into words.
No clobbering from me - just a big hug!

Hi pink-ki! and hi everyone ~

I just saw some pics in the drama thread (I'm totally confused as to what to call the drama). The ones where LSG was wearing a beige double-breasted jacket... I don't know what to say... I just hope that he's more like the promo pics than that beige stuffy suit...
I'm getting really anxious.

makihiro
hello everyone, thanks for the pics carol mommy..I can't wait for his new drama, I hope it will turn out well..anyway, is LSG's youtube channel suspended (ourleeseunggi)? I am trying to access it but it was said to be suspended:(

LEE SEUNG GI GETS TO RIDE A HARLEY DAVIDSON
(credit:coolsmurf-allkpop)

Lee Seung Gi was given the opportunity of riding a limited edition Harley Davidson Custom Vehicle Operations model down the streets of Samsung-Dong, Seoul yesterday afternoon. He was filming for a scene with Moon Chae Won as his pillion rider for his new SBS weekend drama Shining Inheritance. It was a special moment for Seung Gi as this particular Harley Davidson model is only made sparingly each year with only a few released for sale. This was especially limited with only 1 such model in Korea with it's market price around 60 million KRW. It was specially loaned by the production team from Harley Owners Group Korea for the filming and will be making its first appearance on television soon.

When told about the actual value of the motorcycle, Seung Gi was pretty shocked, "Really? Hope to use this opportunity to properly learn how to ride a bike." Moon Chae Won who was sitting behind Seung Gi expressed, "After Painter of the Wind ended, I was immediately confirmed for Shining Inheritance. It was a smooth filming process previously because it was a excellent work in itself. I believe that this drama will also be well-received by the viewers."

top_seungri
HI EVERYONE!!!!

i love seung gi on a motorcycle lol i think it's totally HOT!!! he looks soo cute! and who's the girl??? did mr BBQ say that he's subbing the his new drama or his old drama????
antinh85
i hope he will do ok. Since he's a newbie in acting, hope people will judge him fairly. NOt like Hwanhee from Fly to the Sky, people criticized him so much even on his first drama. Since this is Seung gi's second drama, hope he can show us he can act. But he seems so shy. I just can seem to see him as an actor. lolz Though he was not bad in "7 princesses"
christy8891
I haven't been making any posts here recently,
but I do have to comment that the 2nd picture of the drama looks really nice.
How everyone here wishes to be the girl on the bike too right? LOL! Me too...

I hope his drama will be well-received!
Although my exams start on the same day the drama is aired,
I will try my best to restrain myself till my exams are over,
and then I will start on my craze! =P

OMG!!!!!!!! i love the trailer!!!! he looks soooo cute!!!! i really can't wait for this now biggrin.gif thanks Vanny
ivey79
Wow, thanks Vanny for the trailer clip. I've been waiting for some glimpse of what the drama will feel like. Seems Seung Gi is taking a departure from his good boy, model student image. A bit of a badass I see? hee hee, he looks dang good but I hope it isn't as cliche as it looks. Ah well, whatever it may be I'm looking forward to another chance for a weekly dose of Seung Gi. And especially a Seung Gi in HOT clothes that fit!

And just coment on your post eloise, I really enjoyed reading your analysis of Seung Gi and is current career choices. I agree that the entertainment world is a bit harsh and unforgiving these days. The emphasis is on youth and whatever the current "it" factor is. Its true that Seung Gi is not quite as well established or may not have the cushion"" as you say as some other more bankable artists, but I hope you don't mind that I have a slightly different take on this topic. I feel it's precisely this sort of sligthly under the radar type of status he has that may allow him to try different roles or take on more risks. As a singer I think he's more or less a soldified/well established act, but as an actor he's really only had one drama under his belt and still considered a newbie in that arena. I don't think expectations are that high on him yet. If he does well, kudos then he may get other oppurtunities. If he doesn't well he's young enough he can try again and still be forgiven I think. Or he can always go back to singing. I wouldn't mind that at all. If I haven't said it enough before I'll say it again, I LOVE his voice biggrin.gif
caroline
Vanny, thanks so much for the pics and video ^^ Seunggi looking GOOD smile.gif

hello all i've posted a few times in the LSG thread but i've never really "participate" in any of the conversation..so regarding his career i think he isn't being safe or what not i just think he chooses to do things that are comfortable to him..as a singer i think he is extremely popular among the old and the young...he doesn't "put" himself out there like other artistes because he's a private person and i think he doesn't want to air his life out there just because he's an artist and he feels like he own his fans anything..i like the fact that i don't know much about his personal life because that's who he is and that's an attraction all in itself..maybe he's scare to branch out and try new things but he is STILL YOUNG he has a LONG and BRIGHT future ahead of him so he has plenty of time and room to make mistakes...

anywho, can't wait for the drama to air..he looks so damn sexy in the preview and i like the arrogant, cocky side to him =)

Really loved what you said. Simple and to the point. It's great to get another perspective on our dear boy. Please come back and join our conversations. It's what makes it fun =) And yes I do agree, he has a great future ahead of him. Just that some of us (me) are getting old and a little antsy waiting for him to show us all he's got tongue.gif .
