Thank you Pupae for continuing to feed us these pics of Seung Gi. He's really starting to look the part so I'm getting fairly anxious to see the drama. On the otherhand I think I've officially seen the single worst outfit EVER on Seung Gi. Those PANTS. OMG. Those PANTS. I have no words. I love the episode today of 1 night 2 days where the casts brought their non-showbiz friends and joined them in their trip..LSG's friend is really funny, he's talkative and I guess he revealed some things about LSG..

So cute and this was the 1st time i saw seung gi being so insecure in the show.

Seungki's friend was really funny. I think he said Seungki, in school, was the kind of unlucky/despicable (jesu obsuh) kid, that's when Seungki said 'You just go home!' . The friend elaborated that was cause Seungki was smart, he was popular, he was everything, so it was annoying I guess. Then he called Seungki brat? 'Tell good things, you brat.' or something like that and Seungki got mad cause he wasn't supposed to say that on air .

I must say, it was really fun to see Seungki interracting with someone his age so he doesn't have to be very polite and formal. His friend was funny.

awwi can't wait to see the show where he brings his friend..on the show he never really talks about his friends or anything so it's a good thing he still has some friends from high school..the count down is on til the drama airs...

SeungGi-oppa was charming as always on YSMM tonight. But those pants were even more OMG seeing them move around --- they were like some alien creature attached to the bottom half of our beloved LSG!!!

Lucy, rgrclms22 is right. Song is Go Baek, Confession, from his first remake album 남자가 여자를 사랑할 때. 7th track.

EDIT: Ok, I realised maybe the title is a little confusing. There's a very slight, subtle difference between the two titles, but in essence, both Go Baek and Go Hae (which are two different songs) translate to Confession. The title Go Baek 고백 (告白) here means confession. If you know chinese, its easier to understand. Its kind of like confessing to the girl you like, even though this word can be used for like, confession to crimes and stuff. The other title Go Hae 고해 (告解), translated into english is also confession, but its in a different sense, kind of like when you go to church and confess to a pastor/priest, that kind of confession. I suppose these two words have chinese origins, since the dictionary I use provides the chinese equivalents.

doraezzz - He was asked if he was ever deeply in love and he said that he had it bad for this older girl but couldn't do anything about it because she had a boyfriend. We heard that before... I'll try to get to summarizing more tonight.

Anyhoo - I was REALLY tired last night because I was translating something for someone before getting to summarizing YSMM. I only got to about the first half - and the summary isn't as tight as I'd like for it to be because I really wanted to go to bed... Anyway, here's some of the stuff:

SOME CONTEXT:

The topic or theme of the episode was IMAGE - what kind of image you project, what you've done to garner that image, how important it is to protect it, etc. The most prominent guests that made for such an entertaining episode was Lee Seung Gi, who has an impeccable and untarnished image --- juxtaposed next to --- Boom, who, while a MC on many shows, has a "SAHN-TEE" image, which is Korean for, "has a cheap feel" or "not of high quality" (however, to his credit, no one embraces that sense and feeling more and makes it work for him than Boom).

HIGHLIGHTS:

Im Chang Jung (actor/singer) let it be known that it's 12:30am and that they've been waiting 2-3 hours to start taping and while complaining, LSG immediately apologizes --- turns out they were waiting for him to finish shooting his drama that day. This moment made me call back to the beginning of the Guerrilla Concert episode when LSG said that one (KHD) has to be pretty important to keep the production crew waiting for 40 minutes... Well how about someone that keeps everyone waiting for two to three hours!?? HAHA. Ah Prince Seung Gi...

Anyway, KHD gets the topic started immediately by saying that without needing any explanation, we all know that Lee Seung Gi's image is akin to nobility. (He says this all professional haha - I know he just wanted to shout out SeungGiYAHHH!!!).
MCM - For the sake of creating his image, Lee Seung Gi-ssi didn't have a cell phone, and doesn't go to bars...to project the squeaky clean (of one who doesn't drink) image. And also, all his time is accounted for: piano lessons, guitar lessons, he doesn't have any free time. And I also came to find this about him - he accounts for everything else - whenever we shoot, he has (with him) wardrobes for when it's raining, and for when it's not raining, and even for when it's raining but all of a sudden starts snowing (HA!). He has something for every occasion. (Now we know why he has luggage while everyone has bags haha)
LSG - Hyung it's making me look like too much of a planner.
KHD then comes in and says, "I know you would have liked to have planned this (what MCM was talking about) beforehand..." which made LSG burst out laughing, but Boom and Park Hyun Bin were like, "what's so funny about that?" --- which was really funny because they were essentially saying, "that whole bit WAS planned!"

Boom takes his first little stab at tarnishing LSG's impeccable image (ALL in jest) and says to SeungGi, "you've got some SAHN-TEE in you too..."
LSG - What's with the sahn-tee stuff all of a sudden?!
Boom - you pick your nose when it itches right?" Do you or do you not? Tell us.
LSG - (Of course) I do...
Boom - Sahn-tee!!

They polled random people on the street and asked what kind of image the guests projected and LSG and people said, CUTE, SCHOLARLY, GOOFY, but most people said HUHDANG!
LSG's comment to that was, "I guess there really is something to that... The thought of 'Wow I really am lacking' was......something.....I never thought about myself" (meaning "I thought I'm not lacking in any way!") and laughed out loud because trying to come off cocky totally embarrassed him. This is why he's so wonderful.

LSG told this story from his X-man days where the lesson he ultimately learned was --- Have a good heart.
Then MCM all of a seudden jumped in said:
I have another thing about SeungGi (in relation to him being so conscious of his image). For example, there was an instance where Chan Ho Park invited the 1N2D members to a meal...he doesn't really partake in private gatherings (implying he's aloof. Like him not having a cell phone was also to create an air of aloofness).
LSG - It's not that. For instance I didn't have a cell phone because at that time, I really felt like I wasn't at their (other celebs) level.
IM CHANG JUNG - Did you perhaps think that you were above them?
(Everyone cracks up)
Then all of a sudden, LSG says, (addressing more KHD and LSG) - "Since you know me well, is there anything you'd like to ask about how I'm really not like or anything like that?"
This threw everyone for a loop, and Yoon Jong Shin had the funniest line by saying, "Is this a Fan Meeting??"
LSG laughing says - I'll allow some time for questions.
KHD gets up and with his overacting facial gestures sarcastically goes - Is this coming from your kind heart!? Is he doing this because he has a kind heart?!
LSG - It's a Q & A, in case anyone is interested.
KHD - Are you going to be like, "I'll take your questions..." (He made this funny 'pretending to be snobby' face while saying this I loved it!).
Im Chang Jung goes, "I'll get up and leave now" --- joking (or maybe not joking) that he doesn't have any questions for LSG.

SUBJECT CHANGES almost immediately as Yoon Jong Shin asks:
When were you truly mad while shooting 1N2D (that made you completely forget about your KIND image). Give us two examples.
LSG - There aren't two but ONE (CLEAR moment)!
Everyone's like "When when when" while two big exclamation marks go up in front of KHD haha.
KHD - Because of a member?
LSG nods his head yes.
Yoon Jong Shin - Who what when where?
LSG touches KHD's arm and says - It's because of someone here.
Boom - Just point at him and say YOU! YOU! (This if funny because of course is this the Sahn-tee way of doing it)
LSG tells the story of him falling into the Huhdang Lee Seung Gi Pond. He said how KHD, who will draw from a funny well until it runs completely dry, kept telling him to go into the pond again when cracks were everywhere...and worse, KHD kept saying to believe him (LSG said, "as if he was Moses!"). LSG also said, "The thing about HoDong hyung is that he has such charisma that if he keeps telling you to believe him, you end up believing him (I love the little spray of love from LSG to KHD hehe).
Long story short, LSG screamed out "Dangshin Moya!" which wasn't very prim and proper. And then they show the awesome clip!
LSG - Five years of hard work cultivating a kind image went out the window at that moment.
The Female MC - If you really didn't care about your image, how would you have really reacted?
LSG - I would have grabbed him by the collar/throat!!

Sarangaia is right. Both words mean confession, be it in Korean or Chinese. Go-baek is confessing in the sense of owning up/admitting to something … feelings/thoughts etc, while Go-hae is more like confessing to wrongdoings. Hence the lyrics of Go Baek is directed at a loved one, while that of Go Hae’s is asking God for forgiveness for the love he dares to love.

Eequeezee, you made my day too! Thanks for the quick synopsis and translations. I was so excited to see him on YSMM with Ho Dong. I remember the last time he went on back in 2007 he came on with the funniest stories. The topic really did suit him to a tee though. The perfect example of what image is. I think it's the first time I've really come to realize how much emphasis and care he really does put into cultivating this image. I had always thought it was more of a topic for others to make fun of him with, but from what Mong says, it seems Seung Gi himself really takes pride in keeping up with this image and taking careful steps not to tarnish it. Not to say that he's calculating his every move and word to match his image, but you do get a sense from his story and Mong's words, a good amount of consideration is put into how he speaks, waht he does and even what he doesn't do. And you also can see what a meticulous person Seung Gi really is. An outfit for every occasion? You have to see it to believe it, and by golly we have! For me I think one of the cutest parts of the show whas the interaction he had with Ho Dong. Just seeing how comfortable they are together, the way Seung gi automatically looks for and addresses Ho Dong first, and seeing how giddy and happy Ho Dong is to have Seung Gi on his show is just super cute =). Almost cute enough for me to overlook those "pants". You are so right, they are worse in action.

As for the drama, I'm really getting excited now that we see the prescon. HHJ and Seung Gi actually look really good together. They give off a good vibe and match well in terms of looks, age, and something about the cultured feel they both give off. The clothes look good, although I do have ask, can those skirts get any shorter? Seung Gi's suit finally looks fitted, but is it just me or does he look super skinny in it? He must of really slimmed down and lost some muscle mass too cause his pants look quite a bit loose. Hopefully the drama and filming 1n2d won't put too much stress on him so that he loses more weight. He's just fine as he is, don't get any skinnier please!

I actually really like this about Seungki. He doesn't pretend like he doesn't take good care of his image. He cares about his image and he's honest about it. A lot of celebs are pretty hypocritical about this issue, saying they don't care about what the public say about them, but in the end actually keeping up a face anyway. So it's good that Seungki acknowledges that he builds his image carefully.

I like how he looks during the Love Concert time. I hope he's getting enough rest. Otherwise, the makeup lady would have to put extra coverage for those eyebags. I like those 2 pics that you mentioned too. I gave up hope on how he dresses on 1N2D; I'm all about low expectations these days.

I'm glad that he went on 1N2D. Remember how metro he was at the beginning (1 year ago). Suncream!!! Hahaha. Now, he has a tan and we see less of the hats. He even shares personal hygiene stuffs with the boys now. Mong and his Beauty Lesson 101. Haha.

Seunggi's charm is his forwardness + his Huh-dangness. I think, at this stage in his career, he still is allowed some (a little) freedom in expressing his thoughts. It may be due to the fact that he is not considered a mainstream idol yet. It also helps that he is with HoDong and MCM and on YSMM, so he opens up a bit more. I don't know whether it is because he is more comfortable in the variety show format, going back to his Xman years. This is the perfectionist LSGi that some of us here knew, different than what you see on 1N2D. Some people may associate him with that Seunggi only. There is no doubt that his image is cultured and his public statements are sometimes prepped. It's too bad that the YT videos are gone but did you happen to see the YDH Radio appearance last year by LSGi-subbed by yonnie? This is when he confessed to having "enjoyed" watching adult-themed movies. You'd be surprised how candid he is. I know the MU links if you are interested. I think as he becomes comfortable with his popularity, he has become more witty. He's better as he ages and matures.

Completely agree. He is getting better and better as he ages and more charming too. Maybe it's the obvious projection of confidence he has now. Ooh, I'd really love that. I haven't seen much of his variety appearances outside of the common ones such as XMan, Love Letter, and that YSMM he was in a couple of years ago and of course 1N2D. Any links are totally welcomed with wide open arms

I actually remember that he was quite daring even early on (haha, as expected from two-time student body president), during his appearances in X-Man. He was able to stand out with his own brand of wit and charm. I liked that he wasn't overly shy and stuff like most newbie then. His appearances tend to be hugely entertaining.

Boom tells the MCs and guests that his SAHN-TEE-ness, is actually FUN and delicious, and that is NOT easy to achieve. He performs it and we hear LSG say that it doesn't have a cheap feel at all.

Anyway, I realize that I get way too nervous on days before school.
Recently I started grad school and on the first day, I had this book. If it said Global Finance in Korean I wouldn't care, but it said Global Finance (IN ENGLISH), so to show off the (English) letters, I carried my book like this. And if the letters were on the top part of the cover it would be fine but since they were more toward the middle, my hand kept moving down like this. (HA!!! Too funny! IMAGE CONSCIOUS INDEED!)
But what I feel the MOST IMPORTANT thing is: If you're an entertainer, at school, no matter what, you can never come off like you're in a rush or hurry and run or anything like that (haha he HAS to be cool at all times!!!). No matter what, please believe me when I say this.

LSG - There has never been an instance where I ran at school but...
He goes on to say how when having to go a long distance in a really short amount of time, he runs in a really cool way (along with making sure that he's in the midst of a crowd of other students so he won't stand out) and does a little re-enactment. He stresses that you (an entertainer in school) must never show that you're exerting effort when running.

Boom talks about how he has to always be mindful of his image as well. For instance, when he's out and about and people go, "Look there's Boom! Hi Boom!" he has to give them a little something as a fan-service --- sprinkle a little bit of Sahn-tee their way if you will --- so that they won't go away feeling like Boom's not as fun as he is on TV. So he gives them stuff like his little butt-wave haha.
KHD of course immediately gets LSG to do it haha. After LSG does his butt-wave, he falls to the ground again, because his image that he has cultivated over 5 years is again, crumbling down!!
LSG - I'll REALLY be right back I NEED to make a quick call (to my company president).
KHD - It was fun you're gonna come off well ~~~ (Love his tone here it's like, "Don't worry~~~)

LSG then reveals something that he does with respect to his image. This is something he has never done on TV. He tells MCM and KHD that they probably have never seen him do this before:
When he's eating a bowl of soup, he will never lift the bowl and eat the soup off the bowl --- he'll always use a spoon. And also, he'll never scoop rice into soup and mix it.
YOON JONG SHIN - Why???
LSG - I've come to think that - not scooping rice and mixing it into the soup - makes you look more classy.
IM CHANG JUNG - How do you live so uncomfortably like that?
LSG - The thing is I ONLY do that when I'm at school! (Uh...but you just said you've never done that on TV too....)

LSG then was asked if he was ever deeply in love and he revealed that when he was in his 1st year of college. MCM was like, "This is the first time I'm hearing of this!" and KHD goes, "Who are we to you?!" Haha. Then LSG clarified that this was a BIG CRUSH as opposed to an actual love affair. She was older and nothing ever happened because she had a boyfriend...
The Female MC asked what made him like her so much and he said, "She was confident, like Boom..." HA!!! What a Huhdang thing to say!!!
Boom tells her to say something to her so LSG says "I hope you're doing well." (This little part was kind of lame imho).
