you know something I realised? With nicknames, if the person's name is long to begin with, the nickname usually shortens it. But if it was short to begin with, it's usually lengthened. e.g. Shinya becomes Shin, but Die becomes DaiDai, or Die-chan. What's up with that?

AoiXUruha, lashings of angst, and one-sided RukixUruha luuuurve. Warning, this plot relies on the hinted information given and then takes it spectacularly too far. Also there is lots of S&M. Because every hot Japanese person secretly loves hardcore S&M. And Ruki will probably cry a lot at some point in this fic. So will Kai. We dont know where Reita went, but wherever he is, he's having sex.

But yeah, Ruki dear, that's the pot calling the kettle a whore. You lick Uruha's guitar, you slap Reita about, molest him too, you basically screw the microphone, you hip-thrust. It's kinda mild compared to your antics. Especially since, I doubt it was like that Fatima kiss. Probably very quick because the bands who have the most talent are no fun when it comes to fanservice.

ruki will be in the practise room grinding reita to vent his anger, and accidentally press the "speaker" button. kai will overhear everything and cry his heart out. who kai likes is still a mystery. aoi and uru...

Haha, well, I think that's a little unfair. He probably wont do it again now that Ruki has laid down the law Didnt someone say Uru felt like he had to show his thighs? But he probably doesnt really want to. I think it's easy to get paranoid about what the fans think.

Aoi said on Road to Nameless Liberty, fans wrote to him asking why he seemed so mad during lives. And he thought, it's natural to be mad during lives, right? But he tried calming down and then they still wrote in and asked why he was mad during a particular song. He said that made him want to say "oh what the hell" and just do what he wants. I think there is a lot of pressure felt. Why do you think virtually every new Jrock band wears VK, and does fanservice? They need to get the attention so people can then appreciate them for their talents. But then it's hard to know when it's okay to finally stop and be yourself.

Not everyone here belongs to the Diru fandom, but if you know what happened to their fanbase around the Vulgar era you can understand this sort of thing.

yeah, pity not all fans can just love them for who they are. If they're writing to them about pointless things like how they act in a certain song...what kind of mail must Ruki-sama get? The onstage performance is just that - a performance. But in a performance there can be real emotions. It's all a whirlwind. People shouldnt care what they do onstage, the music is the most important thing. If I just wanted pretty boys in short shorts I would choose any band. Not Diru and Gaze - bands with substance and raw emotion. I can get as miserable as I want about Kyo and Ruki crying in certain songs, but its not like we control them, right? Who are we to write to them and ask them to cut out their personalities and emotions?

When girls scream, and hurt eachother to get to the front, and grab at the band members - it's all done in the heat of the moment. The hysteria, atmosphere, euphoria...whatever you want to call it. The bands dont send out letters to them and say "um, yeah...it's nice that you love us. But can you not try to grope my area and proclaim that you want my babies? Thanks." What would be the point? The band and the fans are completely separate from eachother, and fans shouldnt request anything from the band. They chose to listen to them, but they are free human beings. Not Barbie dolls you can play with. They are there to make music unique to their personalities - not feed wet fangirl dreams - and express themselves. That is what separates "professions" like art and music from the others. It cant be properly taught, you cant learn it, and you cant control it. You can love a band all your life but they are guaranteed to do AT LEAST one thing you wont agree with. I will happily admit that - love Kyo as I do - he can be a downright disagreeable meanie (and that is putting it lightly)

It surprises me after all this time how much people still want to manipulate their favourite bands. That's why it's such a risky business, because bands that dont want to join pop factories want to be themselves. Blood, sweat and tears. And people cant accept that. And it proves not even fans can accept it. A lot of them still seem to hope that buying every CD they ever punched out, going to as many concerts as they can, and making cupcakes for them that are iced with their name for their birthdays means they gain special ownership to the members of the band. That they can begin to say "yeah, what you've been doing is nice and all, but can we have some more of this?" You're not a member of the damn band, sweetheart. A good fan is one who doesnt expect anything back, because they admire the people, and the intention of the band. Not one who wants to print their name under the staff list on the next DVD. You can love the band all you want, but you will never own them.
