I haven't listened to any Korean music in a while but can anyone recommend any Korean hip-hop/rap artists? And I mean actual hip-hop artist like Drunken Tiger not artists like jinusean or pop artists that sing fast.

I really bothers me how people say Epik High "use to be cool" but now they're too mainstream. If the reason you don't like them now is because all the sudden they're popular, then that's just stupid.

And then if you want to say "oh well their music changed", that's also not true. Yes, their singles are a bit fast and have a little bit of pop flavor in them, but if you listen to the other tracks on the Swan Songs album, they're really just as god as their older albums, if not better.

Anyhow, I really recommend Epik High. Powerful lyrics and hard beats.

^i find the non-single songs to be worse...i don't even mind the singles that much. hell, i like them even if they don't sound anything like their 1st album.

Try Seo Taiji & Boys album I, II, and III.

you def. have to listen to T(tasha) as of right now, even though she isnt doing anything.., she is the #1 femcee in korea

from drunken tiger, their first album is legend to me :] the themes are repetitive, but it's just SO SO good. "do you know hiphop" and "i want you" are just so addicting to listen to xD and from their boolee album.. it might be their fourth but i'm not sure-- the song bulee (foundation) is VERYVERYVERY good >D actually, the whole album is really good. ahhaha. but that song is just awesome. <3 i really liked djshine and tiger jk together.. i didn't really enjoy the 6th album as much.. >o<;;

tasha-- la musique is a good song :] some of her songs are ballads, though.. but they're still good! "one day" is a pretty good ballad song. she's got a strong voice.

from epik high, the 3rd album, excluding "fly" cause it sounds so.. pop-ish-ish to me, is SO SO GOOOOOD. and from their first album.. the tablo solo.. i think it was called "lesson 1"? oh, something like that xD haha anyways that's a good song, too.

mc sniper, gloomy sunday and bk love :] they're old, but nevertheless good. hahahha.

and some of jinusean's older stuff wasn't too bad :[ "gasoline" was pretty good.. but now they're style got different...

I think LeeSsang is the best thing Korea has to offer in all genres. They balance radio songs with more serious stuff very well.

Maybe if they started using illiterate netspeak in the rhymes would they be down with the "true" Epik High fans like yourself.
Would you prefer if they kept to one style and didn't evolve as artists just so they could please the people who happened to like them the first time around?

We do deserve better from Epik High. They have only released three quality albums that have consistently evolved and gotten better. We Korean Hip-Hop fans shouldnt have to put up with this?!?!?
