And the awesome part is that he's awesomely nice. I was afraid that he would be like those stars who happen to have "bad' days, but he's so sweet. Even though he had just gotten off the plane for his music video shoot at LOs Angeles, he was still extremely sweet to his fans. And the fans that met him in Australia all chatted with him for around 30 or so minutes in the airport. He's so real and down to earth.

So one day I got bored and I decided to google up his little brother's name and I found his little brother's named listed at all these sites. It's kind of scary. That whole family is crazy smart.

There are so many ABCS around where I live who totally dislike anything asian they automatically assume you are a FOB if you listen to Chinese songs. I think some people have this superiority complex. They have this image of China as this traditional rural place, and if you listen to asian music they think your automatically not updated with the "current" trend. I don't know, I mean I personally find lyrics to alot of chinese songs alot more intrigueing than 50 Cent and his escapades at the Candy Shop.




He had another one in New York like last month, but it was a joint concert. My parents suprisingly let me go to his Las Vegas and I have to say, it's one of the best times I've ever had in LV.

He's an awesome role model, he followed his dreams and he still maintained his ideals and didn't drop out of school after becoming famous. He's also really down to earth even on his "bad days." YAY.



I first heard about him in a 2002 Winter GAla festival thing, but I didn't really pay attention to him because I thought he was another "f4 pretty boy." I don't know, but his long hair and stuff just gave off that impression. It was until 2004 when I heard his Unbelievable album that I realized he composed, wrote lyrics, arranged, played instrumentals, and produced his songs. I was very pleasantly surprised. And the more I foudn out about him the more perfect he got. I mean with his 1600 on his SATs, his ability to speak a trillion languages, his ability to learn so fast (he didn't speak chinese until he was 18ish), and his ability to play so many instrments. But what really keeps me in love with him is HIS PASSION FOR MUSIC. He's one of the very few artists that truely makes music because he loves music. He is an awesome writer and he always writes about his music, and it allows us listeners a deeper understanding into what he was intending and thinking when he was composing. I don't find that in many artists nowadays. Reading his pieces of writings and his interviews, and just soaking in his love for music, I just really respect him because he is a true musician. Behind teh fame and fortune, music is his passion and life. It's so touching when you hear him speak about his music because he can go on and on, and he's one the few celebrities that doesn't just publicity stunts to get famous. He concentrates on his own music. He used to keep an online journal and reading those journals just gave me so much more respect for him. I don't know if anyone else has read his writings, if you guys have then you probably know what I mean. I just respect him so much more. Ok that was a really long rant. LOL

My mom started liking Leehom alot after we met him at his music video shoot becuase she felt he was really down to earth and didnt' have an "air" about him. My mom felt he was still like a normal person, except he looked really tired, but still was extremely corteous. But she really admired his musicial abilities especially after his instrumental performances and his LIVE SINGING (omg that was heaven his voice<333) at his LV concert, she was blown away especially by his violin playing. Ok if I ever meet him, I want to ask him how did he learn chinese so fast? I lost my cantonese speaking abilities at age 10 (I've been americanized) and now I'm slowly trying to regain it. I've been taking mandarin again and can read some characters and if it's all in a paragraph: I can piece words together and know the jist of the paragraph you know? I only know conversational cantonese like him (yet he only learned it a few years ago ) and I can't understand the radio shows and the tv shows with canto in it. That's what I want to ask him haha when I meet him.

I remember reading somewhere that he feels that Americans don't appreciate Chinese music and just thinks that it's just the old style ones. I SO agree with him. Dear Friends,
Tonight, like every night, I am alone in my hotel room. For some strange reason, the routine feels overbearing right now, and homesickness squeezes my heart sore all around my chest. Although the sound of the air conditioner's fan saves me from having to listen to utter silence, the wind is slightly too cold on my naked body. I turn it off, and then notice a slight ringing in my right ear. It is the ear that held the headphone monitor as I sang at tonight's "Ming Ge Yi Shu Jie" concert in Nanning. As usual, the crowd was a crazy sea of young noises, the music was pumped full of life, my voice was strong and passionate... I love my job.

But the nights are so lonely. The memories of tonight's CCTV live concert seem to only accentuate the stillness of my bedroom now. When my writing inspiration comes to an end, then I'll turn off this bedside lamp and sleep. I have come to believe that men mature in isolation. Isolation, being along with one's thoughts can be a form of meditation and enlightenment. Perhaps one matures when he realizes that he is ultimately alone in this world, and that he must take responsibility for his own life, because no one else will.

Physically being alone speeds up this realization. Like Tom Hanks in "Castaway". I believe in building from the ground up, whether it be corporate models, orchestra scores, or interpersonal relationships. For example, one needs to learn to love himself before being able to love others. One needs to be able to live in harmony with himself before being able to live together with another person. I guess if I look at it that way, I sure am leading the life these days, becoming a secure individual.

Thinking, meditating, feeling, composing,...searching for that rhythm in my soul that will make the whole world tap their feet. Yes, I miss my friends, and loved ones, but tonight, I wouldn't trade this loneliness for anything. Thanks for listening to my thoughts tonight, friends.

I know..that's amazing from someone who barely to spoke english to writing his own lyrics? Dude I can't even write lyrics in English HAHA. After starting to like Leehom and visiting his asian fansties my chinese has improved just a teeny bit lol. but Leehom's a fast learner.. He didn't learn the piano until he was 18 hahaha that means I still have hope.



That's what I love and respect about him. He loves what he does and I can feel his passion in his works. And I love the fact that he isn't afraid to mix it even if it doesn't recieve the best response at times lol.

Today's media, which is the way the public perceives things, is becoming more and more unified. Huge multinational internet conglomerates like CNN or AOL etc, give us the news, tell us what are the best movies, recommend restaurants, and let us communicate globally with great ease. There is no doubt that media and technology has made the world smaller, but in a sense it also sways the public opinion in countless arenas. We learn what they think is important for us to know. At worst, this has lead to people not thinking for themselves, and simply following public opinion. Will different cultures eventually fuse into one? Maybe, I don't know.

However, I think as the world gets smaller it has never been more important for different people to maintain and be proud of our differences. It would be a shame if an American pop artist were to travel to Asia and find that our pop music sounds the same as theirs, just with Chinese lyrics. Remember, it is our differences that entice us to travel, and keep us curiously studying other cultures. It is these differences that add spice and mystery to our lives.





Lol I have nothing against F4, but I just don't like them as musicians. I mean I don't dislike them, but I don't bother really to listen to their music. But I do like them as actors. lol does that make sense? When I first heard Leehom I was immedietly reminded of F4, and so I was kind of afraird that he would be a mediocore singer who couldn't sing. It really shocked me when I realized how frikin smart and talented he was.

lol that's how i was with louis koo, i like his acting but not singing.


i think if you're exposed to it enough you'll start to improve...like for me i originally knew cantonese and later self-taught myself mandarin. i guess knowing cantonese already helped me learn faster since they are similar. i just watched a lot of videos in mandarin and then also started to try to translate chinese articles, which helped me read subtitles. so if i didn't understand something i'd look down at the subtitles and now i can understand basic mandarin pretty well, as well as recognize more chinese words because when you translate you see the words a lot and it sticks in your head. so if you just expose yourself more to it you'll grasp it easier.

Two obvious reasons I can think of:
1. a LOT of exposure (living in Taiwan; family)
2. he's naturally a fast learner. Some people can learn languages faster than others

hahahas, yeah u learn a language really fast if ur stuck in that environment. i know all about that...lols

Friends @ Concert



Singer Leehom Wang held a concert at Taipei's Ju Dan on the night of the 11th. Many of his celebrity friends attended. Xiao S, who still hasn't officially recovered from giving birth, was singing and dancing below the stage. In addition, other friends such as Yu Cheng Qin, Alan Luo Zhi Xiang, S.H.E, etc, were all there. Only rumored girlfriend A-mei was nowhere to be seen.

Leehom started off very traditionally, wearing a long golden traditional Chinese gown and swinging a red flag. Once the music changed and the gown was off, the familiar hip hop style returned. Dancing is rare for Leehom, therefore causing fans to scream excitedly.

Furthermore, Westlife's performance of English love songs also caused fans to go crazy. And there were also his friends within the circle like Yu Cheng Qin, who we haven't seen in a while, Alan Luo Zhi Xiang, S.H.E as well as Xiao S, who is still recovering, were all dancing with joy.
