i think for the pacific album, they were able to more evenly split the lines between people. For instance, even though alibi was a shige/koyama song, you still hear tegomasu in the bg doing bg vocals.

i wonder if any of you have looked up the lyrics to 'ai no matador' LOL.
personally i like pacific more because their songs are more mature and it really shows their growth and diversification and more like...'self-realization' of themselves as individual members of a group instead of just 'NEWS' or 'yamapi and news' (which a lot of ppl still say -0-' )


i haven't had time to watch it yet, but i already know shige=win XD but uh...i believe AS! wanted to sub it, but there is a lack of subbers at the moment. I know subpig already has it out in chinese, so i need to find that and watch it for the time being.



I do believe the last time yamapi sung lip-synced was last year in music station(2006.05.26 if i remember correctly) when he performed 'daite senorita' for the first time, he was so nervous that he messed up and dropped the mic(</////////3 it's so painful to watch x___X poor baby...he musta felt horrible :x ) and even tho he dropped it, the music kept going, so ppl could tell he was lip-syncing. otherwise it's somewhat hard to tell, but i've heard live versions of daite and most of the other songs they perform that i can tell when they're not singing live.

**however, the incident with yamapi on music station led Music Station to demand that performers on their show sing live from then on, so when NEWS goes onto music station (not sure about music fighter) they always sing live.

their concerts are obviously live, it'd be way too easy for the audience members to tell if they're not singing live
shounen club i'm not too sure about b/c i haven't seen those performances enough times, but it's probably split...some lip-synced, and some not.

Yamapi's voice is alright. I know Tegoshi+Masuda are the most well known for their voices, but in truth everyone has their own style to their voices that people find appealing in one way or another; what's most important is that they sound absolutely gorgeous singing together and in a capella <3

I saw that performance where Yamapi dropped his mic.. and i remember laughing... but that guy kept his cool and continued. I remember watching him perform with kame and kame screwed up (he tends to screw up a lot doesn't he ) and he just continued singing as if nothing's wrong

How can you guys tell if it's live or not? I find it hard to tell.. at least with dbsk, they use diff mics to differentiate (well lately anyways)

There are times when they sing live and they're pretty good, but other times when they sing it's.... just crap.
That's how you can tell. XD
Don't get me wrong, I love them and everything, but I remember during the 2005 MS live, Cherish just killed my ears. @__@

I'd... have to disagree. o.O I don't believe they can sing perfectly throughout the whole entire concert, I do believe that some parts are lipsynched and these people (somehow.. XDD) made it seem like it's "real" when it isn't. :T

LOL. I KNOW. Ai no matador has the most wicked lyrics. To be honest, it made me like the song more. At first I was like, hmm this is weird, but I started to actually listen to the lyrics and what I thought I heard sounded odd. So I looked it up, and sure enough XD
It's kind of hard to compare touch and pacific in the end really, because they're so different. (Yamapi gets too much attention sometimes. The others are just as talented, if not more -__-)

You can just tell. I mean. If it's not live it sounds EXACTLY the same as the recorded. And when it is live though, you hear even just slight differences in breathing, pitch etc. Because no one is ever perfect and I would be lame if it was the same anyway ^-^

I'm pretty sure it was lipsynched. It sounds pretty similar to the recorded version. But... I'm pretty sure why he lipsynched was because of the dance.
A pretty complicated dance routine with a nice ballad[ish] song, I'm pretty sure he'd run out of breath by the time he reached the chorus...
let alone "rap" out of breath, that's a very hard thing XDDD

Because I know in the Dec. 2nd SC, Ryo was out of breath because of his screaming XD singing in Code.
Glad to see that Change the World wasn't lipsynched, it really shows how well they've improved. Sure they may not be hitting super high notes, but hell they sound pretty damn good. XD;

Yeah, like when they were playing a game with some kanji or something? I have no idea. But it was cute how hard he was trying to get the answer and he kept getting it wrong. Also, I love that moment when he freaked Massu out with the bugs. Massu jumped, it was so funny.

I love watching Ya3 old show too!, kocho kocho time is my absolute fav and there's the cosplay part, also when they had news vs ya3/j.j.express. Ya3 game show during 2003-2004 was the best year, they had so many game and yabu was adorable back then.


I missed seeing kusano and koyama doing stupid and random thing, they always make the game fun.

Well I don't like the idea of them having to re-debut as much as the next person but I just don't know if they ever are going back to NewS. Maybe Uchi might go back to K8 but I don't know what's gonna happen with NewS.

As much as I want 8 member NEWS, I dont think johnnys would put back Uchi and Kusano to NEWS.

Especially now, seeing how extremely popular NEWS is, They are even more popular than they were when they were 8 members Last year, Everyone thought It was the end of NEWS, they were even had bad names, they had a bad image to the public people thought even though they come back next year it wouldnt be the same ever again they will eventually dive down.

But from the things now, I have to say 2007 was the best year of for the whole career of NEWS, It was year full of Hope and Happiness for All NEWS fans and for NEWS especially the Tokyo Dome concert, which is NEWS' dream ever since.

but even though we see them as 6 now, To be NEWS will always be 8, Even though Uchi and Kusano arent there, I feel that NEWS is sucess is also Uchi and Kusano's

^Yeah, I agree that 6 person NewS is a lot more popular. I'm even used to seeing only 6 members now, and new fans only get to know 6 members. It's sad but that's the entertainment industry for you. However, it doesn't mean that I still don't feel depressed every time I hear Teppen or Cherish because I do and I wonder what's gonna happen to those two.

Well NEWS as 6 people is really sucessful so I am not sure what the chances of Uchi and Kusa
coming back to NEWS will be. We just have to wait for Johnny Countdown to see what happens.

I honestly don't know what's going on with NEWS, but it seems like Uchi will be back in Kanjani8 soon, so I'm happy for that.
But I mean, they re-recorded TEPPEN (and it was awful ;_;). It's like they're trying to pretend Uchi and Kusano were never there -__- Even when I was in Japan, my friend's homestay was like, "Noo, old NEWS >:|" I like 8-member NEWS better, but I'm so used to 6 now. And that I'm used to it feels a little sad :/

That kid has got the whole package pretty much. I mean, he's definitely got an awesome shaky butt dancing skills and his singing's pretty good as well. Gahh, they can't leave him undebuted forever but I will be extremely resentful towards whatever group he ends up with that is not NewS. I miss Kusano.
