Yeah, they're really awesome and some are pretty talented for a JE band, haha. How did they remind you of Super Junior? The only reason I can think of is their sheer numbers. Although they used to be a bigger band until they lost Uchi and Kusano.

Well, I think NewS owns SuJu too, but only because I'm biased and very new to Super Junior so no SuJu fans go crazy over what we say alright?
As for news, the last thing I've heard of is that they performed weeeek on...lots of shows, appeared on SC Christmas Special and they made a pretty good comeback this year with their 'weeeek' single and Pacific album. Yay for NewS.

I'm really not used to Koyama's black hair. Every time I see him, I think it's someone else. I am getting sick of all their 'weeeek' performances anyway. I mean, the ones I've seen all suck, lol. It's a little frustrating because I know that Tegoshi and Massu can sing live but when they're around NewS it's like they get collective bad-live-performance disease as a group or something. I'd like to see an 'Ai no Matador' performance. The lyrics are so horribly filthy that I want to see if they can perform this with a straight face; I know I couldn't.

I'm a pretty big fan of both of them, and i think it's pretty stupid to compare the two of them. They're both marketed differently, they're in different companies and different countries for goodness sakes.
Song-wise I think Super Junior gets better songs(but I think NEWS gets the crappiest songs in all of JE...I mean i grow to love all their songs, but overall, they get less good songs[like the impression i get when i first hear it] ) and has better choreography, but I think Super Junior has better choreography than pretty much all of the JE groups(not talking about on an individual basis or who dances better) because that's just how they're marketed.
In a lot of other things, such as close-ness, I think Super Junior is closer, but suju also lives together(split into 3 dorms in the company building) whereas NEWS lives with their families. Again, it's not NEWS's fault; it's just the way things are set up.
They both have their cute moments, they both do fanservice.
They both have a lot of screaming fangirls.
They both are under entertainment companies that like to squeeze the money outta our pockets.
I don't love either one more or less. I could say I love them the same, but it's really depending on what aspect of each group you're talking about, and which group I decided to pay more attention to this week(or something). At the moment I'm all about NEWS, but next month I could be all over Suju again.
And let's not go HOMG HOW COULD U SAY THAT....because the person just said they were reminded of Suju from the Weeeek PV. I can see a little of where they're coming from...just the energy and crackiness (like maybe suju's happiness pv and rokkugo mixed into one XD )

And this is just me as a greedy greedy fan, but NEWS needs more singles. On the one hand, I'm always worrying about their health, and hoping that the concerts don't wear them out too much, but this is what they signed up for, and they love doing it, so I try to think of that.
But back on the thing about singles. NEWS has been around for a while. Not counting the whole hiatus time period, they've been around for three years. (I'm counting their official debut as the day they released Kibou May 2004 until May 2006, when it was official that they were on hiatus. And then counting all of 2007
) And they have....eight singles and two albums.KAT-TUN(i have no hate for the group, just using them as comparison, since they're the same age-ish) on the other hand, will have been around for two years-ish(counting debut as March 2006, when first single was released) when their latest single, LIPS, releases. And that would be their sixth single.
I dunno. NEWS also is the only group that doesn't have their own TV Show. I think a lot more people would be exposed to them if they had their own tv show. A lot of the time, I feel like NEWS is a little...ignored by the company. But that's just me. (I also feel T&T are rather ignored too, but that's just me)
But here's hoping to a GREAT 2008 with more member ai, crack, flashy dead animal costumes(...not really tho.), and hopefully...*crosses fingers* DVDS FOR TAIWAN CON, WINTER CON, AND DOME CON

then the third one was SHIGEAKI KATO..he didn't do anything special tho...just looked at it and smile then walked pass...lol
the forth one was TEGOSHI YUYA
He is soooooooo freakin cute in real life! he saw the sign and smile and made the peace sign. this kid sing really well too!

And yes, NewS is likeable. They're so damn upbeat and happy and their PV's so ridiculously cheap. I like to think they're something like the antithesis of KAT-TUN.

Solo activities meaning they will be concentrating in acting first, Uchi said he wanted to started slowly, and that is probably what Johnnys want to do.
Kusano will be coming back too in the coming days, Johnnys is still preparing for his solo activities but currenly is busy with college

I'm one of those fans who don't want 8 back either. Judging by the poll in the lj comm tho, it's pretty evenly split. A little sad that the fandom is so split, but I stand firm in my decision.
It's not that they were 'gone too long' or 'fans got comfortable' for me tho. For me it's a little something like this:

I got into NEWS more or less after the hiatus, but I've watched old shows and I've seen Uchi and Kusano, and I just...can't stand Kusano. Uchi not so much, but the fact that it was so ridiculously Ryo/Uchi gets on my nerves.
Before, they were really just "that giant group of eight people." I mean, such a large group was pretty ridiculous when they debuted(altho i have nothing against large groups. I love SuJu after all ). And no matter how much you want to love all of them, let's face it. they don't get enough screentime individually. In the beginning, it was all pi, ryo, uchi, and kusano. Ryo and Uchi were so married, yamapi had his looks, kusano had his dancing/voice and shige, koyama, tegoshi and massu were shoved into the bg.
Honestly, I'd like to know. Who would have discovered tegoshi's beautiful voice if kusano hadn't left?
Where would the KoyaShige have come from if Kusano wasn't gone?(ah it sounds like i'm hating on kusano only XD )
Would Ryo have really become close to all the members and pi especially if uchi had been there?
Uchi can go back to K8. As far as I see it, he is really actually missing from the group. There is something they can't be without him.
But NEWS really became a family in 2007. They're not so much 'that group that came together for the volleyball thing and was then kept cuz the fans liked them' But NEWS, a family of six that just happenes not to be blood-related. Their group dynamic is so different, so actually there instead of before.
Yamapi made such an effort this year to really get to know everyone, and go out with everyone, and even Ryo is going out with Shige, whereas before I don't think Ryo really cared all that much.
KoyaShiTegoMassu (why yes that is a word XD ) have really come into themselves. They've found themselves as a Johnny and as a member of NEWS. I don't want them pushed into the background again, but if KusaUchi return. They will be.
I can't say this enough. NEWS just grew SO MUCH as a group and with fans...I mean it was 2007 that NEWS had so much popularity that they had to get Dome Cons to satisfy fans. I don't understand why Johnny-san would mess with this wonderfulness.
If Johnny-san has no intention of letting him(Uchi) back into NEWS(as with the solo thing....I figure he meant he'll be doing things, but like Toma, and not really with a group. )Uchi and Kusano, no matter how they've changed cannot go solo. I don't even feel Yamapi has the willpower, courage, and abilities he needs to go solo. He needs someone to depend on, because the 'golden boy' of JE who knows just how to smile and just how to glare sexily, and just how to appeal to the fans just the right way because that is how he grew up(this image of yamapi all just for show has been stuck in my mind forever. It's going to be part of a fanfic i've been planning out) needs someone to tell him stop. it's okay. you don't need to pretend anymore.
and honestly...yamapi's pretty boring by himself. XD
and I think i'm way off topic. but yea. conclusion to my essay! XD
I hate to be blunt. But neither Uchi nor Kusano belong in NEWS. If asked about before, I would say none of them, any of the eight members 'belonged' in NEWS. NEWS was just a name, not a group, not a family.
Now they are, and that family does not include Kusano or Uchi. Period.
I'm sad that the fandom is split like this, but in Japan where these sorts of things are taken so much more seriously than, for instance, the US (lindsay lohan would be kicked out of her business for all the crap she's been causing) I think in some people's eyes, letting them back into the group(because for some reason the drinking incident doesn't seem to affect k8...i feel like when people think of uchi+drinking they think news...not k8),even when they have been punished for it, is still not enough. Just look at the uproar Sawajiri Erika caused at the 'closed note' promotion because she was feeling a little pissy.
