NEWS New Year's Holidays concerts in Tokyo Dome

It's been officially announced that NewS will have their New Year's Holidays concerts at Tokyo Dome.
The concert tour will start from Oct 25th (in Sendai), and end in next year Jan 12th (in Osaka).
and as a part of this tour, from Dec 30th through Jan 1st, they'll have concerts at Tokyo Dome.
Having the concert at the place, Kinki Kids has occupied there for ten years, however, their 10 years anniversary will be located in Osaka, Kyosera-dome, for this year, and NewS has been chosen to take the position this time.
Their new song "Happy Birthday" will be out on Oct 1st.
At the New Year's Eve, Johnny's countdown concert will be located at the dome, after NewS's concert.

haha i dunno if it's just me, but somehow i'm not too excited about this? I've been partially disappointed with half the singles this year, and I did not order Happy Birthday because I really don't like it. And I dunno? Haha I wasn't surprised by these events because it seems like that's the 'way things go': single, single, single, album, con tour at the end of the year.

^ well I guess that's how they have to do things, since they can't like suddenly have concerts in the summer~ (Well I think K8 usually has concerts in the summer, and so they have like, share Ryo, you know? XD) so I think that's why their schedule is always the same~

it was spelled as NewS before when they debut because NewS represents the NORTH, EAST, WEST, SOUTH so just how it is the arrangement to state N and S are North and South. but now they use NEWS.

Happy Birthday is cute, but I noticed that after weeeek, most of their singles just went downhill. I hope they do another single with the charm of Cherish or Hoshi wo Mezamini coopere. the PV - low budget too. How come they rarely do location filmings unlike other JE bands, most of their PVs are merely set in a bunch of studios. It'd be nice if they have another PV as cool as Teppen.

I'm starting to miss Kusano though. It is only now that I appreciated his voice. It's so manly, and less nasal than the other members so it kind balances everything out. Not to mention he was such a mean dancer.

I hope they get to bond more and get a TV show for themselves. I know how people say that NEWS is sooo boring, but I would like to think that it is due to the fact that while they had overcome the animosity they used to go have for each other, they're still not as close as we'd like to think. Which is probably why Kei-chan said that they still have a hard time in starting conversations with each other because it gets all awkward. If they do get their own tv show, then they would get all the practice they could get. And from the history of other JE bands, it seems that most of them just sealed their tight bond hafter hosting their own shows and spending a lot of time with each other.

we dont really know. first of all NEWS isnt like all the Johnnys groups, their a unit that came from different units. and I think with their personality their not the type like to force themselves with each other especially Yamapi. but I have to say they improve their relations with each other, you can see that with the DVDs.

I think NEWS can handle their own TV show if Johnnys gives them a chance, i wouldnt say boring because if they were boring then their MCs wouldnt be entertaining, ive been a fan since 2005 and have seen and read all their MCs and i dont think any of them were dull. KoyaShige would be great hosts, i think August Shokura was hosted very well, it was one of the best SHOKURA episodes.

if NEWS is boring what do you call KATTUN's show but thats your opinion, for me i dont like forced and trying hard humour.

If you try to delve into my post, I wasn't bashing NEWS. I was just stating what fans
were saying at the LJ cons and I do think I've subtly expressed my disagreement with them.

About the bonding, I was pointing out to the kind of bonding where they'd actually be a little more fun.
The senpai-kohai relationship gets a little to stiff at times considering the they've been a band longer than
say, DBSK.

I think NEWS are a lot closer now. Yamapi recently blogged about going to eat with Koyama and how Shige's face makes him smile, Shige said that he went to eat with Yamapi and Ryo, Yamapi took Shige out on his birthday until 7am, Tegoshi went with Koyashige to Hawaii for a holiday, while Massu went with them to Nagano, Tegoshi always says that he "loves" his "kei-chan" and clings to him etc etc. They may not be BFF (apart from Koyashige and Ryopi lol) but they all seem to get on well enough
I think there's still a senpai-kouhai relationship between Tegoshi and Massu with Yamapi and Ryo BUT it's getting better I think.
It's not the same with DBSK, and I don't think it's fair to compare them. DBSK members entered and trained roughly around the same time (and even lived together for years), while Yamapi and Ryo have been in JE and have been popular for about 8 years BEFORE the other NEWS members so there's more of a gap.

I agree. I'm quite sure I mentioned about Pi treating Shige on his birthday in my earlier post. But the others, like Shige eating with Ryopi is all new to me. Member Ai ftw. K-chan must be happy.

But I wonder why Massu has a harder time thatn Shige when he's older than Shige?

Ryo doesn't go out as much because he lives in Osaka (I think, I'm not sure if he moved).

But I just watched Pi's SC Premium,
and it was quite touching how he said
that the suspension made him
feel more affection for the members.
It was quite funny when he admitted he
barely cared for them at all before (like how he'd stay at one
part of the dressing room alone listening to his mp3 secluded from
the members). At least he was very honest. K-chan's premium was
funny too, when he said they felt they didn't deserve to be in the same
room as Yamapi and Ryo. But the newfound closeness of the group feels
very...refreshing.

i never saw yamapi cry. is there a clip somewhere? i've only seen him cry once, and that was when tackey & tsubasa debuted.
i know massu cried, and koyama did as well since they both said so on shounen club... but i don't know about the rest.

Ryo belongs to two groups NEWS and Kanjani 8, he debuted to NEWS first and then Kanjani 8.

That's new info to me. I've always thought Ryo debuted with K8 first.

I <3 Ryo in news more though. I love it when he shows his wacky and mild side.
He's mostly quiet with K8 because most of his co-members are older.

OMG. I love that song. Especially the acapella opening. I'm quite surprised why none of you guys mentioned "Yawarakana Mama De" from the same album. There's no other song catchier than that. :x I might be be a litle biased though, but do give it a shot.

Speaking of Uchi, I have been wondering what might happen if Mary suddenly has a change of thought, decides time is right and puts Notti (who must be Americanized by then) and/or Uchi (after drowning in a pool of butais and TV dramas) back to NEWS. Honestly? I'm all for it. Ryo/Tegoshi just can't capture the bridge parts of songs that Notti sings when they perform those songs in concerts (think: Kibou Yell) and Uchi, the closest thing that comes to his voice is probably Koyama but seriously, no one could sing his lines in "Cherish" or "Devil or Angel" the way that here he does it. It doesn't help that I miss the psychotic tendencies and his princess syndrome as well. And Notti? Kusano-Shigeko all the way! And Massu could dance well - but nothing close to the way Notti has his grooves on. But my fandom friend had always told me that it would be a bad idea since it will make things all awkward once again, plus the fact that NEWS kind of worked hard to gain the closeness they have achieved with each other now. Adding the two must mean they have to begin from scratch once again and revamp their image. I say, if Jin could do it, why couldn't they?

their personalities okay here's what i think of them:

Ryo: he's the fierce one, he has a poison tongue, whenever he's mad the members becames scared, because he's very honest and very vocal what he thinks and he doesnt really care if you get hurt by what he says. He's also sometimes the leader for naughtiness especially when comes to teasing the members LOL Ryo loves to play the guitar i think he has around 7 guitars at home, and he writes songs too.
Yamapi: Yamapi is dorky, coolest and most respected member of NEWS well because he's the senpai of all and well the leader, but sometimes he doesnt act like a leader LOL Yamapi loves food its the most constant thing he ever mention on his jweb LOL Yamapi's also smart he studies Business Administration at Meiji University he's graduate soon too, Like ryo Yamapi also plays the guitar he wrote alot of songs including Love Song and Gomen Ne Juliet.
Koyama: Koyama is the spokesperson of NEWS, he's really good in talking so he says he's the Host of NEWS ^^;; Koyama is also dorky and um STUPID but cant you believe it he's the current holder of NEWS member who graduated college from a good college Meiji LOL
Shige: Known as The most smartest member, He's currently studying law on one of the elite schools in Japan, Aoyama Gakuin, but even though he's the smartest he's the most bullied member of NEWS LOL and its all Ryo's fault, Shige is the favorite prey of Ryo. Shige is funny but he just doesnt know it, the member say Shige is funny even if he's not trying to be funny. He's really good in writing too he has two serials in magazines and has long ass jwebs which are very entertaining. Shige also writes songs, he could play the guitar he normally sings the songs that he wrote.
Tegoshi Tegoshi is the most youngest member, the spoil brat and the self centered member (at least thats what NEWS always say LOL) next Ryo, Tegoshi is also the one who teases Shige, even tho Shige is senpai to Tegoshi and Shige is older than him by a few months. He has the best voice in NEWS, when NEWS is in the backstage he would normally harmonize to a CD LOLLL He's also smart he studies Cognitive Science Information aysfasas watever LOL in Waseda University, and he only takes it online LOL
Massu Massu is the well the big eater of the group, he's the most crybaby too, (btw koyama is a crybaby too LOL) NEWS calls him "Buta" (Pig) because Massu is fat (but he's not really fat to us but to them he is LOL) that when he eats pork NEWS says oh Massu your eating yourself LOL crybaby because oh well he cried on several concerts awwww, he has the most weird taste in fashion, so if you wonder why he wears those kind of clothes dont blame the stylists, its also because he likes wearing those kind of stuffs LOL

Eh? I totally that it was Ryo who sang first, XD I thought it sounded a bit too high for Ryo... (But I found in him later in the song He sings third, right? And sings the chorus the second time?)

Whoa, Tegoshi's perf at the pacific tour was... O.O I really like his voice! But I think I still prefer Xiah Junsu's voice ^^;; <--- long time fan, forgive the bias, XD The perf was really powerful, though

To add to what you said, whilst he is such a crybaby, Massu smiles most in the group. It is said that during the filming of Gachibaka, he was friends with everyone, from the cast to the crew and since he smiles a lot, people aren't scared to approach him. He has a tendency to create "awkward atmospheres" though. *lol* He's also lame in joking with only him finding the things he says funny. If you try watching the making of PVs, he also likes to talk to himself - Massu also has a VERY WEIRD (yet adorable) laugh.

With Tegoshi, don't let that cherubic face fool ya. He's known to be a bigtime S. (yes, he's happy inflicting pain upon others) Lately, Shige says he's also beginning to be an M (laughing when he got injured). *lol* During Gachibaka filming, he admitted to having a superstar vibe because he feels like it. Tegoshi HATES losing/failing to others. He also has a fascination with Caucasian women. He may not be as brusque as Pi but Tego is one of the most athletic members of NEWS. He also has a wide vocal range.
