Anyways, I'm really digging the Hmong Thailand band "Xob Dub." They're a rock group but their songs are exceptional.

Well, I really liked Sudden Rush and Like'Wise bands. This year, there are so many good CDs released. I bought a bunch, so here are a some to share:
1. Leng Vue ft other bands (Hmong America)-
2. Tsis K (hmong rap) - - there are some tracks that are very touching.
3. Muaj Kub Yaj vol4 - - not sure how original his songs are, but his voice is good.

The reason why I don't really listen to hmoob music is because it's always in english... I want to listen to some really good modern hmong music and it's so hard to find it out there now days... but I recently found that lots of Thailand hmoob peeps are coming up and their music are growing onto me...

Even the rapping... why can't they rap in hmoob... why do they have to rap in english all the time... we have too many of that at the store...

If some of you have some good hmoob music... please do share it with the rest of us.

Come on...not all Hmong singers sing or rap in English. I post a link above, Tsis K, he does not rap in English. He's pretty good. Some of them are meaningful. Hmong Thail or Lao singers don't sing in English. You could listen to them.

If you have not heard SuddenRush, please try them. She has such a nice voice, and her songs are in Hmong.
HIV (Hlub Ib Vuag) from USA, they sing in Hmong
Leng Vue + others + The Crystal - sing in Hmong. I personally like them better than Destiny or the Sounders or even Paradise.

There are tons of Hmong singers out there who don't sing in English.
Try to listen to Hmong singers from other countries.

Lucky 4 is a band from Thailand. They rock. Their songs are al in Hmong.
Qav Kaws - I believe also from thailand, they are good too
Nou Thao - has some nice stuff too
WISH - i like them

Tsis K is very good. I like his song "Kuv niam" It's so sad. Yeah not all Hmong singers rap and sing in English.

And does anyone here live in MN, and if you do did anyone go to the Hmong art Festival. There were a lot new artist there.

hmong music is improving so fast and so much as time goes by. even the cd covers look better now! lol.
the new singers coming out are really original and creative with their words...and more and more hmong singers are singing in Hmong.

LOL My brother has KLS's new album that came out during the MN Tournament and the cover was so cool. I'll take pictures later.

I also love The Kong and Shu Project - 1975. It's such a wonderful song and meaningful too.

Yes, Sudden Rush is a Hmong band, from Canada. I haven't heard the English version but was told that it was not good compare to the Hmong version. I think a lot of people like the Hmong version because of the lyrics.

I think I like Mi Nraug Hmoob better than Mi Noog. Lyrics wise, Mi Noog is better.

yeah, the english version, when i first heard it, i thought it was lame. It's okay, now that i listen to it a couple times. Her voice is still great. love the girl singer's voice. but yes, the hmong lyrics are still better than the english. it sounds better too.

I just bought Proto-J's second album at the Fresno HNY and its hecka good. He's improving so quickly. I wish to see him produce a hmong language album some day. It would interesting since he already does so well with english R&B, hip hop, and acoustic.

And I also came across KLS. lol. Their new concept is somewhat interesting. But I'm more intrigued by their new music genre/style. I think its good that they've become more urban/modern.

I just recently discovered him through Hmong Music Industry on myspace. He's got to be to pimpest and flyest Hmong singer ever. Seriously. The man's got style. lol. He's more underground so not that many Hmong listeners know him yet. He's a R&B singer. I think his tracks are pretty clean, nice beats. He has a well developed voice too and that makes it even better.

Okay, so, I did say that I WOULD check out Proto-J out...but actually forgotten about it until now. >.<
Today, my sis was putting on the song, Closer To You by PROTO-J. I actually thought it was an american guy singing! but it wasn't!!! I was sooo surprise! His voice sounds very nice and you wouldn't even know it was a hmong singer! Wow!
I'm so proud of the guy~ LOL. dunno him but his voice is very nice.
and my sis put on the youtube clip where he and a girl name Yami Lee was doing a cover on Halo by Beyonce (i think) and wow...that girl ain't bad either!

I never heard Hmong language before. In Europe there are no Hmong unlike in America where are many I guess. Nice language for music. It sounds a bit like Korean. Maybe it is just me who thinks like that. lol I am Thai.

^ if you're thai, i think you should know Hmong people.
they live in northern thailand, chiang mai area.
chao kao. i think that's how it's spelled.
but in europe, i think it will be hard to distinguish them.
although, i think hmong people live in Lyon, France. no?

yea...not a lot of people know hmong people well. only in areas where a lot of us
