I am just getting into them really, I guess I have always liked them. Lots of songs have been redone of theirs. I like Yellow and Clocks. Does anyone else like them?

omg, shiver is awesome... the scientist is another favorite (i didn't think much of it until one day a humanities professor used it as an example for syncopation... then i started to love it)... i agree x&y wasn't as good, but i've been listening to 'fix you' for a year now, since they used it on the third season of the oc... *edit* my bad, i meant the second season (when caleb was drowning)

most of the songs I am into from Coldplay have been from the OC lol cool. The piano version of Yellow is so nice. I wanna learn it.

god put a smile on your face is one of my faves, along with so many others. their rush of blood to the head album is good. parachutes is good too.
X & Y isn't the best, though there are a few songs on there that i enjoy like 'square one', 'what if' and 'the hardest part'......'talk' used to be a favuorite of mine until i heard it literally EVERYWHERE and now i can't stand it. shame, how songs do that to you....

i saw them on austin city limits--that show that features alot of bands on PBS--hahahah..

they were awesome-- chris martin can't dance at all--like the rest of those alternative/rock/punk artists---no offense but have you seen them boogie--it's weird and funny---

Coldplay is amazing. Their instrumental is absolutely phenomenal. That's why they're so popular. That's also why I totally am in love with them because of their instrumental.

However, I'm not a HUGE fan of singing falsetto. And Chris Martin does that... too many times. But his voice is so unique, though. I can recognize it anywhere. Their music is unique, too. I can recognize it too.

Fix You is a good song. But I think the best one in their X&Y album was Swallowed by the Sea.

I forgot. Their lyrics are COMPLETELY amazing as well. Especially the Swallowed by the Sea lyrics. I <3 them.

I think COLDPLAY are awesome. They are one of the best band that has come out of UK. I really liked their latest album X&Y. Shame they going to have a long break from now on.

I am currently listening to their album Parachutes and I love every single song on the album. This album is so mellow and cool. I love it.

oohhh i *heart* Coldplay.... yellow got me addicted to them... but i absolutely love their style... everytime i feel mellow i just turn on some Coldplay.... though i like their old songs better

They're O.K. Nothing particularly great, but they do have catchy tunes. I find their music gets duller after repeated listening.

I can't listen to too much of them in a short time span. A lot of their songs sound similar to me, however, I do like some of their stuff. Speed of Sound rocks meh world.

They are my favorite band, THE SCIENTIST, WARNING SIGN, AND FIX YOU ARE AT THE TOP OF MY LIST. In my opinion they can do no wrong, and keep getting better and better!!!

Why did it take me so long to find this thread?! Rush Of Blood To The Head is in my top 5 albums of all time.. I just love it. My fav songs are probably Talk, How You See The World, Politik, and after seeing them in concert Square One made it to the top.. Anyone else been to a show? They're concerts are effin' brilliant!

ive always liked coldplay..apart from i didnt like x&y that much..dunno...they all ounded pretty similar.
but ive seen them live before. they are inspirational~

I feel like they totally overdid the whole stadium-sound rock ballad sound on their latest album. It, plus their rising fame, unfortunately turned off a lot of fans. Martin's stage antics can get annoying, too, I feel.

Still, they've got some great songs. See:

"Don't Panic," "Spies," and "Trouble" on Parachutes.
"Warning Sign" and the title track on A Rush of Blood to the Head.
"Murder," "I Ran Away," "See You Soon," and "Bigger Stronger" on various B-sides and singles.

Hmm, and on a totally superficial note, the bassist is good-looking.

IMO, Chris Martin is extremely annoying.. most of what annoys me though has nothing to do with music.

I read somewhere recently that Tim Rice-Oxley (the brain behind Keane) was offered a place in Coldplay but he ended up turning it down.. WTF? I can only imagine the amazingness that Coldplay would have been if he had accepted. Coldplay has great music but their lyrics are somewhat lacking (especially in the later albums) and Keane is the exact opposite. GAH! If only..

I'm going to be superficial with you and say that Guy Berryman is very good-looking. I have a thing for British guys though..

What did you guys think about their new single "Violet Hill"?
I was disappointed at first but it grew on me, now I can't stop listening!
They're also having a free show in NYC and London, I have yet to see them live and I want to go SO BADLY, hopefully I'll manage to score tickets!
