Anyone watch any of them before? I'm trying to get a hold of Paris by Night 81 and haven't had any luck.

I prefer Asia over PBN. But in PBN 81, I heard that they'll have three Korean Singers. I just forgot who.

Why on earth did they put 3 korean singers in? It seemed very out of place...Everyone was just politely clapping

I only recognized Im Tae Kyung from the little trailer I saw. I'm just trying to find it for my gf.

jeon hye bin is singing 2 AM on PBN, Kim Jong Kook is singing 'One guy' and Im Tae Kyung is singing 'Love will throw away love'. I might be mistaking about weither Jong Kook is singing One guy or the other song.

The title for PBN 81 is "Music Without borders." Music in that dvd are French, American, Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese (duh), and England (?). Anyway, the 3 korean singers were invited since they were touring the U.S. during that same time.

The people that saw the concert didn't see the korean acts. The Korean acts were performed seperately and then added into the dvd to make it look like they did.

What was up with the swimming scene in Nhu Loan's perf? That was so random.

I stopped watching those awhile ago, but when I Did watch, I prefered PBN - which was laughable, but as my mom would say, "This is actually a pretty good standard for Vietnamese videos."

my mom would always watch PBN ... one of my friends attended the one of the tapings. she also saw the lady host (dunno her name) at the gym and said she looks HIDEOUS without make-up O_O

my mom also watches van son (i think that;s the name?) ... but it's more skits than music.

i can't watch PBN sometimes b/c some of their cover songs r soooo bad

Considering past PBN's standard, this video was quite disappointing. I don't mind having Korean singers featured on the video because it has a purpose. Since "Music Without Boundaries" is the theme, why not make use of the current "Korean Wave" hitting both Vietnamese in VN and United States? They have to do what sell best.

When I said "disappointing", it was meant to be for the whole thing in general.

Paris By Night is okay. Asia is okay too. And.. .Van Son is okay as well.
All have good points and bad points.

Seeing other opinions on this.. I'm wondering if it's worth the watch or not. Ah well.. just for Korean perfs then. haha..

Random note, my cousin knows the lady host (don't know her name either) of Paris by Night and her husband (who sometimes hosts for Asia). And yes, she doesn't look that pretty without makeup.. and she's TINY!

The host's name is Nguyen Cao Ky Duyen....and yes, she needs to eat! She looks like she has no muscle on her arm! hehehe I checked out the korean performances of JHB and KJK on youtube, not bad! I'd rather watch them than some other performaces on PBN these days.

I only saw the 1st disc. At 1st im like Bad ass !! Hye Bin & Jong Kook (didnt know the other guy) Then i got to thinking and im all,,hmmm most of the people that are watching this are vietnamese how would they act on the 4-5 minute of korean singing ? I kept thinking of that while the the korean singers sing, and it just made me laff, thinking of how the vietnamese audience's face will look like listening to that. Hye Bin's 2 AM was good, my mom even thought so. I liked Jong Kooks One Man but ehhh i guess other people thought it was boring.

They should add hip hop korean singers in there like Hye Bin, cause since u cant understand them, u can still watch them dance, but whatever.

Overall, PBN81 was okay. Some songs were good and others were...well not so good ". Minh Tuyet's song was good and the instruments used were kool. haha. but it was weird how the stuck in 3 korean singers in there..not to mention..one after the other. The funnie thing was that the female Korean singer got a big picture on the cover whie the two dudes only got two tiny boxes. haha. I thought that was interesting to see.

i dton think the 2 krn singers were werid...it did kinda go with the theme. i liked the part when the old guy and the other guy compared their string instruments , the old guy was cute and i actually laughed at some of the parts. the whole thing was alright i guess.

i think it's pretty hot and unqiue of them to add some korean singer in since korean song n series are hella poplar now days for the vietnames community but yea to tell the truth the audience reaction kinda disappoint me once again cus they're so dull out.

Overall i didn't adore tis PBN though those grls holie n angela singin my way was awful to me. NOt a good first impression of them bcus they are easily compare wit purity in aisa bcus it's not unique anymoor for two americanlize grls sing upbeat songs...im gettin tired of tat. mayb it's the song but they just dont' seem tat special to me.

Another thing is it jus meeh or is nhu quynh getting moor n moor ridiculous wit her ova acting face expression? im gettin really annoy by tat. n nhu loan performance was kinda arkward but at least she didn't spread her legs like last time where she sing with minh tuyet n loan chau so thx goodness.

I agree. KJK and the other guy's songs were a bit too slow... and ballady, not really catchy for a non-korean speaker.

I find this PBN kinda dissapointing cause it has so many slow songs and not enough fast songs songs.

I think though, the artists they chose (out of the ones whose schedule fit/style), they were chosen for a reason - look @ PBN's core audience - our parents, right? Do our parents want to listen to Shayla-type-techno/ multiple Lynda Trang Dai & Tommy Ngo type stuff? Most likely not. It adds variety, but I think they chose these Korean artists because they would not alienate the core PBN audience.

So think about that.

i think bringing k-artists into PBN is stupid since PBN has more of an older generation watching, if you didnt notice. So they wouldnt really know who the heck these singers are not to mention what they're singing lmfaos

how did you guys not hear of Jeon Hye Bin and Kim Jong Kook before? They're in X-Man. But i liked PBS 81. Minh Tuyet was good and Bang Kieu sang really good. He did a remake of one of the Winter Sonata's songs. And the guy before him sang another remake too! I thought this video was pretty good. And Im Tae Kyung sang really really good. I never heard of him before, but he just made me melt. He sounds like Josh Groban.

my parents are in the middle of watching PBN 81. i do't understand viet so i can't understand it but i like to watch. i walked into the living room just as Nhuy Quynh (sp?) had finished her song......

isn't that video with korean singers? some songs of it was good but the rest was like repeating so I didn't like it much.

PBN 81 was pretty boring to me except for the korean performances. They should perform on Asia instead, because Asia's geared more towards the younger audience while Paris By Night is for older audiences. I think I heard a rumor about Bi possibly performing on one of Asia or PBN's shows?

yeah Paris by Night 81 wasn't that great this year. the best part was the korean section i must say lol. yees kim jong kook! oh man and the comedy skit was just terrible...and no i don't buy the $30 dvd lol i buy the fake ones and they're good quality too

also i thought minh tuyet performance of "da Khong Yeu Thi Thoi" was great. i really like the song. and nhu loan sang the viet version of a time for us [the song in romeo and juliet]. it was pretty good.

Oh well, I just watch PNB and Asia from time to time when my parents put it so loudly =_=

lol, yeah i think i would have to agree that van son is the best compared to asia and paris by night.

^Van Son sucks. From the sound quality, the entertainers, the lighting, to the host. To me, it doesn't seem really professional how the show is put together. plus some of the comedians in Van Son really lack substances, their comedies aren't even funny. It sounds lame.

The Bang Kieu guy version of the Beautiful Day Drama song was just Wow...

Well, that sucks. It seemed to good to be true that there was something new to PBN. The idea of putting Korean singers in was a little out-of-place, but at least it was interesting.

I really don't like PBN. I think it's because I can't stand some of the artists in there. They need some new, original songs or something. I don't know... I just don't like it.

And they keep putting those crap dance-y tracks in PBN, gosh. I managed to stomach Ho Le Thu's performance though. I kinda liked it
