Does anybody have a band or artist that can make them cry (for whatever reason) even though you have no idea what the heck they are saying?

For me it's Plastic Tree. I really don't know why but their much older stuff gets to me everytime. I don't really understand the lyrics but the music and the vocals put together sound so melancholy and beautiful at the same time.

Gazette for the same reasons.

hmmm Onpu no Tegami by Miyavi makes me emotional/teary. It's just a beautiful piece and his voice expresses alot of emotion and a kind of sadness so its really touching. I looked up the lyrics and it was about him loving someone but not being able to say it.

Other than that i don't think i would exactly cry unless i'm listening to a song while in a sad situation....

do you mean lyrics in another lanuage?

or do you mean when you can't understand what the lyrics are conveying (that's in a language you can understand)?

James Blunt's Goodbye My Lover makes me cry. I don't even really understand it because I'm assuming there's a story to it.

Silver Ash's songs, because their songs are so poetic and beautiful and sad-sounding. I loved them so much. When they disbanded I was heartbroken, and that only added to the sadness..

Also the song "Orenji no Taiyou" by Gackt and Hyde. I cried so much during their movie Moon Child. And so everytime I hear the song, if I don't start crying, my eyes at the very least well up and I'm forcing back tears.

oh... well SE7EN makes me cry, for the same reasons as you and plastic tree.

Gackt- The voice is just incredible, it is just..words can't express it "Last Song" = Tears 4 me as well as "Freesia pt1".

Micheal Jackson- The whole definition of the word amazing, great song writer, amazing singer, in the performance of "Will you be there" I cried with him, so much emotion and the song "Lady In My Life" from "Thriller" OMG greateness.

Janet Jackson- She is sooo deep, the Velvet Rope album definetly showed that, and in her "ComeBack To me" song, I felt her emotion.

TLC- Just three amazing girls, there chemistry alone makes me cry because it was so real, unlike alot of female groups in the song just listen to the whole "Ohhhh on the TLC tip" album which was there first, everytime I look back on I tear up because you can just see the love they had for each other when they first started until the day they lost Left-Eye, but still Left Eye's spirit remains and they still love her.

Aaliyah- She was the sweetest girl in the world "The one I gave my heart to" she sounded so heartbroken in that song I'm not sure if she was but she sang it the way it should have been sang.

Se7en- Amazing artist and vocalist, so much dedication deserves him fame listen to "Last of Dairy" both versions, one of Se7en's greatest ballads.

Bi- Same as Se7en, and when he talks about his mom, soooo beautiful "Nan" such a wonderful song that makes me tear up.

Prince- 100% incredible, great songs

Weiss Kruez- So underrated, these men have incredible voices, they go together so well "Stone Roses" OMG.

Luther Vandross- terrific "Here and Now" puts me to tears.

Mariah Carey- One of the greatest female vocalists, she puts so much emotion into her songs "Always be my baby" great song she used her vocals so well.

Patti Labelle- OMG, OMG, Her voice is sooooo amazing, wonderful soulful singer "If Only You knew" please listen!

Songs by SID. Mao has a beautiful smooth voice... especially in Ao (album version) when he sings without any background music in the beginning. It's really "raw" and powerful ;___;

Anything slow. Slow songs generally trigger those tears.

I don't understand Japanese but Gackt's 'Last Song' made me bawl. Especially the music video
& Damien Rice's songs.. omgsh they're so sad. - The Blower's Daughter & 9 Crimes.

Nell's "Ja Hae" and Gackt's "Kono Dare Mo Inai Heya De".
Those two are my fave self-loathing songs.
Breaks my heart everytime I listen to them, especially when I'm feeling down.
