it's officially "filipino" for both the national language and the people. the national language use to be called "pilipino" until around 1987. since then the language has officially been "filipino". and if we're talking of people, in the constitution, we're called "filipinos" as in "we, the sovereign filipino people..." pwera na lang siguro kung sa tagalog mo ginagamit. siyempre, pilipino yun. "mga kapwa FILIPINO" just sounds awkward doesn't it? bah. confusing, lol.
anyway, sorry for straying from the topic. check out singing champions like rachelle ann go, sarah geronimo, sheryn regis, christian and mark bautista, erik santos etc. they've been very popular for the last 3 years. what i like about them aside from the fact that they can sing is that they have cutesy titles like "the crystal voice of asia," "the teen princess," "asianovela diva" and what have you. if you're not into pop, there are also a lot of bands and artists from other genres that have been mentioned in this thread. basta ang dami. personally i like parokya ni edgar. ive been listening to them for the past 8 years. maaaan, these boys dont grow up. they're as kulit as they were since harana became a hit in 1998.
