'Chinese BoA', Jang Riln, to debut with a duet with Junsu from Dong Bang Shin Ki.

On the afternoon of June 2nd at Seoul's JW Marriott Hotel, SM manager Lee Soo Man said, "Chinese version of BoA, Jang Riln, will make a debut with a duet with Junsu!"

Currently 16 years old, Jang Riln is from Cheng Du, China. She was chosen along with Super Junior's Hangeng at SM China's audition. She has started her training at Korea three years ago and will aim at debuting herself in July.

Lee Soo Man said, "After the duet with Jang Riln and Junsu, her solo activities will begin."

SM expressed. "Jang Riln will first debut in China with a Chinese album. The album will be produced by SM Entertainment. Although the lyrics will be Chinese, the songs will have a Korean feel to it, hoping to bring a feeling of closeness between us."

Chinese name = 張麗茵(Zhang Li Yin)

I heard SM tried to make sure that no pictures of her came out before her debut. Even though she is another "BoA", I have more faith in her because this one is actually SM created. ^^

oooh...i can't wait! maybe it'll give some clues on the type of guy sm found in china that supposedly will be the 6th member of dbsk? =P i hope she's talented and not just another pretty face for sm to make money off of ><

Actually, some people on DAUM.net are claiming that that's Jang Riln..
but some people are arguing that's not her and the real Jang Riln has not been revealed yet.

the first 2 in comparison with the last don't even look the same... guess that could be the angle.
but yeah, the first two were some chinese girl that was already a singer, who was supposedly 'stealing' boa's Atlantis Princess look (why?? that's such an absurd style)... dunno who the 3rd one is (if she's different)...

this should be interesting.

most of the time, i - along with others - thing that boa-wannabes won't make it (they haven't), but because SM is specifically advertising this girl as a chinese boa, i have more faith in her. i guess.

but boa is trying to break into that market too. i guess they're sure having both of them there won't hurt both their careers...

the first two were posted on boajjang last year saying - after the french singer Lorie incient - that this chinese singer was also copying boa. that was before the idea for a Chinese BoA was revealed to the public so~...

oh well. i don't think she's pretty though, so that's pretty disappointing. D:

yes the girls in the pictures above is not her. Those are some of the contestants in the chinese show "Super Voice Girls" - a singing competition show.

YEah. I wanted to see what she looked like so I researched a little bit on DAUM and virtually all of the links are showing her as Jang Riln...

I don't know if that's such a good idea. She's probably really talented at singing, but being labeled as the "Chinese BoA" won't really boost her career. I PERSONALLY THINK that she'll be compared to BoA. ><

Maybe then she can kick Jolin out of the market cause I hate her.
Anyways....I really want to see her pics.

steph dear, jolin is not part of the china market.. shes in the taiwan market.. which i regard as a seperate country to china or seperate entity at least with just a historical connection..

They just said that they were going to promote a solo female artist. Its amazing what the media does.

o god. first of all i hate ppl who cant make any music of their own and have to cop so lets HOPE that this jang riln girl does songs that has her own STYLE.

secondly, boa WASN'T a fantastic singer when she debuted. so give this jang riln girl a chance to sing geez. boa WAS a pretty decent dancer when she first debuted so i'll give that to her.

and jang riln is supposed to debut in chinese... i dont see why she needs to have good krn.

i'm not gonna judge her before i see her talent.
i'm excited though, people should give her a chance.

I am definitely looking forward to her debut---or, at least JunSu's voice. If Lee SooMan says she was trained to be another BoA, or supposedly good enough, I'd say she would probably have something similar to BoA. But with all "imitating" put aside, I'm sure she wouldn't have her own say in it. This puts her under a lot of pressure. I hope she gains her own style soon if that's so, but I hope we'll all give her a break because BoA wasn't amazing all of us with her own debut. I really want to see what she looks like.

if SM puts soo much efforts onto her then she can't be that bad...most of sm's popular stars are pretty talented....and look at hankyung from super junior~~~i love him~~~ ^0^ altho his korean is still not that good

i don't like how lee soo man compares her to boa. i mean, boa's a good singer, but the world does not revolve around her zhang yi lin should be known as zhang yi lin, not as a chinese boa.

The fact that she's doing a duet with junsu means that she'd get alot of attention. At least that got my attention haha. She's lucky, really. I mean, junsu is a great singer who's extremely popular and well-known.

i mean when you think about it, why would lee sooman choose that one girl out of everyone in his academy if she wasn't talented. he must obviously believe that this girl will make it big otherwise he would've just put her in a girl group or something. i mean there are probably hundreds of gorgeous and talented girls at his academy who have trained for over five years and him choosing to promote her must mean that this girl has something.

It's all in Lee Soo Man's plan to seize chinese entertainment industry. It's his thinking to "Why not have chinese people in his company to gain more chinese fans?"

Next thing you know, he'll have japanese singers in his company. no joke.
