'07 Asia Song Festival to Open in Seoul



The guest list of the 2007 Asia Song Festival, Asia's biggest music gala, has been decided.

The Korea Foundation for International Cultural Exchange says 14 teams from nine countries will perform at the festival opening Sept. 22nd at Seoul World Cup Stadium. The star studded list includes Lee Hyori, Super Junior and SG Wannabe from Korea, F4 and Cheung A-mei from Taiwan, ZhaoWei of China, Gigi Leung of Hong Kong and Golf & Mike of Thailand.

The concert will be free and tickets can be downloaded from the foundation Web site from early September.

Chief of the foundation board of directors Sin Hyeon-taek says "we hope that the 2002 World Cup fever would repeat at the song festival as a venue to boost the Asian music industry and cultural exchange."

August 25th, Gig Leung will hold a concert in Shanghai to mark her 10th Anniversary in Showbiz. In order to express a different side of her, she had been practising hard for special segments such as performing magic and had even invited VanNess Wu to dance with her, enable her fans to expect more variety of performance from her concert.

Apart from the special performances, Gigi will also be more daring in her concert costumes to showoff her good figure, had also invited VanNess to perform intimate dance routine with her. According to source, VanNess will be performing a special dance segment to pay tribute to Michael Jackson, also he will be performing with Gigi for his song 'My Kingdom'. On Gigi's dance capabilities, VanNess expressed that, although she may not have given others an impression that she can dance well, but he will to bring out Gigi's greatest ability on dancing.

Gigi's Shanghai concert will be held next week.
Special guest for the concert is originally scheduled to be Vanness Wu.
From the beginning, we have worked hard to negotiate the schedule with the filming crew.
However, it's the crucial period for the filming crew, the pressure of catching up with the filming schedule, as well as having to rush filming day and night in order to complete filming within the contract stated time of the female lead Pu Zhi Ying.

In addition, F4 will be visiting Japan and Korea for Taiwan's tourism 2nd round of promotion on 0920- 0924. Unavoidingly, will have to take leave from filming too.
And to be special guest at the concert, it wil take 3 days for rehearsal + performance. Even though we tried very hard to fight for it, in the end it can't be scheduled.
It is confirmed that VanNess won't be able to attend Gigi's concert.
Altough to us, it's a regret.
But as we have a contract with the filming crew in the 1st place, we have to respect the filming's crew decision.

It has been 2 years after Vanness Wu and Vivian Hse breakup. Yesterday, at Grand Theatre filming location at Hengdian, he talked about his home in Taiwan which he specially designed to be like a lounge. He admitted Vivian Hsu has visited b4. However, he disclose further about the past love. He added: " Elva has visited, Jerry Yan too. I have invited many friends over to my house, it's a very common thing. "

Among F4, Vanness is the most enthusiastic in investments.
Besides a house in Taiwan, lately he has been considering in buying property in America and China, to rent out and be a landlord. In addition, he invested in a shoe shop together with some friends, as well as Machi company. He also designed concert merchandises for Japan concert which are sold out.

This year, Vanness will place his career focus in China. He has not acted in drama serials for 2 years. He has accepted a China-Korea collaboration called "Grand Theatre" which is currently filming in Heng Dian, and will work with Pu Zhi Ying.
And also, he has become the 1st male endorser of a China casual brand. A 2 year contract brings in about over NT$10 millions into his pocket.

Few days ago, he had a photo shoot for its catalogue. Within a day, changed over 30 sets of outfits. He revealed privately, after Japan concert, he relaxed and have put on 5kg due to constant eating and water retention. When he looked at himself in the mirror, he decided he has to lose weight.

Every morning, he'll go for a jog around his hotel in HengDian, and at night he'll do 30mins of push up and sit up. For breakfast, he'll have 1 piece of chocolate and 4 egg white. Lunch and dinner, he'll have boiled vegetables and breast chicken meat.
His manager takes pity on him and allows him to eat unrestrictively on weekends. He said he looks forward to weekends, coz he loves eating. It's a torture not able to eat.

Vanness is still busy shooting the TV play,
and the team hope to complete most of the shooting at the end of September.

Okay...this is kinda random...I've been reading tons of articles on F4 disbanding. Which, makes me sad...cause it'll be hard to see all the guys together again. I mean, they haven't been doing projects as F4 for some time now, besides the recent "tourism" activities; but it's gonna be hard to get 4 different management companies to compromise.

And, it's mentioned that Vanness will not resign with his current management. And, his future plans are to advance into China and Korea. I'm looking forward to it.

angelxsmile: ye i know what u mean..since F4 started their career there were already rumours about them 'disbanding'..But actually, disbanding is not the right word to use..cause F4 is not a boyband formed officially just like other boybands.. F4 was formed because they played the group F4 in Meteor Garden..And because they got famous through MG as F4, in reality the fans and everybody called them F4 automatically..But since the very beginning they already did solo jobs...

Anyway, here is the latest news from F3's manager which clarifies it all

Management company denies F4 will disband
This news always repeats year after year

There are rumours that F4 will disband after Taiwan tourism event in end October.
When contacted their manager Mr Chih yesterday, he denied the rumours and said the news of their disband repeats year after year but until now they are still together.
Jerry has his own company, but the other 3 has no plans on leaving, and will continue with Fu Long.

Aight....well let's see what's new since the last blog.....hmmm.mmmm.....absojohn teshinlutely NOTHING! I'm still in China, it's still Hot as hell and people all around want ice water...all I do is wake up in the morning log onto the computer...man what a loser I am, then after I go run around my hotel for an hour to try to keep fit from all the yummy grease filled food they serve here. When I ask them...please less oil, they say no problem, then take a gallon full and start cooking with it. So then I have to ask them, ok just use hot water and boil me some chicken and brocolli for that is all I can eat right now...but soon the time will come and the drama will finish and I can go back to eating....you guessed it...more steamed chicken and brocolli....yeah for me....ah the life of a fat boy! Seriousness again...16th of Sept. I'll be in Shang Hai, 18-21 Nippon (Ramen city here I cometh!) 21-23 Seoul...Kimchi chi chi chi chi....B.D.S. woohoo!!! Then it's on to recordin albums...which ones...guesss.....ooooo the suspense...!!! Aight peeps till next time....(fill in the blank)

The Journey to Shao Lin

For those of you who don’t know about the Shao Lin Temple; it’s probably one of China’s most illustrated temples of all. I still remember the first time I was introduced to it (way back in the day); from Jet Li’s “Shao Lin Temple”- a must see for those of you who haven’t yet. Shao Lin Temple is most famous for the intense focus and discipline the monks put into their practice of martial arts and their search for inner peace.

The last time I was there was two years ago; I was shooting a documentary about the Temple while training there. Not to mention being ALSO being blessed into becoming an honorary disciple of the Shao Lin. Being a fellow Christian, I must admit- that sh*t was a trip! I was there for about a month… the daily agenda consisted of waking up every morning at 7am, eating breakfast, training ’til about noon, lunch, one hour break, train AGAIN ’til 5 pm, dinner and in bed sleeping by 11 pm (GASPING FOR AIR…) This is a true form of cleansing the mind, body and soul- but then again- we’ll always be tainted by the malevolence of Man. sigh.

Part of the training- hiking up the many mountains to train inside. Not to mention- the view at the top is overwhelming.



The introduction to the fighting skills at the Shao Lin Monastery has been attributed in legend to the Indian Monk Bodhidharma (now try saying THAT three times fast!) who went to the monastery in 527- three decades after it was originally founded. Bodhidharma allegedly spent nine years in contemplation, facing the wall of a cave on Song Mountain above the monastery. You can see the statue of him to the left of the picture. Note: The cave is only a little bigger than a porta-potty.



A painting Bodhidharma, done by 邱錫勛. A very famous painter from Taiwan- he uses real tar on all the pieces. He was invited by the Grand Master to do about 20 plus paintings big and small to be auctioned off- all the proceeds went to charity, including an orphanage several miles down the road that the Master is now running.



Another one of Bodhidharma in the cave- this time facing the wall. I picked this one up at the auction… definitely not cheap… but for a good cause. Plus, this was the only one that was done completely in tar.



Outdoor show mixed with martial arts and music… really nice visuals. The set was built into the actual mountain, and this is only half the stage… WATCH OUT VEGAS!!!

I'm such a groupie...which is funny cos back when I saw him the first time in Meteor Garden like 3 months ago, I was always rolling my eyes at him whenever he came on the screen. Even though he didn't have much screen time, I was like "man, be gone somewhere!". Even my friends who didn't find him that attractive told me to give him a break lol. But I knew I was overreacting and I had no serious reason for not liking him and when they were kinda talk bad about him, I was like "be quiet! He is not that bad" lol I know I got a twisted mind. But my heart melted every time I saw his smile.

But then I came across a recent pic of him with short hair. *drool* *swoon* and then I saw the abs...*i will not pass out, i will not pass out*

I know I was all about his body. I admit it but then I found out that he had already 2 solo albums. I listened to them...keep on humming most of the songs of the 2nd album. I like it when he raps even though the lyrics...lol ok I think he's a good performer but I think I like him better as an actor. They need to give him more roles

It was a weekend full of both suprise and embarrassment. Imagine my suprise when my best pal Onimal (Andy On) phoned and ask for my assistance in dealing with a home intruder!

Whoa... imagine our suprise and embarrassment when we realized who we were beating. I mean, I guess we just got a little over-excited.

Apparently, Van was getting sick and tired of us ignoring his calls and msn messages, so he decided to come to HK personally for some love from his homies (but got a beating instead). I bought him a bag of Cheezels and a bottle of cold water after the incident, so I think everything is cool between us now. In retrospect, we should have took a closer look before we started beating him, but to be quite honest, we really couldn't recognize him... not really a fan of his stuff I guess... so we really can't be blamed for anything but beating a stranger who just happened to turn out to be one of our closest friends...
