I play soccer, and I always had this question in mind. I play fine with either an empty stomach and a full stomach, but what about yall? I guess playing on a full stomach would give you cramps while you play, and with an empty stomach you could lose stamina quickly.

half full, like eat maybe a snack or so, no sugar tho, but if you wanna be hyper during a game...it works well

You never want to play in an empty or Full stomach. Just enough to take you throughout the game. Just eat spagetti before a game. And drink not too much water, just about a bottle of water(not chugged) before the game.

What are you eating btw? Carbs fuel you during games so pasta, bread, or rice is all good.

i used to play with empty stomach (for basketball) but it isnt good as i went panting after a short while . . however if i had a GOOD meal 3 hours before, i can run very well for full match.

I haven't played actual sports aside from PE class in years. But back when I did, I would always eat. Playing with a full stomach never bothers me or makes me sick or anything. As for cramps, I get those if I don't eat. Food just gives me more energy.

i dont have much stamina unless i have a light meal with complex carbs about 45 minutes before i start doing anything - it's supposed to be two hours before exercise, but for some reason i find 45 minutes is good for me... i feel a bit weak and tired if i don't

Never play on an empty stomach because you won't have the energy to perform well. However that doesn't mean be playing anything with a full stomach because you don't want to be throwing up all over the ground. Like everyone stated here already, keep water to a minimum and have something to eat, just not so filliing, prefarably a piece of fruit or a small sandwich. Its best to stay with food that are high in carbohydrates, to give you quick, needed energy

yeah, eat an hour before, and dont drink too much of anything right before you play. you can hear it gurgling in your stomach...i felt nauseous if I ate anything sweet before I played soccer. Idk why.

I usually snack by eating candy and drinking powerade for swimming because I'm always put in short swims that require quick bursts of energy (50 Free, 100 Free, 200 Relay, etc.).
I don't eat anything before I go to Karate because it's early in the morning and I don't want to eat ^^;.

I always need something in my stomach before I play.
If you end up throwing up, it's better throwing up something than stomach acid.

For basketball, I usually go to the bathoom before a game.

Then I drink about a half a bottle of water (drink not chug) before the game.
For track and field, being a thrower and not having to run, except for javelin, I usually eat a small sandwich or some trail mix.

I'm usually neutral. Not hungry/not full
Sometimes, if I eat too much before I play a sport, I get too sluggish and tired
Also, I get thirsty easily, and I pretty much chug the drinks, which are ice cold, and then I get a stomachache.

I eat a bagel. Pasta is inconvenient to eat right before playing a sport, in my case usually tennis. I never drink water before playing, or else as I'm running around on the courts, I feel the water sloshing around in my stomach.

I drink a little bit of Gatorade between every court side flip.

I just eat a small snack and drink some water before I do judo or wrestling. I don't like to eat full meals before doing those sports because my stomach starts to hurt .___.

it's simple.
half stomach.
gotta eat something so you don't feel drained and light headed.
gotta eat something light so you don't feel like you're going to throw up.
a simple sandwich will do.

I buy a footlong sandwich at Subway before I go exercise/play sports, eat half before (like 30 minutes before, or even right before), and eat the other half after. If there's no time to get food, I just eat afterward. I don't feel any different if I eat or not. I just eat 'cause supposedly it's easier for the body to recover.
