Anybody out there a tennis player?
If you are, what kind of brand name racquet do you like to use or wish you had to use. I want to buy a new racquet for my boyfriend but i have no clue about anything when it comes to tennis...so if anybody could give me some advice on the type of racquet, brand name, where to buy it or a range of what it might cost i'd really appreciate it!

i think u shud ask wat brand he would prefer 1st then think about wat level of tennis he's at and buy a racquet according to his skill lvl and preference
ill use myself as an example since i play tennis:
- im around average/good
- been playing for several yrs, i play wen i can which is around couple times a month
- got some killer shots and serves
- can hav a decent fast-paced rally
i always had cheap racquets wen i was just starting off but 2 yrs ago i bought a $150 (aus dollars) <HEAD> brand racquet which was on sale from $400
so yeh if u really love ur bf buy him a racquet around the cost of $100-200 if hes a decent player

i have a prince racket which was about $70, on sale from $100. I play about three times a week, but don't have a ton of experience so yeah..

It really depends more on his style of playing and ability level than just the brand. I prefer Prince, I'm looking into the Graphite Exo, but my brother, who's a lot more experienced than I am, plays with the Wilson Kfactor series. It might be better to just go to a local Pro Shop with your boyfriend and get suggestions then you can order it cheaper online since pro shops have a tendency to be pricey. He might be able to demo some racquets, depending on the facility.
Some good brands are the obvious Prince and Wilson but other brands are Yonex (pretty expensive, upwards of $250 usd, I think), Babolat, and Head. Some other details you definitely need are his current grip size and the balance of the racquet which helps with certain shots. I play with even racquets but my brother (my permanent tennis example) uses head-heavy rackets for his playing style.
Price range-wise, $100-$250 would be about right for a brand-name racket from a pro-shop or online.

I use a Prince O3 Speedzone and love it. You should consider it. The grip is padded comfortably just to my liking. It's very lightweight and the racket length is somewhat shorter than most. Power and control is above adequate and for $180 after tax, it's nice. For backup I have a Wilson nCode and another cheap Wilson for the backup to my backup.
