apart from the list.....I like Z-Chen, Harlem Yu and Panda Xiong Tian Ping....their songs really touched my heart

if you like ballads and R&B, Z chen is a great choice. not only he possess great vocal skills. the tone of his voice is very soothing, it just sorta pulls you in.

i love lee hom's voice. his songs are just O.K for me. his album usually contains a few (usually 4 max) good songs. then the rest are just whatevers. (same thing goes for david tao. but i personally like the tone of david's voice better. it's more.. relaxing. weird 'cause im a hardcore lee hom fan )

karen mok is always a good listen. because she doesn't have the typical "singer" voice. it's a little husky, a little sultry, lots of emotions.

tanya chua, great singer, great lyricist. one of the best female balladER hands down.

Lee Hom has the sexiest voice EVER IMO.

Liang Jing Ru is one of my favorite female artists! I have all of her cds, love all of her songs. Her style isn't mainstream either, which makes it even better!

F.I.R. had a good 1st cd, but the 2nd one was not very good IMO. WAY too similar to their 1st one.

Of course <3 Jay Chou.

lols, it's this horrible mainland singing talent shows where hot girls r dressed in teenybopper clothes, and ugly girls are made to look like guys. of course, none of them can actually sing, some of them r alright for kareoke standards i supporse. but the amazing thing is, these people actually become famous.

Anyways, I agree with Fan Wei Qi, she is pretty good. and Amei has the most amazing voice.

For some relatively older music, I just remembered Shunza. Her 'I'm not a Star' album is amazing, and her voice is so amazingly high! And her new english/french album is also really good.

Angela Zhang, or Zhang Shao Han, also has a great voice, but most of her songs r average. 'Yu Yan' is good.

not a fan of jay. imo, Jay's songs only sound good when he doesnt sing it. his voice is.......

jacky cheung is one of the best for canto. you wouldn't happen to be sick of 7f? some of the 7f and 183 club songs are quite nice.

I agree with a lot of the singers listed. Absolutely amazing. Especially Lee Hom He's so talented. However, I find almost all amazing singers sing in Mandarin. It's so hard to find good quality Cantonese singers.

agree. i havnt heard any recent good canto singers. Miriam and Joey are okay, but i wudnt rate them above singers like stef or Fish. Karen Mok is amazing though, but i guess she actually sings more in mandarin now.

as for SHE, i kno they're popular and cute, and their voices r good, but they dont sing with much emotion. when they sing ballads, they sound like they've never been in love before.

coco lee has an amazing voice, i agree, but she kinda stopped making chinese albums. her last english album was good, but not great.

Ahm...anyone listens to Nicky Lee? He use to be in the Taiwanese group Machi, and now he has a solo album. I heard he use to mostly rap only, and therefore surprised everyone with his singing skills in his new album. My favorite track is track 7 "Just Holding Your Hand".

yes. definitely the best. they dont call him the new jacky cheung for nothing. yes there are many great singers out there, but this guy is so versatile that few can match him. (to me, none can)



he makes great music. he is talented. and he knows how to make a song 'suit' him really well. hats off to that. but i do think he isnt a really good singer. it has nothing to do with his diction (his mumbling).

hitting high notes. singing in different voice. singing live. yeah he does that.

but when he hits the higher ranges, his voice strains in a weird way. and to prove critics that he can sing he has been using alot of vibrato (which sounds weird. and also has been picked on by critics), and it comes off weird too.

i enjoy his music. i have all his cds (like bought them) except for the last 2. and his live too. i like him. but i cant defend that he is a good singer.

Yeah for sure no one can .Even his live performance is just as good as his CD. The U87 album is definately his best. 浮誇 is the song i really liek cuz he sings with such emotion

Well, personally I like Jay Chou a lot. I think his songs are really unique. I guess he's a good singer, but sometimes his diction REALLY irks me.

I also like Nan Quan Ma Ma. 南拳妈妈. They're good, too. Except I don't think their 3rd album was nearly as good as their 2nd album. *sigh* It's starting to deteriorate.

Then there's Nicholas Teo. Teo? What the heck? His last name is 张. His name in Chinese is 张栋梁. Anyways, I don't think his songs are really popular because he's not quite so mainstream. But I like the style... maybe because it's more closer to the American alternative type, but whatever.

Next, there's May Day. 五月天. They're so amazing. I love the songs that 阿信composes. I think he's way underrated... I mean Wang Lihong gets more credit than he does... *not that I'm saying anything!* Their songs are more on the "rock"-ish side, which is also why I like them.

I can't think of anything at the moment. But I probably will.

LEEHOM, F.I.R, Faye Wong (definitely talented), David Tao, and Elva Hsiao. I love their music and would choose them over cute, whiny voices anyday. The others on your list i haven't heard of but i'll certainly give them a try. There is one other artist I recommend and am sure everyone has heard of already...JAY CHOU!

the female vocalist from F.I.R is not good live, but they have nice songs. David Tao is great, i love the remake of teresa tang's song.
