A family drama. The series begins with a happy family: a father, a mother, and three young sons. Due to a tragic accident, the father passes away early in his life leaving the mother to take care of her three growing sons. Time passes quickly and you see the sons have grown up and are used to doing chores around the house. The oldest son is a salaryman [Tamayama Tetsuji], the middle son [Hayami Mokomichi] is a popular swim instructor (with his own fanbase), and the youngest son [Nakao Akiyoshi] is still going through schooling. It's mainly a drama about how these four get along and their daily obstacles in life such as meeting women, dealing with work, finding out what they want in life, etc. Of course this goes with a few fist fights and such thus the drama title, "Brother Beat", where beat is meant literally.

The only caveat I have with this drama is the mother - as sweet as she is and even though she is portrayed as raising all three sons by herself, her character is a little over the top. On the other hand, the other three young actors act very well. I would recommend this drama mainly if you like any of the actors mentioned above.

i love LOVE this drama, it's so friken funny and the guys are great to look at. too bad it's been like 3 months since they released subs for the 8th episode.

I just started watching this drama last week, got into it b/c I like Tetsuji. He was really great in the movie "Heaven's Bookstore" and his character here is soooo different from that one! All the brothers are adorable, and the mom totally cracks me up!

I just found my boxset of this again and im re-watching it right now.
The combo of hayami mocomichi and the older brother is fantastic.

The constant argument is cute and the situations the 3 brothers get into are so funny.
I think the girlfriend of elder brother (don't know her name) is really pretty even with the glasses, well, she's over all pretty =]

Just finished watching it. This is now one of my fave japaneses dramas. Outrageous and hilarious. They are such a quirky and funny family. I will definitely watch again.

I watched this because of Mokomichi but ended up liking Tetsuji! I really enjoyed watching this series. The charcaters are just so funny and yet loveable

I mean the brothers are cool and I love there relationships, I just hate the females involved

i love this show so much i started a thread on it not realising there was already one dedicated to the show what a waste of my efforts. oh well, just to make my presence felt in this thread - this show rocks!

AWESOME DRAMA. I didn't expect much out of the drama, but because Asami Reina (the girl with the short hair) and the mom-actress are in it, I decided to start watching it, and I finished this all in a few days. Absolutely hilarious and simply great chemistry between all the characters!

omg i just found out Tamayama Tetsuji was Takumi in Nana. im extremely shock right now. i didn't know!!!
i really like Tatsuya's character, never knew he was the evil character in Nana. He is hot though.
