the only games i play are on the PC, and half the time it's at the pc bang. the last console i bought was an n64. i'm not much of a gamer, but i've picked up an interest in the DS lite. im considering getting it. anyone have it? is it worth it? hehe

and while we're on that topic, you guys play games often? how many hours? maybe i should pick up gaming. it's so much cheaper than ordering a bottle a week at the bar... crazy.gif

i used to do alot of console gaming, but not anymore.. my only working machines are my sega saturn and DC. my ps2 has died and i havent kept up in a while. PC gaming, other than an occasional hitman and Battlefield.. not very much..with the exception of Maple Story, in which I play with 2 other 20+ soompiers on a daily basis smile.gif
right now playing with my friend's DS lite and loving it. am intending to get that new flash cartridge (that sits flush in the GBA bay) that'll let me play mp3s, movies, MSN, and games.

i play a lot of winning eleven 10, tekken, street fighter with my homies... never touched an MMO for fear of what it will do to my life

i want a ds! but can't justify the purchase to myself, cause it seems to be a passing fancy

DS looks pretty tempting.. the screens are just really beautiful...

I bought PS2 just so I can play Gran Turisimo series... though i'm not sure if I'll fork over $600 for PS3....

But on PC, the only games I play are Free Cell and Minesweeper.

Alas, the whole gaming thing is way beyond me. I'm too old now.
The only handheld "game" I have is this digital blood pressure cuff.
And go figure, I'm going for the LOW score... unsure.gif

i've been playing games ever since i was a preschooler xD (MS DOS games ftw!!) i like all varieties. but the only ones that i dont fancy are sports (except NBA jam!!! anyone remember this game on genesis?!?!? w00t.gif )and MMORPGs

i enjoy a lot of old games (mid 80s-late90s). they truly dont make games like that anymore... =/ i especially prefer the action adventure games made by sierra and lucas arts (ie monkey island, maniac mansion, king's quest, laura bow, etc). i still play them when i have time.
along with those PC games, i still play some older games through emulators/roms (SNES and Genesis).

right now, i'm currently into my DS. those who are thinking about it, get it! it's truly innovative and fun with the stylus. DS games i'd recommend are: trauma center, phoenix wright, brain age/big brain academy, animal crossing.

as much as i frequent my DS, i very very frequent the arcades. i play every week ^^;;;; . the machines i usually play are wangan midnight: maximum tune, battle gear, beatmania, pop n music, and drummania. there are tons others that i play, but this post itself is just a smudge off the list of games i play =]

i agree with you there. i actually miss typing out commands in those old-school games like "look under bridge" or "kiss frog" because at least it necessitates having an idea of what you want to do. most of the games that i would consider most similar to KQ or maniac mansion these days are just point and click -- you know you've hit upon something when you're moving the mouse around and the cursor happens to change. you can seriously win as long as you're willing to find the "button". i don't think anyone knows what i'm talking about hehe. and even though the graphics and music and all that stuff own, the new games just don't have the same sense of humor. so yeah, KQ was my favorite (and esther, i LOVED the online peasant's quest game; it was incredibly hilarious)!

i haven't played any games for awhile now, but the ones i say i like today are sim city (love making little cities), sims (1 more than 2, don't know why), and games like syberia and dark fall and myst.
HtyPotter
I never played video games throughout middle and high school. In college i would play halo on the xbox from time to time, but no, I'm not a "gamer." But everyone has their own method of escapism, so you can never be too old for it.

I havent played as much these last few years as i used too.

Right now (and for the last 1-1.5 years) I've been into WoW, but I think I'm finally ready for the next big MMORPG. Personally I think the Burning Crusade exp pack will ruin the series.

I used to play Kingdom Hearts on PS2 and a little of KH2. I have a Gamecube for Mario Kart, Smash Bros and Mario Party. They are fun games to play with friends and family.

And I also recently picked up a DS Lite. I gotta say its pretty awesome. There are some really fun things that can be done with the touch screen stylus system.
Foreversky
I sold my PSP to get a DS LITE (white), and i must say, its ALOT more... innovating and engaging than teh psp. No more 5 min loading times, games are more fun, and i realli like that touch pad screen (first i thought it was ghey). Def get it, its worth it.

Other than that i play starcraft and lineage 1 every now and then >.<

i have nes, snes, n64, ps1, ps2, and gamecube. my ds is out of comission atm sad.gif. all the systems i just keep because i love them. tongue.gif

oh man, maniac mansion. now THAT's old school. You probably heard of this by now, but one of the flash cartridges that will be released in august will let you run Monkey island on the DS.

I've played sim city 1, 2000, and 3000. Unfortunately I could never get my cities to grow after a certain population level sad.gif

I want to get a DS lite just so I can play New Super Mario Bros. and battle it out online with Mario Kart.

As far as my gaming habits go, I play about an hour a day, usually just Madden 06 on my PC. I can't get enough football. Last non-football game I played was Half Life 2 Ep.1. Every once in a while I fire up an emulator and play some Super Nintendo or Sega Genesis games.

niiiice! i'm not sure how it'll work (b/c i lack technology knowledge tears.gif ), but i'd love to have it!
i actually played only a little bit of maniac mansion. i couldnt play it b/c the graphics were just horrible >__<;; and i kept dying. but i played 'day of the tentacle'. grrrreat game. i like the idea of having to control multiple characters in 'real time'

i never could cross that barrier either, but i didn't care. i prefer to have small, well-functioning cities with happy people. it's harder to maintain happiness levels with giant cities with tons of skyscrapers. that could be a lesson in life too, if you stretch it out a little.

man, maniac mansion brings back good memories. i think there's somewhere where you can play it online, and i did. it's so weird because when you're little and you're playing it, it's all good, but then you're grown up and you revisit it and it's like orange and purple tentacles drinking pepsi or something and you're like, wtf kinda awesome substances were the game creators on when they made this? but i used to love that game on nintendo.
DividedByZero
I haven't seriously gamed since middle school.

Although I am planning to camp out for a Wii on release day, if I don't like it I can always sell it on ebay during x-mas time.

funny, during my senior year as an undergrad, I wrote a seminar paper correlating high population density with conflict. basically saying that areas that are overcrowded creates aggressive mentality

i had nes, snes, n64, neogeo, ps, ps2
the only thing i still have is the ps2

i will most likely play anything that square-enix will throw @ me

on pc...
i've played so many games that it's not even funny
used to play maple story for awhile but it just got boring and i got sick of the 2D...
now i'm playing Seal On-Line
it's free... that is only one of the reasons that i'm playing this game...

lots of korean MMORPGs resemble each other imo.
it looks like a more cartoony version of flyff.

you should watch out, when the game becomes popular, they start charging people =P (but you probably already know that)

I've been playing video games since I was 5. I love them to death and I will never stop playing them. Video games are my life and it is something I am unwilling to give up. I even collect video games and what not. I'm mainly a console gamer and I don't really like too many PC games. Most of the games I play are RPGs. I really like to invest time into one game as I feel I can more for my money by playing a game that will occupy my time for several months.

Those who know me well are aware of my obsession with the Disgaea series on the PS2. I've clocked about 200 hours on that game alone then I slowed down until it got to the 260th hour where I eventually stopped. I still pop in Disgaea every now and then and play for about an hour. Once Disgaea 2 comes out, my social life will take another hit as I will definitely invest 300+ hours into this game.

I also have this obsession for the game Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney. Ever since I played that game about lawyers, I've constantly found myself pounding on tables, pointing my finger, and yelling OBJECTION!

I have to agree with Range. Girl gamers are seriously hot.
Pureracer
I mainly play sports games, Madden, Fifa, NBA Live, MLB2k#, etc, etc... I range from 30 minutes-hours, and I usually follow the same schedule as the team I am (usually Seattle teams).

which is why I keep telling you to try Maple Story. so far, the only 2-d mmorpg that kinda feels like a cross of Super Mario and Wonderboy (that old sega game) that's been free for a year now. really cutesy to appeal to girls.. alot of game play to appeal to guys (for one thing, you actually control your character and their attack..rather than click here click there)

my last console was a snes... but after DS lite came out i had to get it.... i don't regret it at all. its a lot of fun... and the way some games use the microphone & touchscreen is pretty fun & creative.. the game selection is good too..

if you buy games off ebay its a lot cheaper. so far i got...
new super mario bros.
phoenix wright
sims the urbz.
trace memory
tetris (i think u can play with up to 8 other people but haven't tried it)

i think the best thing is being able to play against your friends who have the DS.

I havent played as much these last few years as i used too.

now i only play;

- DS lite; brain age and big brain academy
- ps2; Guitar freaks, guitar heros
- PC; all kinds of emulation

guitar freaks is so addicting! Even for someone like me who doesn't know the first thing about guitars.

I have a PS2... or I had one... or I think I still have one... I let my friend borrow it a couple months back and I think he still has it. Anyways, I jumped from the original NES to PS2. haha I always liked video games, but was too poor to actually own systems. Since I missed so much, the games now feel too advanced for me to play. Most of them are too hard! ie: snake eater. wow... I played about 30 minutes and it was way over my head.

I built my first computer a few weeks back and tested it with the game FEAR. It runs flawlessly, but that game is scary, not to mention a little difficult. I don't like scary movies and will never watch another Final Destination movie, so playing a game that's freaky just makes me more scared! :X

I think I would like video and computer games, but after missing out on so much, they are too hard, scary, complex for me to really enjoy them. But I still play from time to time.

i wouldnt mind maple story so much if the leveling system didn't get so time consuming. it's like once you hit level 30, it takes days to level up just once! i dont mind the concept of earning your level ups, but i think MS takes it to an extreme...

u can probably guess i dont play anymore sleep.gif

Ok now I want a DS. I think I'll be paying a visit to Best Buy after work. Everyone who seems to own one seems to be raving about it, including all you people.

I play mostly CS and Battlefield 2 on my pc. Occassionally, when I'm bored, I load up my emulators to play old favorites. I do agree with many of you that games are no where near as fun as it used to be. A game I am really looking forward to is the new Command and Conquer. The original was the best RTS ever ~~~

smile.gif
i'm lagging yo
i've never owned any console besides the 1985 nintendo i got when i was like... i don't even remember.

i play pc games once in a while. I played starcraft and diablo 2 for like 4 or 5 years, no kidding. i was hooked.

but when i got into college i sort of stopped. the last game i played was FEAR and that was so awesome i just stopped playing games alltogether. or maybe there just aren't any good games out recently...

get the ds lite! i have the old one and when my friend lent me his ds lite to play, it was like day and night. the screen was so much brighter and fat stylus FTW!! about a few months ago, a friend of mine could only think of getting a psp. now he's sold it and got the new ds lite. it's a really creative handheld! and uh ... the design is so sexy! if you could wait, wait for the new colors to come out biggrin.gif

i've been wanted to get Phoenix Wright for a while now, but it's sold out everywhere TT_TT

I've been gaming for way too long, from the Atari~Intellivision~Commodore~to anything that's out now. If I'm gonna play anything at the arcade, it'll be Fighting and Bemani games.

Console wise, I keep an open mind and play anything as long as it's good. Lately, there hasn't been anything interesting but a few quality RPGs are coming out stateside for ps2 in the next month or two, so that's good.

I'm gonna paint my DSL haha, the white is boring. I only spend a handful of hours on games unless I'm really hooked on something.

i mostly play pc games...world of warcraft to be exact. i played cs for about 4+ years though. i swear, pc games are like the most addictive games. before i got into WoW, i did play ps2 quite a bit but now i don't really touch it even though i have a big backlog of games. i've been kinda bored with my DS ever since i beat new super mario bros. i'll need to get a new game for that sometime.

edit: scratch that, i forgot i do actually play GTA liberty city stories sometimes.

haha seems like alot of us have ds lite or planning to get one. We should post up our friend codes so we can play against each other. Only for the 20+

I have few game systems as well. It's either lost, giving away or just not used anymore. Let's see I have

old nintendo(broken)
sega genesis(giving away...<.< stupid brother gave it to his friend and never got it back)
ps 1 and 2( I brought ps 1 then my brother brought ps2 so he can play but I end up playing it. biggrin.gif)
game boy systems (old gamboy-gb color-gb advance sp)<--I didn't get gb advance because I wanted sp one instead.

pc games I played
starcraft
war craft
sin city
sims
rose
cs
gunbound
silkroad
flyff
hero
ms<--only game I still continue to play

I'm not hardcore gamer like some of you but I just like to play games that's fun and relaxing for me. ^^

WTH? Is that how the flash cards for the DS work? Some type of anti-piracy authentication built into the DS?

Anyways, yeah I've pretty much played almost all of those games previously mentioned like the Police Quest series, Kings quest etc etc etc. Yeah I've even played Leisure Suit Larry. ph34r.gif My favorite space combat-sim of all time has still gotta be Tie Fighter + expansion packs.
