The girl who plays Ako is Riko Narumi, and believe it or not, she's only 14 when she filmed this drama.

does anyone know where i can get the book? i heard that the books is way better than the drama.

i never cried as much as i cried after watching this one... i could barely open my eyes the next day. a good thing that it's only until episode 11 'coz if it's more than than i would have been hospitalize due to dehydration.

but it's very good... very inspiring. it's my very first j-doramas, but it's worth watching

The exact thing applied to me... didn't really cry until that moment when Ako stood up for her sister. That scene, IMO, was THE most powerful scene in the whole series. It sent bloody shivers down my spine...
After that scene, I just caved in and couldn't stop crying.

Episode 10 was also had a lot of heart-breaking scenes... I felt like Aya had given up hope then and it just put a sombre gloom over me.

But yah, I rate this drama 10/10. If I could give it more I would, but it is sorta a mathematical impossibility... lol.

BEST DRAMA I'VE EVER SEEN.

It will affect you like no other. Watch it. It is a must.

I just finished the entire series and I loved it.
I didn't start crying till about halfway through it but when I got up to episode 10 I was bawling my eyes out. The actors in this were awesome and Ryo was just <3.
I reccomend this to everyone who's been putting off watching it.

I'm only finished episode 9, but it is my favourite episode so far. The declaration at the end, and her sister... I love Ako and how loyal she is. I really like her family and how cute they are together; how Ako always teases her dad and how he responds back.

About the "books way better than the drama" assessment, it's pretty shallow because it's a journal, not an actual book. I'm sure no one's going to question that the drama will never live up to Aya's amazing real life experiences, but it's another to dismiss a very good drama when you don't know that much about it.

yeah its based on a true story .. all gained information from her diary entries .. you can see the real aya in the end in the credits ..

i guess the reason why i enjoyed this drama so much was the fact that it was based on a true story. it really touched me.

but yes, i hope that they'll publish an english version of her diary~ but i'll just read the translated one for now hehehe.

1 Litre of Tear is awesome :3 And there are 11 episodes.. so short.

I didn't really 'cry on every episode' but only on a few parts.. especially the ending. I cried very very badly. o_o;

That and 11 and I think.. 3 and other eps.

[spoiler]You know how she said that if she'll ever be able to get married in the beginning in her diary entry and her mom is reading it? And then when episode 11 rolls along~ and she says that herself when she's bedridden.... I cried so much. .__. I think maybe more than the ending..[/spoiler]

At such a young age, she had to live through her live not being able to go out.. be in love.. go on a date.. maybe a shopping trip with her friends....

It's so sad. .___.

this drama was really good.. made me cry so much T__T;; tears kept coming out.. i cried even more than other dramas i've cried in because it's a true story and i was like.. "wow... what if my life was like that.." and yeah... so sad R.I.P to Aya...

and yes.. ryo was very cute here & i loved how he protected aya so many times and how he was always there for her!! so cutee <3
