I finished watching the 4th ep today (even though I couldn't understand it)
I love this drama so much!!! I can't really comment much about the content coz I didn't understand any of the dialogue but the part when she fell down in the middle of the street was so well done...for some reason I started bawling in that scene...it shocked me for some reason (even though I'd seen the preview and knew it was coming) as soon as I saw the blood I was like T_T
But stupid basketball guy!
I suppose anyone woud be freaked if they found out something like that about a person they liked but I can't believe he would stand her up!!!!
But Ryo was soooo cute in this ep! I love how he ran to go find her when he realised she was gonna get stood up and how he was staring at her in class
I can't wait for the next episode!

Yup, that part in ep 4 where ]Aya fell and bumped her head on the road and then blood started to pour out, oh my, I was shocked and felt so sad for her at that time. And to think that the basketball guy stood her up like that is too much, I can tell from his expression when he was in the hospital after Aya fell that he is going to break up with her somehow. Anyways, I like the part when Haruto rushed to the park and brought the umbrella for Aya. That's just sooo sweet.
And in the preview for ep 5, it seems like Aya says "Sayonara" over the phone, I guess that she will break up with the basketball guy because she now knows her illness and wouldn't want to bother the Senpai *sighs*... That's sad, but at least, it seems like Haruto cares about her a lot more now.

this movie iss soo sad.... i can't wait until seeing the other episode....

i love this drama. the acting is great but i really think is a great love story and it is based on a true story. i almost wanted to cry at the end of the first episode when they showed the real person who they based it on.

it gives me goosebumps watchin this series

here is some spoiler (well general summary) for episode 4
i've typed it up using the white font, so it won't spoil it for the ppl who hasn't watched and don't want to know what happened

Aya was in shock about her disease, and she start to relise how much it's affecting her daily life. She can't play basketball properly and always making mistakes
Her senpai from basketball team asked her out for natsuyasumi firework festival. Aya dressed up nicely and everything and went with him. But while acrossing the street, she feel and hit her head hard on the ground.
Aya was sent to the hospital, and mizuno told her parents that her disease is progressing quicker than antisapted. He advised that she should stay in the hosptail for the whole summer to run some tests and find the best method and medication to slow down the progress of the disease.
Her friends from school came and visit her. And when the left, one of them (the girl..who played the piano) told the others why Haruto wasn't interested in interaction with others. She told them how his brother died in a fishing accident a year ago.
Aya had to do physio theory. And during one of her sessions her senpai came to visit her. He was in shock of the state she was in. When Aya said she couldn't go on a date with him during his bday, Mizuno said she can go, cause the hosptail isn't the only place for rehab. Aya was really excited, but the senpai wasn't.
Haruto also visited during one of her sessions. He asked her what she had. She told him she had an incurable disease, but then later said she was only joking. Haruto was concerned and went to research on Mizuno specialises in and he found out what Aya had.
On the day that Aya was suppose to go on the date with the senpai, her mom helped Aya buy the present that she wanted to give to her senpai. Haruto found out that the senpai was gonna cancel on Aya, so he ran to find her in the hosptial. But Aya had already left for the zoo, so Haruto ran off to find her there
It started rainning, but Aya didn't leave the zoo. Haruto finally found her and held an umbrella for her. He told her that senpai wasn't coming. Aya replied that before all this she already had a feeling he wasn't gonna come, and it was actually better for him not to come. She also quoted Haruto saying that Human are greedy and selfish and maybe they shouldn't chase after things that can't get. She then said how she wish she could go back in time, and how she want to make a time machine to go back in time

This drama is so touching. Made me cry alot even though I still have a long way to go to reach the end. I think I will shed more than a litre of tears for this drama.

when is it estimated for episode 5 to be released in raw/subbed/or whatever?

This drama airs every Tuesday night in Japan at 9 pm so I guess the raw should appear on D-addicts early Wednesday morning.
As for subbed files, it depends on the groups that are doing the subbing, but hopefully, we don't have to wait for long. Both PBFansubs and Kioku are doing a great job as getting the episodes out not long after the original eps aired.

as for the diease; the people with the disease, such as AYA, doesnt necessarily DIE right? cuz i mean, that little girl's father is still alive, although his body doesnt function everything correctly, he is still alive though. or that he and AYA will die eventually too, because of the disease?

and what does senpai mean?

^ I think that with this disease, the patient will eventually fall into a deep sleep and never wakes up. The real girl did die after 10 yrs of struggling with it, so yes, you will die eventually of this disease.

Senpai means (in the case of this drama) someone who is your senior.

Omgosh, omgosh, OMGOSHHHH I just watched the 4th episode.. I didnt cry for eps 1, 2 or 3, but I did for this episode.. Especially in the beginning of it when Aya said to her mom, "I'm only 15 years old.. What will happen later?" and when the basketball senpai didnt show up on the date.. He's such a jerk! Thank God there's Ryo to the rescue with his mighty umbrella~~ hahaha.


I usually don't cry easily, but yeah I cried for that episode.. I feel so terrible for her! And her fall was so bad.. It must have hurt so much =( And ohmygosh, Ryo actually teared a bit in the end!! *dies*

I am loving this series.. soo soo much.

i'm only at ep 3 with subs. still waiting so can't wait to see ep 4 then. any development in aya and ryo's character's relationship

Couldn't resist, watched ep 4 today - Aya is soo pretty in her yukata!
I think I'm tearing up more and more with each episode T__T

Spoiler for part 5
The episode start off with showing Aya in the rehab room looking all depress. The doctor comes in and tell her that she can leave the hospital soon, which really took Aya as a surprised. She expressed her concerns that she doesn't think she has gotten well at all

Aya's mom went to the school and told the teacher about Aya's disease and how she will never be cured. The teacher promised her that he will help her and take care of Aya at school. When Shiuka (Aya's mom) left the school, she bumped into Haruto and told him that Aya will be coming home soon. After she left, the senpai from the basketball team walked passed and Haruto told him that Aya was waiting for him for a long time in the rain

Aya walked up to the roof time by herself. She looks off to the far and thought "it feels like that the only summer in my life is over"

Mizuno adviced Shiuka to apply for the disability ID for Aya. Shiuka was in shock and refuse to do so. Mizuno explained to her there are different levels of disability and Aya's disease is progress and will only get worse. Shiuka still refuse to apply for it, but takes the application home

Ako and Shiuka came to the hospital to pick Aya up. Ako relised that
Aya hasn't gotten any better.

Shiuka showed Dad the disability ID application form. He got really angry and said that Aya is their daughter and he would take care of her by himself and wouldn't burden the country.

Next day, Aya gets to go back to soon. Shiuka is worried about Aya's safety and called a taxi for her. Her friends Mari and co picked her up at the school gate. The teacher told the class that Aya has a dieases that some teenagers would get and asked the class to take care of her. He also removed Aya from the her class president duty.

Aya talks to Haruto and thanks him for being their for her last time. She promises him she'll be stronger and Haruto says that strong girls aren't cute. They then made a deal that if Aya cries she will penalised 500yen

Aya wents to the basketball club, but she couldn't join in with the practice. The senpai's friend told the senpai that it seems like Aya hasn't gotten any better and he should start looking for another girl. At the school gate, senpai went up to Aya to say sorry, but as soon as he saw that his friends were coming, he went left quickly.

Aya's dad went to pick her up after school and she relised that people were all looking at her. She told her parents she would like to walk to school from the next day onwards. She said her own feet wants to walk.

Haruto's dad got home and his mom told him that Haruto has been studying. He wents into Haruto's room and saw that he was reading all these books regarding spinocerebellar degeneration disease.

Aya feels like she has been burdening the people around her. She wrote in her dairy. "Regreats. Peities. It's alright to be in pain on my own, but now I'm also being a burden to those around me".

Aya fainted in the school. Mizuno told her it's because she was dehydrated, she explained that she has been controling her water in take so she wouldn't have to go to the toilet as often. She said she doesn't want to burden the others. Mizuno told her that it's a social pattern, no one in the world hasn't trouble others before and she shouldn't be an exception.

Haruto went to talk to Mizuno (and it seems like it wasn't his first time). He questions Mizuno about why he wants to be a doctor when he can't even cure a disease. Mizuno said that doctors aren't God and there are only so much things they can do. Haruto bumps into his dad, his dad told him if he is only curing about Aya purly about of pity then he should break all ties with her. Haruto refuses to.

Back at home, Shiuka and Aya's dad agrues once again about the disability ID. Aya fells down the stairs and she apoglised for causing so much pain to everyone in the family. Shiuka told Aya that it wasn't her fault that she got the disease and the society is made up of all kinds of different people, and Aya should try to get accepted by the society too. She tolds Aya about the disability ID and it was one of the ways to get her to feel accepted. She them tells Ako, Hiroki and Rika that Aya has spinocerebellar degeneration disease. Hiroki said he'll always be on Aya's said. Ako was surprised and asked whether Aya will get better. Aya said no.

Aya wears her basketball jersey for the last time. Haruto saw her and accompanied her. She then ask Haruto to keep her company and make sure she doesn't cry. She called senpai and told him she was really happy to get into the same high school as him and hear him say congradulation and "hope you'll continue to play basketball". She then tells him that she will quit the basketball club and therefore won't be seeing him. She then says sayonara. Haruto told her that if she wants to cry then cry. But Aya said she doesn't want to penalised and didn't cry. They then walk off together. Aya looks up at the sky and says "In the blue sky the white coluds look really pretty"

aipeachie, I really appreciate the little summary for episode 5 that you posted. I felt sadden by just reading your spoiler. The closing quote is what I really like. There's a tint of sadness in the way she says it, but there's also lots of hope and strength in those simple sentences. I can't wait for the hardsubbed versions from both groups.
