oh my, did I cry watching ep 8, I couldn't believe that I cried until my nose was all red, my eyes all puffy *sniffs*. It was heartbreaking, definitely a tearjerker. I just realized that this is the episode I cried the most watching, after that, it must be episode 5. The speech Aya gave was beautiful. It must be very painful for her to finally say goodbye to the class, to let go of everything she once held so precious to herself. To did that, she had finally accepted the reality and said goodbye to the Aya she used to be. Haruto was really nice in this ep. I like how he stood up for her and always stays by her side, be it a depressing or happy time. The scene on the bridge where Aya said thank you to Haruto took away some of my tears. And I thought it was beautiful when Aya saying "bye bye" and Haruto broke down in tears, then the snow started to fall on that bridge where they first had their encounter. Beautiful moment.

Oh I have d/led ep 8 at home so I'm going to watch it asap when I get back.

Some said they cried a lot in ep 8... well I cried even at the mildest scene so I better get some tissue packs ready. It brings me to tears cos you feel Aya's pain and how everyone else must feel about her illness.

Is anyone else a bit sad that Haruto is just a fictional character? I know the drama is based on the real Aya but knowing that Haruto didn't exist for the real Aya (I assume), I feel very sad about that.

wow I never really thought about it that way until you mentioned it! yeah it's quite sad to think there was no real Hayato in the real Aya's life. Because in the dorama, Aya seems to draw a lot of strength from Haruto. But at least she had such a loving and supporting family around her right?

I had some time today, so finally finished ep 8~ just finished watching it, so my eyes are still all watery T____T
this is one of the most touching episodes ever.. aya's speech to the class.. thinking about it.. just makes me want to cry again T____T it seems that she has officially accepted her disease now, and is ready to take the next step.
i wonder how much of the stuff that happens in the drama, really was exactly what happened to the real aya (well minus Haruto's character)~ i wish there was a translated version of the book, i'd so go out and buy it!! unfortunately, my japanese is not quite that skilled yet, so i probably wouldn't be able to understand most of it~ =/

I'm so glad I have a box of tissues on my desk, I can't stop crying. Erika's (Aya) acting is so believeable. And then when Ako finally asked Aya her "if" question, I bawled my eyes out and when Ryo(Haruko) started crying on the bridge I cried even more. =.=" There were so many touching scenes in this episode, I think I'm going to need a new tissue box soon =.="

I can't seem to put this a better way, but Haruto's father said, its those that suffer that inspire us. If that makes sense, I can't remember the exact wordings. But its true. Although some people just care for themselves =.=" like Aya's classmate, the one that became class representative.

My bf doesn't know why I put myself through this, but its really rare for me to find dramas that touch me till I cry. Even my mom was teary eyed when she watched an episode of 1 Litre no Namida.

[spoiler] Looks like Haruto and Aya are sort of on a date at the aquarium and Haruto at some point is close to confession and then towards the end of the preview it shows Aya on the phone and her voice is starting to take the effects of the disease where she tells Haruto that their worlds are becoming different. So sad *sniffles* [/spoiler]

Saw ep 9 too now (thank you seeders, I'm still seeding it). Anyway, next to Aya, I feel just as bad for Haruto. It seems like it's the best thing to leave Aya be to avoid hurting each other but that doesn't seem to work for either of them. And he can't leave her as it is either cos he likes her. But then he is also setting himself up for heartache and it's just terribly sad for both of them. I can't imagine how it's gonna end. The phone convo was just really sad but the preview for the next episode is just sorrowful.

awww. episode 8 was saddd. especially the part where the class was talking about her, and AYA was listening from outside. even one of her friends started changing her minds about AYA. that part was sadddd.

yea..wasn't he in a drama with Ryo...it was called Gambatte Ikimasshoi I think and he got replaced a couple of episodes into it coz of that drinking incident...
I just watched episode 9...it was so different from the other episodes I think coz it centred more on her relationship with Haruto and less on the development of her sickness (although it was still there) which I enjoyed coz I kinda forgot for that time they were on the date...the phone accessories!!!! so cute!
The saddest part of the whole episode was the PREVIEW though! I'm so dreading the next episode...I almost don't want to watch it, I don't think I'll be able to handle, just seeing the preview made me burst into tears....I almost regret starting to watch this drama coz I know the ending is going to be so heartwrenching..but the drama itself is so good and so inspiring....

uchi is so good looking and quirky (in a good way). i watched the first ep of gambatte ikimasshoi but ann suzuki was kind of annoying so i stopped. uchi looks so so good in there...really match the popular guy that all the girls fall for. ryo looks hot too like he does in 1 litre of tears.

actually i can't wait for the last ep in this drama because i want to see how they'll end it.

Hahah omgosh me too.. I only watched like half of the first episode of Ganbatte Ikimasshoi.. Anne Suzuki looked really funny in it XDD But yeah, Uchi was gorgeous XDD Ryo looked good as usual.

And yeahh.. I heard the preview of episode 10 is really sad... and my friend said that she pisses on herself? omgosh when he told me what i was like.. T___T!! and she also somehow ends up at the hospital again and shes spazzing.. like her body =/ and then, in another scene, she goes like.. "help me" to her parents =/ and if im not mistaken i think she also asks her parents if she will ever be able to marry again.

[spoiler]Aya attends a wedding and she catches the bouquet and probably where the 'marriage' question came up. She also writes a love letter to Haruto which he reads outside at night somewhere like on the bridge. I couldn't read what it says properly but it must have been something sad (<- overused word) because he silently burst into tears.[/spoiler] Yeah, it will definitely be another heart-wrenching episode.

I didnt know K was a Korean singer...but I love that song he sings. Its really pretty!

I wrote up summaries for eps 2-9 at wiki.d-addicts.com. This is from the RAW episode so I'm waiting for the subs just to correct any misunderstandings I may have made.

EPISODE 9 SUMMARY

[spoiler]It's been a couple months and Aya is attending the disability school now. She is presented with her new automatic wheelchair and test drives it. Aya feels better using it as its more mobile. At home, Shioka and Mizuo talk.

Mizuo happens to pass a bicycle-riding Haruto on the way home from somewhere and makes him carry in a bag of rice. Aya is surprised to see Haruto again. Mizuo is embarrassing Haruto by singing the 3gatsu 9 song and dragging him into the living room. They all have dinner together as Rika is presented with a gift.

Even Aya is given a gift in the form of a new cell phone so the family can contact her easier. Haruto immediately asks for her number but Mizuo closes his cell phone for him as Haruto and Aya exchange sweet glances over the table. Later outside, Aya is talking with Haruto as he pets Ganmo and tries to get Aya's number again only to be rejected for the second time.

Bicycling on the way to school, Haruto observes the Higashkou basketball team doing their morning jog as the new spring arrives. Meanwhile, Aya is settling into her new school. Shioka leaves feeling saddened and teary-eyed as she walks out of the school grounds.

Later, Aya meets Asumi, the girl with the same illness that Shioka met before, for the first time and is surprised to hear she has the same disease, but she feels that Asumi is a very cute girl. At home, Mizuo tries to call Aya on her new cell phone for the first time but finds the number busy wondering who she is talking to. Ako teases how Aya is talking to Aso-kun right now as Mizuo tries to re-dial.

Dr. Aso returns home to overhear from the corridor how Haruto is talking on the phone to Aya. Aya finishes talking to Haruto and views her handwriting which has seemingly has gotten worse. Meanwhile, Shioka is talking to Dr. Mizuno again about Aya's condition.

The next day, Aya is in gym and is handed a ball when Asumi comes up to her to talk about their teacher and her boyfriend. Aya finds Asumi to be a sweet girl. She is walking up her classroom thinking how afraid she is of what's happening to her. Her physical mobility is increasingly difficult and she is moving very slowly at this stage.

The next day, Haruto is at the library with his friends when he sees Ako studying there. He talks to her pointing out mistakes she made in her homework. In the evening, Haruto is calling Aya on her cell phone again. He aranges a date with her to go to the aquarium. Asumi asks if he is her boyfriend but Aya claims he is just a school classmate.

Later, Dr. Aso comes into Haruto's room and talks to him about Aya again. He asks if they are dating but Haruto can't explain and his father tells him to think about the situation with Aya's illness. The next day, Haruto meets Aya at her school for their date when Asumi comes to meet him too. On the way, Aya explains how Asumi has the same illness as her.

At the aquarium, Aya is having a good time viewing the fishes when Haruto momentarily leaves. Later outside, Haruto fixes a dolphin chain to Aya's phone with him having the matching one. He goes to buy drinks when Aya is approched by a lady and her daughter for directions. Aya starts to find difficulties in speech and decides to speak very little. They miss the bus and Haruto tries to call a taxi for them when it starts to rain heavily.

Meanwhile, The Ikeuchi family is worrying about Aya's whereabouts as Haruto and Aya are being taken in a special disability taxi back to the tofu shop. Shioka momentarily yells at Haruto as he is taking responsibility for what happened. Inside the home, Shioka says Aya will be fine and both parties apologize for what happened.

Shioka talks seriously to Haruto about Aya, who happens to be in the room next door listening in. Both, Haruto and Aya seem to be hurt by Shioka's wise words. Haruto heads home in the rain with an umbrella when Aya calls him on the cell phone to apologize. Her voice is getting worse. Aya tells him how she believes they seem to be in different worlds and hangs up crying.

At Jhunon hospital, Aya's speech is being examined by Dr. Mizuno. Haruto is returning books to the library again and meets Ako there. Ako goes outside to talk to Haruto about Aya again and how she id trying her best in her studies. Haruto says Ako is really Aya's little sister.

On the way home, Haruto leaves his friends and runs to Aya. At the disability school, Aya is watering the plants when Haruto arrives, seeing her again since their last phone conversation. Aya is trying her best to talk but becomes teary-eyed. Haruto speaks and confesses that he likes her. Aya thanks him.

Aya is parting ways with Asumi on her way to her classroom while Haruto is at home filling out the 'future path' form. At Aya's school, the Ikeuchi family is visiting her and surprise her with Ako is wearing Higashkou's uniform -- she passed the entrance exam. Aya is very happy. [/spoiler]

The OST is lovely, I like listening to 'Konayuki' (Piano instrumental) and 'Anata ga oshiete kure tamono' (instrumental) best especially cos they play during memorable parts of the drama.

K or Kang Yoon Sung's (<- think that's the name spellt up there) singing Japanese sounds really good. I don't know much about him but I wasn't sure though if he looked Japanese when I saw the MV for 'Only Human'.

They added stuff along the way. The names of the family members are real, last name is not. Haruto and all the school classmates are fiction I believe (I feel sad thinking about that again).

Yes, even Ryo's character. It was mentioned that Aya's real mother asked the director to add Haruto in there so Aya could experience love which she didn't in real life. Somewhere it was mentioned on this thread I think. Anyway, I said 2 pages back or so how sad I found it.
