They formed a group sometime around 2002, but they never released anything to the public until 2004. They've become really popular across Japan for their singing abilities and good looks.
Eiji Wentz is only half-Japanese. He is part German from his father. Apparently, his father's side of the family is quite culturally German, but Wentz doesn't speak any German at all, or English for that matter. He only speaks Japanese. For proof of his really poor English skills, I refer you to this photo, where he was asked to spell "Thursday".
Both of them are also actors as well, having been in various dramas and movies.
So has anyone heard their music? And what do you think of it?

but i dont quite agree that they have 'singing abilities'. maybe its just me. (i have listened to their songs and i know they play guitars but still their music doesnt appeal to me. its too cute.)

I really like WaT. They're pretty good at singing. not amazing, but their songs have been very catchy. The album disappointed me though, the songs sound the same and so bland.. I was really glad that the duo came out with Hava Rava, which was a totally new kind of song~

i'm not a big fan of WaT but i'll admit wentz is really cute and teppei is a good actor. I have some of their songs but eh i think it's too j-country like. Funny the last pic wentz looks totally helpless like he's be kidnapped lol.

Yay, I'm so glad other people have heard of them....

I haven't seen any of Teppei's dramas or movies. Are there any in particular that are really good? I was thinking of downloading Gokusen II....

Anyhow, I read somewhere that they are supposed to have something, another single, coming out before the end of the year....! So that'll be exciting.

I'm majorly bumping an old thread but i don't care, because I totally fell in love with Teppei in Gokusen 2. Omg!! his smile, hair, voice everything!! gah!! I' only starting to get into WaT but it's pretty hard because they haven't released that many songs. Although I started to get into j-pop a few months ago, they look like they don't get that much publicity unlike JE bands.

Anyway, I love their new single. Especially Awaking Emotion 8/5. That song is simply WOW, Wentz did great in that song!

^I saw some of Gokusen II and I had to stop watching....just the same thing, over and over again. Bleh.

Anyway, Wentz and Teppei are making solo albums now! O.O

ohmygoodness, i love teppei. i went through a huge teppei phase not too long ago, haha. but yeah, he's definitely adorable, and he was so cute in gokusen 2 hehe. i dont know about wentz though, and when i first saw that picture i laughed so hard...so cute..haha.

anyways, abotu their music..i actually havent heard anything from WaT, but i have heard teppei's stuff..and his voice is indeed very different..haha.

I heard they couldn't get along or something... which might be the reason for the solo stuff... idk.

Their music is okay, and I think they're good actors. Whenever I see them in shows, Teppei seems to be kinda shy and Wentz seems really talkative lol.

No no no. Wentz cannot speak English to save his life. There was a show i saw, i think he cannot say a number or something like that (something thats very simple)

I've been loving this pair for a little more than two years now.

I love "Boku no Kimochi" and "Hava Rava".

"Boku no Kimochi" because it was the reason I got into them. I think we still had Taiwanese Channel [V] back then, and I saw them on the MV. I got hooked.
"Hava Rava" coz it's so summery...

Lol, two of my friends love Teppei. <3 Maybe because I showed them the Lovely Complex trailer.


I love their acting skills. Teppei's movie, LoveCom, is still my favorite. I didn't watch Waterboys, though. Because he looked so...tanned. xDD And he looked weird. My friend says it's good, though.

Also acting-wise, Eiji will be in the Nodame Special on February, and Teppei will star in an Autumn special drama as some blind tenor singer. ^^;
Andddd teppei will be in a 2008 movie with Tamaki Hiroshi called KIDS, the trailer is ratehr creepy coz you get to see Teppei bloody and dying.. >_<
