I was online and came across this song called 'Tears' by 'X Japan'.. Which i really liked..
They are an old Japanese band.. Who has split up..
Any1 heard of them or the song b4? Do u know any other good songs of theirs?
I dont know much about JPop coz im more in2 Kpop/Cpop.. So can any1 can fill me in about the group?
I started 2 seach 4 their performances on youtube and came across this song called 'I'll Be Your Love'..
The pianist is the Yoshiki (?) who used 2 be in the band..
And the girl that sings it is the Nicole from the Pussycat Dolls??!! I also really like this song..
Apparently there is a Japanese version of this song as well right? Does any1 know what its called?
Here is the link:

X-Japan was a great band. They disbanded soon after Toshi announced that he would be leaving the group. I have great respect for them. They have some of the best ballads I have ever heard. You should listen to all of their ballads.
They have a song titled 'Art of Life' and it is simply breathtaking. It's about half an hour long. It really is a work of art. In a lot of X-Japan's songs, you can see that there is an influence of classical music. I loveeeee it!!
Hahaha.. that song w/ Nicole is gorgeous. It sounds familiar, but I'm not sure I've heard it before. Maybe...

I hated their rock music, but their ballads -like mentioned above- were extraodinary.

I'm a fan of both their rock and ballads. Honestly I'm not a ballad-type person, but X Japan's ballads I just love.
It goes without saying that X Japan is one of the most important bands in J-rock history. My favourite song by them is probably "Silent Jealousy."

I haven't heard that song you posted, either. Thanks for the link. ^^

actually...to the topic starter
they're obviously not a jpop group
haha but it's ok
they're a old 90's japanese rock band
they're usually the one's credited to popularize ''visual kei'' in japan
the ballads are sooo good
but if you don't want ballads
Silent Jealousy
Blue Blood
are two realllllly good rock songs
trying downloading their album ''Blue Blood''
its arguably their best album

X-Japan is a great band. Its sad that they don't make music anymore as a group because they disband. Their songs are great and go buy their CD before its really gone since its quite hard to get it these days.
Anyways, what is the japanese version of the song in the link?

yeah.... they really remind me of my older brother who used to listen to them when i was younger. T_T
i don't think "Say Anything" was mentioned.
it's also a good song. (one of their 'ballad' numbers.. hahaha)
the 'tears' acoustic guitar verison is so pretty and calming.

THis is sad that this thread seems dead and the last post was made in 2006. X-Japan was such a great band and I love all their ballads. It shows how talented Yoshiki was and he still is~ All the members excelled on their instruments so they were able to contribute to the band. Im sure alot of X-Japan fans know this already, but they are going to reunite and hold a concert Dec 2007. CUrrently TOshi and Yoshiki are recording I guess probably the vocals for that tribute song "without You" YOshiki made for hide. It is not confirmed if Pata and Heath will rejoin yet. They will have guest guitarists come in to fill in hides spot for every song I guess. THe source where I got this from seems reliable, but I'm so excited that they are reuniting, becuz so sad I discovered this band 6 years after they broke up...

^ I think its hard for this thread to keep going, as they are disbanded and hide is deceased. Also, Yoshiki is occupied with SKIN now.
My favourite songs:
Kurenai
Rusty Nail
Drain
Endless Rain
Say Anything
Tears
Crucify My Love
Silent Jealousy
Tears was my first song too, and one of the first Jrock songs I heard. I thought it was beautiful and had it on repeat for ages.

The Comeback of X Japan
According to the website Sponichi, visual-kei legend X Japan will make their comeback this year! This year they will release "Without you", which Toshi recorded in March in Yoshiki's studio. There are also plans for a first live performance.
Both Pata and Heath seem to be joining too, but there is no official message about this yet. For the position of HIDE, they'll probably look for different guest musicians.

I started listening to them for their ballad songs but I also really like listening to their LIVES albums. I really love their music and they are one of the few Jrock bands I listen to. Actually I mostly just listen to X-Japan for my Jrock fixes.

Yes, it's airing Friday. You should see it cause I.V. is not included in the OST. I'm definitely going.
An update is that Yoshiki announced X reunion tour next Spring... Yes!!! I think it might be worldwide too... But it probably might be only in L.A. since Yoshiki lives there.

To answer the first question in the first post, The song is I'll forever be your love ORIGINALLY SUNGby Dahlia...from Violet UK, name dahlia was suggested by yoshiki in tribute to a song X-japan did, Dahlia and yoshiki are supposed to be according to dahlia working on a japanese/english album together. I reccomend it that if you like Nicole singing this song you will LOVE dahlia, though i dont like her in the pusscatdolls she has a nice voice when singing things like this, but Dahlia is simply amazing.

X Japan is fantastic. There've been talks of a reunion kind of concert.
My favourite song from them is Crucify my Love. All of their songs are so emotional.
If you like them, I would follow Yoshiki, he's done some amazing stuff and produced some amazing bands. I live near LA and he makes appearances at a lot of concerts. I missed JRock Revolution because of a wedding but I heard he was handing out coffee to fans in line, which is totally sweet and I saw him at Family Values last year (I think. It was when Dir en grey was on the tour).

Saw this article in the Big Bang thread..so random..lol..but wow reunion!! (tho i think they announced the days back in..january..=X)...*O* just glaze over the BB stuff..lol..but.... OMG, X JAPAN!!!! my first reaction to seeing this..haha. @_@; Oh and late response but when I finally listened to the full version of I.V...man...no words..X Japan is just always and forever awesome. Hide's guitar in the MV though, made me so sad.. R.I.P. but I heard they did use Hide's unreleased guitar material for the song...;__; Beautiful song. X-Japan is the Jrock group I listen to the most..or now more like the only Jrock group I'll listen to...they are so epic.
X Japan, Big Bang to Simultaneously Hold Concerts in Tokyo, Monday March 10, 2008 Japan
X Japan, a disbanded but once phenomenally popular Japanese idol band will perform together for the first time in ten years in front of 100,000 fans at the Tokyo Dome, the venue of their farewell concert on December 31, 1997. The band will perform on March 28 and March 30.
Not so far away from the Tokyo Dome, the Korean idol group Big Bang, which released its debut single 'How Gee' in Japan in January, will hold its first solo concert in Tokyo at Tokyo Dome City's JCB Hall for two days from March 28.
Yang Hyun-suk, the executive of Big Bang's management agency YG Entertainment who has indirect ties with X Japan, set the date of the concert in tandem with the much anticipated concert of the legendary Japanese group.
Seven, who has a contract with YG Entertainment, launched his music career in Japan through Japanese entertainment agency Unlimited Group, which helped X Japan and Glay rise to stardom.
Yang was a member of the disbanded Taeji Boys. Seo Tae-ji currently owns a guitar once used by the late Hide, one of the members of X-Japan.
