okay, i don't know if anybody can or will participate in this thread, but i've seen a dorm room thread in college age and a bedroom thread in 411, so i figure this can be our version. if you have any pictures of your awesome place, post them here! i'm still getting settled into my new abode and am looking for decorating ideas, so i'd love to see how other soompiers live!

a few of you may have seen these before, but i'll post pics of my last residence anyway -- an 11'x11' room in a two-bedroom place. it doesn't look very adult but oh well, that's college life for you... or for me, anyway.

renovating what? looks nice and new to me....

I was thinking of getting some plants to living up the place, but I don't really have a green thumb, and fake plants look tacky. Mounting the TV wasn't that difficult, but make sure you find the studs. I had to drill a small hole to find them. It does save some space having it mounted up there. It took some getting used to, but i've found an "optimum" viewing angle when i'm laying on the couch with a couple of pillows

Good spot. Most of my furnitures are from IKEA. Practical, cheap, and have contemporary looks to them.

Lamb chops with mandarin orange, dried mint. side of garlic mash.

Spiced pear cooked in cinnamon, ginger, lemon and brown sugar, with pear ice cream

I'm still in process of renovating our place. I need to fix the foundation first (but it's been raining a lot so it keeps getting pushed back)

was gonna clean our apartment before i took the pictures...but screw it. what doe you expect with 2 full-time professional students... all rooms except for the bathroom are shown...it's your basic bathroom, shower, sink, and the throne.

I should be living here already, but apparently the concrete strike here in Seattle made people lazier than normal. I'm on the 7th floor of that middle tower - in about 6 weeks.



It's called the 2200 Westlake - 2 residential towers, a 5-star Pan Pacific Hotel, Whole Foods, and a European-style courtyard with retail. Best of all, condo residents use hotel amentities like any other guest!

Dang! You ppl live luxuriously! I wish I had that kind of dough to afford that kind of place. I just want a house - 2 story to be exact w/a furnish basement. I love my bro's house...its a 4-level split and the basement is so nice. I love how his house has a pond in the back and all. Dang! Makes me wish I had one too!

Saw your card table in the dining room I'm planning to move out of my parents house in the next few months and I've been mentioning to my mom that I may get a card table etc. for the dining area and she's always looking horrified when I say this

The thing is I've lived on my own before so I know for a fact that I wouldn't use a dining table. The only thing its good for is for throwing mail on top of, haha

Btw, I am totally jealous of some of kitchens I've seen here. I am hoping I can get a nice place and then post my pics up here although as someone said before NY is so expensive

that's exactly how i feel! i've lived in various apartments over the years and always had a separate dining area with furniture my mom bought for me -- and i never, ever, ever used it. i always ate at my desk (and i still do, whether at work or at home), so when i moved to california i was pretty adamant about not buying a table. i haven't needed one yet haha.

In any part of Washington State their lazy when it come to construction even with strikes or not when i get my place in january i'll post pictures of it or when I get my room cleaned up.

I've been in the process of redecorating. Here's a pic from early this summer and my progress right now.
