But the thing is, I'm kinda errm, old to be starting this kind of sport.
I'm in highschool already, so mid-teens.
I'm not planning to go pro or anything though, so I just wanna do it for fun.
I would really like to learn all the basic flips and stuff. =D
So is it still too late then?
I haven't taken gymnastics previously.
However, I have some ballet bascis.
Really limited though.
Uggh, I can do the splits?
Also, how long does it take before you see results?
I know it depends, but generally. A year or two?

it might be more difficult depending on what you can do already
but not impossible at all

I'm taking a taxi to Kentucky where they don't even know all about me. I just need to feel s a f e.
I've got a thousand sweaters, and shoes, and paintings to hide the skeletons in my way.
But he said, "Slow down, slow down. Think it over, we've all got wretched closets, but silly girl pride kills more than Aids lately."
I said, "Come on, I thought it over. I don't wanna die here. I have no desire to get m♥rried."
Every night I pray for you, don't believe in heaven or that it could be a happy place.

You shouldn't have quit then. )=
Haha, the last time I tried to do a handspring on my own I nearly broke my neck.

Not to mention training schedules are a b*tch
But if you just wanted to do it for fun, then nah, any age is fine : D although if you're after being able to do neat tricks that look cool and flashy then I'd suggest something like breakdancing/capoeira instead. Trust me- I did gymnastics for 8 years of hell and the best thing I can do now is a back tuck (aka no-hands backflip.) IT'S NOT WORTH IT!!!!! D:
Haha, then again I'm biased.

3-4 days a week of 4 hour training. ewwwww.
sad thing is, after i quit, i still ate hella, and then i got really fat. ugh.
but it is cool to show off tricks. hehehee.
i think it's not too late for you to start, but i dont think you should expect anything like !!!!! because it takes a lot of time and dedication, and since you're a high school student, that's hard to give.

I took some gymnastics over the summer for cheerleading and fell in love with it. I'm pretty flexible naturally but it took me about a month to get down a back handspring (we only had hour and a half long lessons, and there were about 10 people per coach) so of course my abilities were pathetic compared to these adorable little 8 year old girls who shared the gym as us but it was still a lot of fun so definitely look into it! (I was 16 1/2 when I took it btw)

but when i took gymnastics, just like figure skating (what i do know instead of gymnastics),
all my coaches told me that i shouldn't even try or there's no point at all in doing the sport
if im afraid of getting injured or falling (this ones for figure skating mostly)
