i dunno if there is already a topic on this but i wanted to talk about it because it finally ended and all with the thirteenth book. seriously, i bought the thirteenth book of thirteen chapters worth thirteen dollars. lol. spoiler:

the ending....kinda.....was disappointing b/c none of the billions of questions were really answered and yes count olaf died but he died all mushy and stuff and it was kinda weird. haha. and lemony snicket said that one of the parents was alive but actually neither of them were alive, and what happened to the islanders??? eh???? and..and...the SNAKE!!! AHHHHH I WAS SAD ABOUT THE PART WHERE THE SNAKE DEPARTED THE ORPHANS TO LIKE attempt to save the islanders and how he will forever hide from misery and blahty blah. it's a snake so he can probably slither on water but ....yeah i'm mushy. haha any other opinions?? Ah my GOD!!!! THANK GOD! someone else read this book!! I recieved it a week before it was due out because i pre-ordered it on amazon, but I got a $17 fee for having it shipped to me ASAP But geesh, I was just whining about this book not too long ago

I was so very disappointed that the book ended with absolutely NO RESOLUTION except that the Baudelaire's mom's name was Beatrice, which only makes it that much more confusing because in "The Beatrice Letters" Beatrice is following Lemony Snicket asking him to research the orphans because they are her only family left. So does this mean that Beatrice, the orphan's mother, is the same Beatrice that Lemony was so in love with? Meaning she was alive looking for her kids but died partway through Lemony's research? Or are there two different Beatrices? And yeah, I was sad with the way Count Olaf went. I think it was too late to try to redeem Count Olaf as a questionble character. Bad person but still human enough to be slightly good?

This last book just confused and frustrated me that the questions built up and hardly any of them were answered. However, I did like the message that not all people are listed as JUST bad or JUST good. And I also liked that perhaps even if we do get the answers we are searching for there will just be more questions.

But still!!!! I WANT ANSWERS!!! And then the whole island living and writing in the book "A Series of Unfortunate Events". Are there two of them then?

Awhile ago Count Olaf was said to have his own book(s) in work to tell his side of the tale. I was never sure if it was serious or not but now I am curious, will they come out? And if they do, who will publish it and take the credit for the writing, seeing as Count Olaf is dead?

I loved this series.. started reading it since the 4th grade?
As interesting as the 13th book was, it was such a disappointment.
It left so many questions unanswered.

& don't kill me, but I thought the movie sucked.

when the movie came out, i was like "its all messed up! it didnt happen like this!!" but it was still a good watch!

Comparing the movies to the books, yeah the movies sucked. But the movie as a movie was good. I love Jim Carrey. I think he gave Count Olaf justice.

haha yes i agree that i liked the movie and watched it a billion times b/c olaf was funny, sunny was adorable, and liam aiken was also kinda cute (lol) but it really was kinda different from the book. so fastpaced and all!!!! but yeah haha

I still don't know what VFD is or where the hell this "sugarbowl" is. Does it mean that Beatrice is a whore if it's just one woman? I mean, where is this parent that lived? And having Count Olaf die does not solve anything at all.


A waste of 8 bucks.. =/

^ Yeah I agree completely!!!!!

What angered me the most was the whole sugarbowl business. He put this whole thing about the sugarbowl and then by the end, there was NO MENTION of it. And I still don't get the Beatrice thing either. I think I need to go out for a walk again to try to get over it.
