Right now I have a Sony Ericsson K750

.. but i'm gonna get getting Sony Ericsson G900 in a couple of weeks... AND most likely buying my friend's Iphone off her.. but since my dad is gonna be paying for both phones.. I'm guessing he's gonna take the Iphone .. but o well.. i like G900 more ^^

I finally caved today and bought a new phone. July 2007, when I came to Korea, I bought a Moto razr because it was the cheapest one I could find given my visa status at the time. But I've always HATED that phone with a burning passion. Finally, today, I went to an LG Phone and Fun store and bought the LG Ice Cream. I didn't even particularly want that phone when it was being advertised, but their other phones were really business-y. It was only about $250 USD with a year's contract, which is a good deal--it's usually about $400-500. It's really cute and I like the layout--so much more efficient than the stupid Motorola.

ehh that doesnt strike me as a good deal... new, unlocked ones without contract cost about $200 where i live.

For Korea...trust me, it's a fairly decent deal (for a one year contract). Without a contract in Korea, it's virtually impossible to get a decent phone under $300. In the US, it sounds outrageous, but Korea's cell phone contracts/pricings are very, very different. I have Korean friends that paid $700 for phones without contracts before. Freaky.

it might, it depends on whether your area uses 1900mhz or 850mhz (you might be able to tell by a coverage map). from where i live most of the at&t was on the 850mhz band and not so much on the 1900mhz. so when i had the lg viewty there were places with lots of dead spots and low reception. i got mine off ebay from the seller named celljapan.

you might have to CPR your phone o_o, put the unlock card + sim into another unlocked phone and get reception with it then put it back into your sh905i.

I thought I was being ripped off the first time I went to buy a cell phone in Korea. But afterwards, my Korean friends told me that's just the way it works. You can get cheaper phones but...they come with a LOT of stuff in the fine print (expensive services and whatnot). I've heard other places in Asia are cheaper, like China and Taiwan. Wish Korea would follow in suit...students buying cellphones for $500 isn't cool in my book.
