So, just this week a new artist released her debut single which is doing pretty well on the Oricon. She's a great singer and she's like Utada (a lot of people compare her to Utada as well) as she writes her own songs.

I found out about her by watching her Possession PV on Bestiz. It's such a nice song. I wonder... what's her ethnicity? Since Jyongri is obviously not a Japanese name. lol

There's been rumours going around that she's Korean or Korean/Japanese, who grew up in Japan.

Yeah, Possession is such a great song. My All For You is decent, but she sounds wierd.

oh i love her songs, i was immediately addicted to her songs when i first heard them.

i like posession the most out of her songs.
from what i've read, she attended an international school in osaka (with aoyama thelma) and studied in the US for some time.
her mom seemed really active in getting her to do various activities, and even talked aoyama thelma's mom into having their daughters join chorus together.

she's a pretty good singer, but like many artists, she's got2 or 3 good songs per 10-12song cd...

Jyongri tries acting in TBS drama

Singer-songwriter JYONGRI (20) is making her true acting debut next month. She has been cast in the two-part TBS drama "Kimi no Sei," based on a mobile phone romance novel published last year.

The drama stars Kei Tanaka and Natsumi Ishibashi. The supporting cast includes Risa Kudo, JYONGRI, and Ulful Keisuke, who is also making his first appearance in a television drama.

In addition to her acting role, JYONGRI is providing an insert song for the drama, titled "Maybe Someday." The single goes on sale April 29.

"Kimi no Sei" will air late at night (12:29am) on May 4-5.
